Below is a place to thread out quick little conversations with the NPCs that aren't worth an entire log. Vatheon's staple NPCs will have postings here, and all the other new quest NPCs will simply be listed under the "Quest NPCs" comment header. Please put in the subject line which quest you're talking with an NPC about!

[And here we go on another one!]

Pardon me... are you the one I need to speak to regarding the bard's skill?

I have been waiting for someone to tag this guy. WAITING...

Yes. I. am!

[Each word is accompanied by ridiculous poses that send his cape sailing back behind him dramatically. He waits for Ioder to introduce himself, holding one of those poses politely.]

Maaaaan where all my Bards at

[Oh boy... this guy reminds him a bit of a certain pink-wearing knight, but Ioder is pretty sure he's not going to be nearly as awful of a person as Cumore was.]

I... see. Achem. I'm Ioder. What do I need to do.

they sensed what was coming and ran for the hills

Oh, Ioder. Ioder. You'll never catch your audience's attention like that! You have to have flash. Pizazz! FLAMBOYANCE!

[And now that he's used that skill, Ioder wouldn't be able to look away from his song and dance. He has to watch for the whole four minutes.

Oddly enough, that seems to impart the skill to Ioder, too.]

[But... emperors aren't supposed to be flamboyant

... okay emperors that aren't Peony.

But regardless, Ioder is more or less stuck here, forced to watch and thinking to himself that yes, this is just as ridiculous as he feared. He wants to argue that stage presence can be found without being so damned silly but he has reason to believe that will just make him fail the quest and he'll be back to square one.

Still, the longer he stands there watching this display of... well he's not even sure what it is, but it sure is happy. The longer he stands there watching it, the more he feels like he's learning... something.

About half way through he figures, why not, at least the guy is having fun, and pulls out the crystal flute he was gifted for the curse and begins to play along. It's not exactly easy to dance while playing an instrument like that, Ioder does manage to keep up, and seems far more in to it than he was a moment ago.]

Good!

[Once Ioder begins playing and dancing along, full blown background music starts up out of nowhere. Now the whole plaza is watching. Can Ioder keep on going without shame?!]

[Really, he'd be lying if he said he wasn't at least a little self conscious. It was hard not to be once they started gaining a crowd.

But the tune was strangely catchy, the energy infectious and even with that he's actually able to keep up quite well.]

Great!

[And one final dramatic spin.]

Perfect!

[Ioder has learned the skill Flamboyance! Hopefully he'll be able to live it down.]

[He'll be fine.

With a bow to the crowd, and to his temporary teacher, Ioder smiles and departs with a wave. It was silly, but he learned something. All in all, not a horrible experience.]

[Flamboyant Man, meet a dude wear a codpiece and a cape made out of... streamers? Seriously. This outfit.]

Hey. You the motherfucker what I was supposed to all be finding here?

[His outfit. It's... it's beautiful And he thought his outfit was eye catching! He just stares for a moment before posing dramatically with an emphasis on every word.]

Yes. I. am!

[He holds his pose, cape fluttering in a non-existent breeze.]

And YOU must be a fellow bard!

[Just wait until he unloads the sparkles or whips out his ukelelelellelele.

Man, his poses kinda remind Gamzee of Eridan. Seriously. This dude and Eridan would probably get along really well.]

Does all seem to be that's what's the fuckin' what here.

You've got some real pizazz, kid. Your own style! But sometimes, that's not enough to keep the attention of the audience. Sometimes, you have to be really... FLAMBOYANT!

[And immediately he launches into a dance. It's not as if the dance is particularly difficult to do, but each move has so much energy and emotion behind it that it's impossible to look away.]

[Gamzee watches for a few moment before he joins in. Does he really know what is going on here? Eh. Kinda doubtful on that, but this was the dude that stood in the middle of a crowded meteor lab and just fuckin' jived the hours away next to his hornpile. It is not like he knows shame. Why feel shame when you get getting down and awesome?]

Good! Excellent!

[Is he grading the timing of Gamzee's dance steps? He just might be. Now the whole plaza is watching them. At least all the locals are friendly and easily entertained rather than the sort to point and laugh. Once they both start dancing background music starts playing out of nowhere, only adding to their already fabulous performance.]

You're a NATURAL!

[Gamzee has learned the skill: Flamboyance. Not that he needed it with a codpiece like that. Now he can really overdo things.]

[Whatever are they even doing? Who cares it sure is fun though. And you know what this needs? More music! Which is what has Gamzee plucking his ukelele from behind his back to accompany their silly dancing with even sillier music.

Wait, what do you mean his quest is done, he is having way too much fun!]

[The flamboyant man is incredibly happy to have someone appreciating all this properly! He dances the afternoon away with Gamzee, busting out his own version of the Dancing Lights skill until the plaza looks like a bad rave.

Clearly, this is what it was really meant for.]
