The character I'm thinking of reserving is, in events we see in canon, in his twenties or so. However, we see him as a child in flashbacks - and then there's a timeskip gap.
Is pulling from within that gap an acceptable canon point, if I justify my writeups of his personality and history with where I'm inferring from canon? (His personality would be pretty much the same as when we see him in canon - just not as experienced.) Or is that too much like an AU, even if he's a canon character from the canon universe?
