The SFC does function like a cellphone, just with a video to video function as well as the usual text and voice functions a phone can have. The SFC can make a call to a single person often called a "filtered call", or they can make a broadcasted call to everyone on the network, which is the default function. Text posts are like sending a text message to everyone or just a single person. Voice is like a usual cellphone call, just the voice being broadcast. Video is like a cellphone call but with a video feed so the characters can see each other as they talk.

Reserves aren't necessary, though if someone has a reserve in for the character, you'll have to challenge app or wait for the next wrong if they don't app.
