Below is a place to thread out quick little conversations with the NPCs that aren't worth an entire log. Vatheon's staple NPCs will have postings here, and all the other new quest NPCs will simply be listed under the "Quest NPCs" comment header. Please put in the subject line which quest you're talking with an NPC about!

Well, fights like this are never over what they say it's over. If we can get to the root of the problem, that should stop their fighting.

What happened just before they built the wall?

[The sister wrings her hands nervously.]

Well, I don't know exactly. I heard an "oww!" and a "you took my legos again!" and then "well it was on my side of the room!" and then they just started arguing over where the line should go and before I knew it they built a big wall!

[findsrisks]

[Of course, fighting over toys. She has to fight the urge to roll her eyes at that.]

I think I know what to say to them. Can you get them both out here?

[thalassino]

Well, one of them has a window, and the other has a door... but I think they can hear you through their wall.

[Sometimes they'll yell corrections at her through the wall.]

[findsrisks]

[Well, that's better than nothing. She goes over to the door, and she's speaking loudly enough so that she can be heard through the wall.]

Why are you two fighting about toys?

[thalassino]

He left his legos on the floor and I stepped on one!

Nuh-uh, you stole my legos and forgot to put them back!

I did not, you liar! Sis, tell him I did not and he's a liar!

[The sister looks at Nanaki and sighs heavily. This is her life.]

[findsrisks]

Legos, huh? So what were you building?

[She's purposefully not addressing a specific boy, to try to see which one will accidentally admit to playing with the legos and leaving them out.]

[thalassino]

[There's silence. Neither one of them remembers what they were building at this point... They'd both been building something together, hadn't they?]

[findsrisks]

...you don't even remember, do you?

[thalassino]

He still stole the square blocks! He knows I like them!

[The brother on this side of the room looks extremely offended at that implication. He would never! His brother just LOSES things!]

[findsrisks]

And how are you going to get the square blocks back from him with a wall in-between you two?

[thalassino]

I took all my blocks on this side before we built the wall! Now our things won't get mixed up at all. They can't.

And I don't have to step all over his messes anymore. This wall is great!

This wall is not great! You keep making me give messages back and forth between you and you make me coordinate when one of you needs to use the bathroom and we have two separate dinnertimes so you don't have to talk to each other and it's ridiculous!

[findsrisks]

[She looks at the sister, then back to the room with the two boys in it. This is going to take a bit of work.]

Yeah no, this isn't going to work. Either you two make up and stop being so dumb about this, or I'll knock down the wall myself and you two get to bond over cleaning up the mess.

[thalassino]

Can we just knock it down? I don't think I'm strong enough...

[But wait, Nanaki looks like a mage! She could probably BLAST the wall down, that would teach her brothers!]

[findsrisks]

[That's exactly what she's going to do, but she wanted to give the boys the option of cooperating first.]

Don't worry, I got this.

[She'll have to use fire to do it, but she's trying to be careful and not catch anything in the room on fire as she blasts through the wall.]

Wait, wait, don't -

Our wall!

[BOOM! The wall is gone. It was the only destroyable wall in the room, so everything else is just fine. Both boys stare at each other for a minute.]

Girls are scary.

Yeah... no girls allowed in our room!

Ugh, fine!

[She turns to smile at Nanaki.]

Thanks. Honestly, I'd rather not be in their room anyway. They DO leave stuff all over the floor! Umm, here, I found this in the jar I was using to climb in the window!

[The sister digs in her pocket and pulls out... three mp potions!]

[findsrisks]

[Well that's super-useful! She'll go ahead and take the potions.]

Thanks! And if they give you any more trouble, just let me know. I'm sure they'd behave better if all the legos they were arguing over were suddenly one melted pile or something.

[That last part she says a bit loudly, moreso to scare the boys into behaving than as a real threat.]

[No, don't melt the legos! Nanaki is even worse than their sister! They nod vigorously, and the sister escorts Nanaki out.]
