[ Player Name ] : Famine

[ Timezone ] : Central
[ Other Characters ] : None because I idled out like an asshole

[ Character's Name ] : Trunks Briefs (Future Trunks)
[ Character's Age ] : 20, but with weird time shenanigans involved.
[ Series ] : Dragonball Z
[ Canon Point ] : Cell Games, after he gets shot through the heart and you're to blame, you give love a bad name

[ History ] :
Future Trunks @ DBZ Wiki

[ Personality ] :
Overall, Trunks is a rather polite and serious young man--more so than one would expect from his age and indeed far more so than his counterpart from the normal timeline. Trunks grew up in a world of desperation and fear, and it shows--he's always looking over his shoulder, always cautious, always guarded, always trying to find a way to become stronger. He has a deep-seated need to protect those who cannot protect themselves, especially children. By his nature, he's kind and would prefer peace to constant fighting, but knows that his power obligates him to defend others. He's intelligent as well, though he can be hotheaded and impulsive, and even cocky when he thinks he has the advantage. Above all, he is loyal and a determined fighter, unwilling to give up and admit defeat even when he has been sorely beaten. He inherited more than a little of his father's pride and honor, even if he usually doesn't let it control him.

Growing up as he did had a lot to do with the way he's turned out as a young man. Aside from his nature, Trunks is also prone to reflection and can sometimes be caught in a flashback, when triggered. He acts desperately around the androids, and these moments are probably his most impulsive: such as firing ki blasts at close range without warning, jumping into a fight that everyone else had agreed to make one-on-one, threatening a damaged Android 16--who had offered to help fight Cell, etc. In contrast, when he faced Frieza, a tyrant responsible for the death of billions of people, he was calm, even cocky...because he knew he was stronger. The fact that he's from the future gives him some knowledge of the way things should play out, and he tends to panic when things go 'wrong'. He doesn't like being surprised--and he definitely doesn't like being snuck up on, though good luck managing that.

Due to his childhood and his training, Trunks is a combat pragmatist who always--or almost always--gives everything he's got in a fight. The only time that was an exception was when he delayed powering up to fight Perfect Cell to spare Vegeta's pride, a perfect example of his respect for his father and desire for Vegeta's acceptance and pride. Unlike the other Earth fighters, Trunks usually is mostly silent while fighting. He doesn't ever call his attacks like the others do, for instance, and he's not really above fighting dirty either.

Unfortunately for him, being self-taught in a lot of his development as a fighter--even his time training in the Room of Spirit and Time with Vegeta was largely spent by himself--Trunks is prone to making mistakes. When he powered up to Ultra Super Saiyan in his fight against Perfect Cell, he didn't have the experience to realize that the massive increase in power also came with a decrease of speed and mobility, as well as the form's immense drain on his energy to maintain, and he got soundly trounced. When Cell pointed out his mistake, Trunks lost all hope of winning and gave up the fight--but he still had enough fire in him to sass at Cell.

One of the reasons Trunks is more restrained and polite than his main timeline self is the lack of his father, Vegeta, in his childhood. Instead, his main influences were his mother Bulma and, perhaps more importantly, Gohan. Trunks is incredibly close to his mother, and he was close to Gohan while the older half-Saiyan was alive. Having their influence was a good part of what makes Trunks so reserved and polite. However, when given the chance to meet his father, Trunks wanted desperately to prove his worth to Vegeta and gain his acceptance. Thus, he kinda followed Vegeta around like a lost puppy and refused to do anything that might hurt his father's pride. When he found out about Vegeta's reaction to his temporary death (which occurs after the canon point he's pulled from,) he was actually happy about it.

Since spending more time with Vegeta, he's kinda gained some more of the man's mannerisms--he's a bit more cocky now, and definitely crosses his arms intimidatingly and stares more often. This seems to be mostly because it's how his father acts and after spending two years around the guy exclusively...well, you'd change a bit too. However, he's still basically the same, personality wise. Maybe a bit more reserved. He hasn't had much social interaction in the last two years.

Lastly, to balance out the OPness of his abilities, there's a major aspect of his personality--Trunks doesn't really like to fight like a full-blooded Saiyan does, certainly he would never think of doing anything to harm anyone who didn't do something to damn well deserve it--unless he had absolutely no other choice. He fights because his power and the circumstances of his world obligates him to, not because he enjoys it, and certainly not because he's driven to do so.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
strengths ;
- absurdly strong, ridiculously fast, capable of punching mountains into gravel, etc.
- energy control gives him the ability to fly, enhance his strength further, and shoot things with laser beams. He can also suppress his own energy level and sense that of others.
- SWORD FIGHTIN'! his sword's broken though :C
- what doesn't kill him quite literally makes him stronger
- can take a shitton of damage like a boss, he's generally more resilient than a normal human--illness and injury have to be serious to take him down, and he generally recovers faster.
- determined
- loyal
- smart, especially where mathematics and engineering are concerned, if he ever gets the chance to show it off

weaknesses ;
- lack of experience. This is the big one--it especially tends to mess with him when fighting stronger opponents. He makes stupid mistakes and it ends up with him getting his ass kicked.
- pride. This can combine with the above weakness to give a one-two punch of fucking up that will end with his ass getting kicked 'round the schoolyard.
- impulsive. At least sometimes, he'll fly epically off the handle and run screaming headlong into danger--this is generally where his family and friends are concerned. (See: the dozens of times in the series/movies where he tries to run to Vegeta's defense.) Or if the androids are involved.
- vulnerability to magic. He's never really encountered or defended against it.
- prone to introspection and fits of melancholy. I don't even know how else to describe it except for somewhat mild PTSD--he can be triggered into flashbacks, generally of things and people exploding or his mentor Gohan's death. These don't generally impair him from functioning, but it will quite obviously distract him.
- idk if this is a weakness so much as inconvenience, but Trunks' metabolism is far and away higher than a normal person, so he generally eats a lot of food when he can. Not nearly as much as a full-blooded Saiyan, but he can pack food away if it's there for him to.

[ Other Important Facts ] :
Trunks still has no tail, and therefore there will be no rampaging monkeybeast shenanigans.

He has gained another level of the Super Saiyan transformation, which turns him into an angry porcupine. I mean mighty glacier. Seriously he can't move worth a shit but will punch your face inside out if you let him. He also has his normal Super Saiyan transformation, which is much faster but not as MIGHTY.

Actually, I figured they didn't really interact that much apart from that one chapter. Sebastian doesn't actually care too much for the reapers unless they pose a threat to his acquisition of Ciel's soul or stand in the way of his goal.

Ronald in turn doesn't pose a threat at all to this goal seeing as Sebastian beat him quite easily. I figure they wouldn't really interact all that much. Bas doesn't find him interesting and Ronald is skittish around him seeing as he was beaten into a near bloody pulp the last time they met. Not to mention that reaper-demon racial bias and all.

Question!

[personal profile] snagglefang 2012-08-27 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
On the off chance that it's possible, would Kuro be able to speak outright to anyone? What I mean is, instead of only being able to speak telepathically to other mythical creatures, can he speak to anyone while in Vatheon either verbally and/or telepathically?

Third Person Sample:

Cold.

It was unbelievably cold.

With each step further into that thick mist, Yukio could feel that deathly chill sink past his thick military coat and into his bones. "I wish that I had packed a set of gloves," Yukio muttered as he drew his hands up to his mouth and blew some heat into them, the corners of his mouth twitching downward as the heat was quickly stolen away by the dense mist that surrounded him.
"Figures..." He muttered, and shoved them back into his pockets. Pausing in his aimless wondering, Yukio turned his head towards the sound of someone else's voice softly chanting.

It was the start of a prayer that father had taught him and Rin a long time ago- a prayer used more as a superstition than an actual prayer. "O Divine Eternal Father, in union with Your Divine Son and the Holy Spirit, and through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg you to destroy the power of Your greatest enemy – the evil spirits. Cast them into the deepest recesses of hell and chain there forever! Take possession of Your Kingdom which You have created and which is rightfully Yours. Heavenly Father, give us the reign of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I repeat this prayer out of pure love for You with every beat of my heart and with every breath I take. Amen."

As the last word was uttered, the figure stepped within perfect view of the young exorcist. A familiar face looked back at Yukio- a face that he had thought he would never be able to see- not after that night. The night before he left to attend True Cross Academy.

Shirou.

"Father...?" Yukio muttered, a bit thickly, for it seemed as if his jaw refused to move, due to being stuck in a sense of shell shock as the man before him ducked his head slightly as he crossed himself. Yukio watched as his protector touched first his forehead, then chest, then left shoulder and finally the right. "Yukio... You were supposed to protect Rin. What happened to you?" Shirou asked, as dark red eyes locked with his own teal colored eyes- only the thin layer of glass provided a slight filter of the man's disgust.

"I... I am trying father... I'm a paladin...Just like you were." Yukio answered, as a chill slid down his spine. Something was not right- why was the man that he strived to become like suddenly treating him as if he was one of the possessed? "A demon paladin?" Sneered Shirou, as his hand drifted down to handle the gun at his waist. "Don't make me laugh... No Brother Slayer would ever be graced with such a high title." The clergyman snarled, as he pointed the gun between Yukio's eyes and pulled down the safety lock.

"Brother- slayer?" Yukio repeated, as he suddenly lost his balance and collapsed to the ground- his black exorcist coat drenched with something much slicker than mere dew. "I- I didn't murder him..." Yukio murmured, mostly to himself, even as the feeling of metal pressed against his forehead- the feeling of a impersonal barrel. "You did," Shirou coldly answered, as his finger pulled the trigger back.

Silence. Once again, Yukio was surrounded by the silence of the mist- alone. The whole confrontation nothing but a twisted nightmare brought to life before him.
