[ History ] :
[ Personality ] :
Scorponok is a minion. Since he had been protoformed, he’d been in the lower denomination of Predacon society, and that, to be honest, was the way he liked it. It was simple, clean, and he knew exactly where he belonged. The job of ‘master/leader/boss’ is currently held by Megatron, and Scorponok is slavishly loyal to him. Anyone who dares to imply that Megatron might not be the best leader is due to an attack from him, as if he lets that go, then what use would he be?
Most of the time, he represses his own thoughts on Megatron, if they don’t fit what he thinks of as fitting how he should be thinking about Megatron. These days, without Dinobot there to shield him from the full brunt of Megatron’s anger, these thoughts are coming far more often then he likes. Scorponok finds himself spending more and more time repressing and redirecting his thoughts and anger at Megatron. He spends time with Inferno as a sort of penitence tool- if he thinks poorly of one of Megatron’s plans or is tempted to snark back at him, then he spends time with the ant in order to get his mind back in the proper mindset.
That said, he doesn’t bow down to everyone. He has a backbone; he just only shows it when Megatron isn’t there. He’s inclined to snarl and snark at his teammates, and he delights in shooting the Maximals, and not just because he knows it brings him scant favor in Megatron’s eyes. He’s a low level sadist, and he delights in seeing his enemies cower before him. Unfortunately, he’s also a coward, and isn’t all that good at fighting. He has a low level AI drone that he’s programmed, his Cyberbee, and he dotes over it, always trying to upgrade it- all in the plan to be more worthy of Megatron’s favor, of course. The problem is, he’s more than a little inept at programming AIs, and his nanotoxins don’t always do what he plans. Most of the time, they backfire on him, which just makes him all the more determined to do better next time. As such, he’s a workaholic, and he tends to forget to recharge and fuel up, which just adds to his inability at times, not that he ever connects the dots.
He’s insecure about his position as 2IC and it shows. He is always trying to push his will on his teammates, and in response, they react with distain, as the only reason he got the rank was because he was the only loyal one of Megatron’s minions. He hates the thought of anyone betraying Megatron, and has been known to attack his own teammates at the implication that they were disloyal.
[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
He has been able to shoot a toxin from his tail, although, as it was only the once, it evidently is a difficult feat, and most likely uses up much of his fuel, as well as the neurotoxin being slow to accumulate. He’s used this exactly once in the entire show.
His alt is an extremely large scorpion.
Also inherent to his species is an inbuilt form of almost-telepathy. It’s really just a secure shortwave transmission over a communications frequency, but it seems to act like telepathy, unless the person receiving it decides to let it play out loud.
He has Infrared vision that he seems to be able to toggle on and off.
He can shoot missiles from his claw.
His other claw is where his cyberbee drone hooks up. When they aren’t hooked together, Scorponok can control the cyberbee through what seems to be a mental bond, but is mostly likely a modified version of the transmission frequency.
Scorponok made the cyberbee, evidently, from scratch, and has been shown to have some level of technical ability, from working on neurotoxins to fixing random machinery around their ship.
His main source of energy is something called energon. In this universe, it’s a crystal, although in other universes it’s been a liquid, leading to the idea that it’s mostly refined in those forms, as this is raw energon in the Beast Wars series. Thankfully, Scorponok has a fuel converter that turns mostly anything organic into a replacement fuel. It’s not efficient, which means he needs to eat far more often than he would need to otherwise, but it works.
