Prompt - The city of Vatheon is under attack (again). Giant sea-creatures are wrecking the city (again). Time to prepare for battle.

It seemed to have been a while since the krakens last invaded Vatheon. Rita shoulda figured they'd show up eventually, and at an inevitably bad timing.

Like when she was in the middle of enjoying a nice, long nap. Even the nearest kraken's high-pitched, shrieking roar only narrowly woke the researcher up, and even then, she spent a few seconds covering her ears with her pillow, as if the beast would go away if she ignored it.

Then, she got up, muttering unintelligible curses on the pile of calamari while quickly slipping on a pair of shoes, and checking that a few items were still on her person. Goggles, check. Magic lens, check. Blastia formula, check - not that she needed it, but she still didn't quite feel right without it...

Oh. This'd be a good time to try that wand she'd bought from the Nostalgia Nook. A Maximized Wand of Fireballs, it had been described as... Honestly, Estelle could probably come up with a cooler name at some point, after Rita had used it to cook the stupid monster down the street.

Slipping the wand into one sleeve, Rita quickly headed down the stairs, and out the door, staring at the creature.

Naturally, she'd been the first to get outside. Why no one else slept in clothes they felt right heading outside in, Rita would never quite entirely understand - it was so impr-

Right. Kraken shrieking right in front of her. Staring at her, and raising a tentacle. That could only be met with one force...

"O flickering blaze, burn! FIREBALL!", she shouted - choosing not to use the wand this time, instead simply throwing several small orbs of burning energy at the tentacle. Encouragingly, the creature yelped in response - this one wasn't that strong.

Good. That meant that she could find the others soon, and finish off this entire mess. She couldn't help but wonder what creepy recipes Yuri had learned from who-knows-where for using the corpse of this thing... But then, she'd simply find out once it was dead.
