It's okay, but there is something I'd like to mention first. If you really do insist on only one Link being able to apply, then I'd like to put a hold on my acceptance - the other player reserved and I didn't, and they reserved before I put my app in, no less (which is why I originally presented it as a challenge, and only changed it around when I was informed that we'd most likely be able to both app).
I do think both Links should be able to be apped, since they do represent a canon AU - the Hero's Shade version of Link is the one who survived the final battle, was sent back in time, went through Majora's Mask, and ultimately became the Hero's Shade (as seen in Twilight Princess). They start out as the same person, but ultimately end up very, very different. And it is an AU, and it is canon, so I do think they should both be allowed in as canon AUs of each other.
If you really do want to just have one or the other, though, then I won't join until the other player puts their app in, as a challenge (or just doesn't app, up to them).

Ocarina of Time Link becomes the Hero Shade, and thus even if they are from different routes and change, they are still the same character. It would be similar to apping a Devil Survivor character from a different route--though it changes them, we would not allow the same character to be applied for from a different route, for they would still be the same character, even if the route changes their personality.
Therefore, while Link would be appable from the downfall timeline of Ocarina of Time, only the Hero's Shade or Ocarina of Time Link (Or Majora's Mask Link, for that matter), could exist in the game at one time.
Therefore, we will suspend your acceptance to see if the original reserver applies; if they do not, you will be accepted into the game. If they do, we will treat your application as a challenge application. We hope that's acceptable, and thank you for your patience while we worked through this!
