Climbed up the water spout Who: Yamame and anybody What: Finding a place to spin a web When: Early evening Where: Lower District, east side, not far from the forest. Style: Starting as Prose, but I'll follow Status: Open as a dark blowhole!
Spiders don't normally whistle. If they did, they probably wouldn't be whistling "The Itsy-Bitsy Spider".
This one was.
This one was also shaped like a human girl, albeit wearing a dress that resembled a spider's body, sauntering happily through the Lower District, visiting houses and apartments and dark alleyways. Human-style dwellings were so soft, and some of these were so full of appliances, they just weren't really her style, but the buildings were fascinating to look at, and surely there would be a nice crevice somewhere for a web to be built-- even if she didn't need it to catch prey, with so many food vendors, and humans just walking around.
Yamame's mouth moistened at the thought of so many humans just walking around unprotected. She could infect each and every one with a different disease, and there would still be more! Even if some of them died, the way humans tended to do, there would be so many more!
And even more fascinating things were in this city, creatures that were neither human nor youkai, and had aspects of both or neither!
She hadn't meant to come here, and she still didn't know how she had, but she was going to enjoy every minute she spent here! She'd check out the nightlife later tonight-- there had to be a party going on somewhere, right?
But first, she needed a web to call home. Nothing fancy, just two sturdy supports in a nice, dark place, aboveground or below.
Were there sewers here? Those would be perfect-- dark, damp, and lush with vermin to feed on and plagues to play with.
"... out came the sun, and dried up all the rain," she whistled, looking around for manhole covers. "And the itsy-bitsy spider climbed up the spout again!"
