RPG Event - character classes
◣ Character Classes ◢
First a little run down of what each stat means.
HP - Health points. Pretty straight forward, this is your character's health. The higher their hit points, the more attacks they can take.
MP - Magic points. Again, pretty straight forward, this is how often they can cast magic. The lower the stat, the fewer the times they can cast.
PHYS ATT - A rough indicator of how much damage a character will be dealing to an enemy when punching them stoutly in the snout.
MAGIC ATT - A rough indicator of how much damage a character will be dealing to an enemy when they stoutly throw a fireball at its snout.
DEFENCE - How easily a character can defend themselves against an attack. The higher the stat, the less fazed they will be.
SPEED - How quick a character is and how skilled they are at dodging attacks.
STAMINA - How long a character can battle without a break. If this is low, a character may need to fall back on occasion to rest.
Now, as you can see, rather than giving you exact numbers, we have gone with six levels. At level three, their ability is average. At zero, their ability is non-existent, and at six, it would be as good as it could ever be. When buffed by a spell (or de-buffed by an enemy or battle condition) their ability will rise or drop one level.
So, for example, a rogue's speed is set at 5/6. Should they have their agility buffed via a spell, it will rise one level to 6/6.
Now, because this is just a two week curse, we are not going to be really exact with figures and damage bonuses and all. Just keep these rough guidelines in mind when playing your character in a battle. Remember that your character's normal abilities will be completely locked so those will not be affecting these battles. However, if your character is skilled at tactics (or alternatively, has never been in as much as a fist fight) then that is something to be taken into account when doing any battles.
Basically, when struck by this curse Batman and Mr. Rogers are going to be doing the same exact damage when attacking, but Batman's night vigilante schtick will probably mentally help him when in battle.
In addition to getting a brand new set of stats, your character will also be gifted with several new skills. At the start of the curse, you can pick several skills from the first tier skill list. Feel free to choose whatever you like. The amount of skills depends on your character class. Physically strong classes will have fewer skills initially than physically weaker classes. This to even things out. As your character levels up, they will gain a new skill (they won't need to remove an old skill, though). Once they are leveled up high enough they will be able to access second tier and third tier skills.
For information on how to level, please refer to our mod update on Sunday, in which we will be going into this.
Warrior - - -
statistics
Warrior, the quintessential RPG class. With high attack, high defence and high HP, the warrior is the hack 'em and slash 'em type. Magic is like a fifth cousin three times removed to the warrior, the kind you only meet once in a while at a strange family reunion and you whisper to your mom 'who is that?'. A warrior doesn't get magic, a warrior doesn't need magic. Who needs magic when you could be bashing your opponent on the head with a big hunk of steel/iron/stone?
Not a warrior, that's who.
Upon waking up, your character will find themselves owning one (1) warrior outfit and one (1) new fancy heavy weapon. In the event of this being a one handed weapon, they might also find a shield.

Rogue - - -
statistics
The rogue. For all of us who look battle in the eye and decide to steal some loot instead. The rogue class is designed for speed: avoiding attacks, sneaky backstabs, looting an opponent's occasionally odd stash - because really, what is that crab doing with a hi-potion? If that is your game, then the rogue is your player. Of course all that speed comes at its cost too. Attack-wise a rogue doesn't really excel, and let's not even talk about that stamina. You better get in and finish the battle quick, because otherwise you will be hiding behind huge rocks, trying to catch your breath.
Upon waking up, your character will find themselves the proud owner of one (1) rogue outfit, one (1) light piece of weaponry and one (1) insatiable desire to steal everything that isn't nailed down.

Cleric - - -
statistics
Where there is war and battle, there is injury. And where there is injury, there is people trying to record it for Vatheon's Funniest Home Videos. But behind that person, there is the cleric, the healer, the white mage, the medic. Though not blessed with the best stats for battle, the cleric is invaluable for survival. Especially long battles become impossible to fight without a cleric on hand to dole out cures and antidotes. And much like the majestic magikarp, the cleric has some good magic attack spells. They just need to unlock them. Slowly. But one day.
One day.
Upon waking up, your character will find themselves owning one (1) set of magical robes, one (1) weapon designed for spell casting, and one (1) additional set of potions consisting of five (5) potions, one (1) revive, three (3) antidote and three (3) stamina replenishing potions.

statistics
But where is the fun in magic if you can't use it to set your opponents on fire? Sure, the cleric might be highly useful for healing people, but the mage is the one that looked at their magical skills and thought 'I'm going to set someone on fire'. While as magically skilled as the cleric, the mage is focused on the offence. They might not be able to use that staff to clock an enemy on the head, but who needs that when you can spear your opponent with an icicle?

Bard - - -
statistics
Bards. What can we say about bards. Well, don't expect them to fight for one, man. That's like so harsh, dude. They just aren't in that kinda violent space, bro. What bards can be depended on for is excellent buffs and debuffs. With their instrument at their side, along with some (skilled??) singing and (possible??) dancing, they will be invaluable if you are looking for someone to boost your stats while chipping away at your opponent's stats. When used with the correct tactics, bards are capable of helping characters overcome their class weaknesses. Just make sure they aren't knocked out first.
Upon waking up, your character will find them the owners of one (1) bard outfit, one (1) light weapon and one (1) new instrument along with the skills to play it. Well, play it. We never said that they have to sound good, right? Just as long as it works for the spells.
