Below is a place to thread out quick little conversations with the NPCs that aren't worth an entire log. Vatheon's staple NPCs will have postings here, and all the other new quest NPCs will simply be listed under the "Quest NPCs" comment header. Please put in the subject line which quest you're talking with an NPC about!

[Considering that's likely all he can wear since he doesn't really have any legs.]

First, you must learn to trust each other completely.

[The man waves his arms with a flourish, revealing... a ridiculous obstacle course, complete with spouting flames and falling blades. He holds up a rope.]

Hold out your wrists.

[Of course she did! To a proper warrior, that shouldn't be a problem.]

You just have to trust in your own capabilities. Let the ADRENALINE from battle coursing through your veins carry you through. You'll find that your wounds don't hurt as much anymore, and that you can keep on going until the fight is over!

[She nods seriously, taking her hand back.]

You'll find yourself in a spot eventually. When you feel you've been pushed to your limit, when the enemy has you cornered, look deep inside yourself and...

[The woman flexes again, this time giving off an odd sort of sparkle.]

Let the ADRENALINE coursing through your body carry you through!

[It won't exactly be all he's got, seeing as he can't flashstep. His act is so much more impressive when he can pretty much make it all about Cal. Now he's going to have to take a more conventional ventriloquist approach and actually stay in sight.

Then again, it's not that conventional. He can't resist throwing in a rap. The initial beatboxing comes from his own mouth, but then he switches to Cal for the lyrics.]

I imagine in Vatheon, yes. On Alternia, they actually travel in large herds. It's very inspiring.

It's a shame Vatheon hasn't brought more of them in. I am certain that Arty would appreciate the company.

Oh, nothing much. Just trying to slide on out of here before the manager pops up. You know how it goes.

If it'll help me keep the people who are important to me alive during this curse, then I'd like to know. Since I can't help them by fighting, I need to find some other way to help them out.

Buddy, if I didn't draw attention to myself, how would all you newbie rogues find me?

[He actually sounds annoyed. It's not his fault that the setup of this whole quest has it so he has to be relatively easy to spot! If he had his way he'd be cleaning out this casino and ditching the whole damn city! Being an NPC is suffering, though, and he has to keep lurking this casino for two whole weeks with the manager growing increasingly angry at him.]

It does take quite a bit of practice, but...

[The tiny man gasps suddenly, pointing behind Fai. There's a huge minotaur right behind him, just about to swing and crush them both! If he could bend time, then he could cast a spell quickly enough to save them...]

Naw, it was no trouble. Those little guys aren't too bright, if you know what I mean. [He waves a hand dismissively.]

So about that quest reward...

I'm not certain if Vatheon is ready for a herd of animals of such... radiance. Luckily he has you to be his companion.

[Station master cannot abide by animals that have a better moustache than he does. Ever wondered why there aren't any walruses in Vatheon? Yeah.]

Just a wave of the hand, eh? A good mage can do that. Oh, we still need casting time, but time itself is a little more flexible than most people think.

[You could even say that it's bendable.]

[The second brother pops his head up at the window suspiciously, peering at Sola before opening it up.]

What do you want?

[Bro doesn't like to use potions, but... What the hell. Free shit. Maybe he can sell it off to someone.]

Eh, why not? Go for it.

[His sister seems to disagree with this course of action. She groans, rubbing her forehead.]

[No, this is helping immensely! Both boys seem to realize halfway into the rant how crappy their wall really is, and they start working to tear it down. If they want to build a proper wall, they're going to have to cooperate.

Of course, if they're cooperating, they'll probably make up.

The sister just kind of stares at Equius a bit.]

Umm... thanks. I think.

Oh, yes, yes. I'll make sure your points will be added to the total. As well as, hold still for a moment.

[He takes his bag of ingredients and goes inside for a bit, soon returning with a bag of... are those fresh scones.]

[For a few seconds, Bro is silent. Then he cracks a wide grin because... this is hilarious fourth wall breaking logic he can't argue with, really. It's definitely true.]

Hah, yeah, good point.

[Harsh, Station Master, everyone thought you were a cool dude. Another goblin goes flying and is face first into the fence before crumpling to the ground. Arty comes trotting up, wiping the sweat from his ripped chest and making sure his facial hair isn't too mussed up. Darkleer pats him on the hindquarters fondly before looking back to the Station Master.]

Well, we really should be going. I hope your cookies come out well- which reminds me, Arty was kind enough to milk himself and leave a few bottles in the bag as well. I'm sure you'll find they go with baked goods much better than the milk one usually finds in Vatheon.

[The first brother is in view! The other one is on the other side of the wall, and he's pretending he can't hear any of this for now.]

[Their sister is a little horrified at that and gives Gamzee another smack, turning red. Don't TOUCH it, Gamzee! The brothers just start laughing harder though. Hahaha, he touched his wiener and it honked!]

Well, you might have to talk sort of loud for both of them to hear you through the wall... but here, their room is this way.

[She leads him back to the boys' room. Sure enough, it's got a rickety wall right down the middle. One boy is visible, and he looks up curiously.]
