Below is a place to thread out quick little conversations with the NPCs that aren't worth an entire log. Vatheon's staple NPCs will have postings here, and all the other new quest NPCs will simply be listed under the "Quest NPCs" comment header. Please put in the subject line which quest you're talking with an NPC about!

You've come to the right place. Our class is unique in that we need our partners to function. Today, you'll be placing your trust in your partner completely.

[The scruffy man holds out a blindfold to Darkleer. Try to not get too excited.]

[Hey, they haven't even bought him dinner yet, he knows better than to assume! Rude. He takes the blindfold and gives it a suspicious glance before raising it to tie around his eyes.]

Now, try to sense your partner. Let them guide you safely through...

[BOOM! Sure sounds like blades chopping and fire spurting up at random now!]

This obstacle course!

[Is Darkleer's trust in Arty that complete? Can they communicate without words? Is their special ~friendship~ that deep? Well, in rpg land, it just might be.

Or maybe the skill master is trying to teach Arty something here, not Darkleer. Arty would find that he suddenly feels incredibly capable, like he could carry Darkleer across that whole obstacle course easily. He's strong, he's agile, he's smart, and he can do anything to protect his best friend!

It sounds very impressive, but I am more impressed by the fact that all of this apparently came from nowhere. Arty...?

[Seriously, there is nothing he won't do for or with something that has hooves. Vatheon underestimates him if he thinks he'll be the issue here. But only if Arty is okay with it.]

[Arty, as it turns out, is perfectly okay with it! Everything suddenly makes sense, and he gives a mighty rear up of confidence- mustache shining, abs flexing, and udder shaking. He swoops up a very confused Darkleer into his STRONG arms and dashes through the obstacle course like an elegant... something.]

[Something is happening here.]

[Yeah.]
