Below is a place to thread out quick little conversations with the NPCs that aren't worth an entire log. Vatheon's staple NPCs will have postings here, and all the other new quest NPCs will simply be listed under the "Quest NPCs" comment header. Please put in the subject line which quest you're talking with an NPC about!

Very well, then. You will have to complete...

[Suddenly, out of nowhere a huge obstacle course appears. It's got flames shooting from the ground, blades dropping from the sky, the whole works.]

The obstacle course of true friendship!

[ Duke stares at it blankly, but Lumen is bouncing about happily in circles about him. Clearly it thinks it looks like great fun. ]

... There is a catch, yes?

[ He's not going to just be able to walk through it, is he. ]

[The scruffy man nods, then walks over and... ties Duke to his pet.]

You must learn to act as one.

[ Duke and the spirit sort of... peer at each other for a long moment.

Duke isn't sure if the spirit needs to be close to its other parts, but it chimes at him and he quietly explains what he can't walk through and-

... Yeah. They make it through with maybe a little singeing. ]

[And in the process of making it through, they would both feel like they've somehow learned something. Friendship. No, the skill, not the feeling!]
