RPG event - Quest NPC Contact
◣ Quest NPC Contact ◢
Below is a place to thread out quick little conversations with the NPCs that aren't worth an entire log. Vatheon's staple NPCs will have postings here, and all the other new quest NPCs will simply be listed under the "Quest NPCs" comment header. Please put in the subject line which quest you're talking with an NPC about!

Yup, that's me. Cleric Skill Master. And they said I wouldn't amount to anything.

I'm not sure who "they" are, but it seems to me you've more than proven yourself, if you're good enough to pass on skills to other clerics.
no subject
So, what do you think of being a cleric so far? You don't look like you were a cleric before.
no subject
I wasn't, no, but "classes" as you know it don't exactly exist where I come from.
But it is interesting, so far. A step outside my comfort zone, but I haven't made too many mistakes yet.

[She sounds a little wry at that. What are the chances Hubert's party hasn't made mistakes? Abysmally low, that's what. Especially if he knows any warriors. Damn warriors don't know the meaning of a mana break...]

Well, at the moment it only consists of me, another cleric and a mage. It's been... interesting, to say the least.
[And by "interesting" he means they're a walking disaster waiting to happen.]

[Faith in God? Nah, that's not going to get most clerics anywhere. It's more faith that the cleric is always right.]
no subject
[Actually he was expecting something closer to faith in some deity or another (which would have been harder for him to grasp, not being religious himself) but "faith in yourself" makes sense.]
I see. If I don't believe in myself, how can my comrades be expected to believe in me as well. Is that about it?
no subject
[Hubert has learned the skill "Faith"!]

[He probably would have gotten that easier if Asbel was still around, but he would have easily been a warrior and done exactly that. For all of Pascal's impulsive nature, she's not nearly as reckless or would-be hero driven as Hubert's brother.
But it does make sense now that he's had it explained more.]
I see.
[He might actually be smiling, even as he gives a polite bow in gratitude.]
Thank you for imparting this knowledge to me.
