Below is a place to thread out quick little conversations with the NPCs that aren't worth an entire log. Vatheon's staple NPCs will have postings here, and all the other new quest NPCs will simply be listed under the "Quest NPCs" comment header. Please put in the subject line which quest you're talking with an NPC about!

Why DON'T you just smash down the wall? It's a stupid wall, anyway.

[The boy on this side of the room leaps to his feet, running over to the wall.]

No! If you push it down he'll get his mess on my side again!

So you constructed a wall? That seems to be something of an overreaction.

[He just kind of... taps on it, idly wondering how much force he would have to exert to ruin it.]

That's the only reason?

[The wall is pretty rickety. Darkleer could take it down easily, especially with Arty to help.]

I stepped on one of his legos.

[The boy pauses dramatically, looking up at Darkleer for effect.]

BAREFOOT.

[That was the last straw, okay?]

Why not hold his items hostage until he agrees to be cleaner? That seems easier than constructing a wall.

You mean like I get to keep his stuff unless he cleans up?!

[The sister is shaking her head vehemently over Darkleer's shoulder. No no no Darkleer, don't tell him something like that! They might murder each other!]

[Darkleer sees nothing wrong with that.]

[It is fortunate for this family that Arty does and Darkleer takes notices of his much more subtle head shake. Okay, new plan.]

Why won't he simply keep it clean in the first place? Did he agree to this wall?

[The other brother pipes up now. The wall isn't the thickest in the universe.]

I keep stuff in piles! Then I can see what I got. I can't just put it all in one toybox, that would take FOREVER to find things!

You're too young for a moirail, stop making piles.

Instead of making a wall for your room, why don't you make smaller walls for your toybox so the things can be separated?

[That's disregarded for the second idea.]

That sounds like a lot of work. And how could I fit everything in one box? There's not a toybox big enough! I'd need lots of boxes!

You know, if you took down this wall and stopped harassing your sister, I could possibly tell you. I'm an engineer, I'm quite certain I could figure it out.
