RPG event - Quest NPC Contact
◣ Quest NPC Contact ◢
Below is a place to thread out quick little conversations with the NPCs that aren't worth an entire log. Vatheon's staple NPCs will have postings here, and all the other new quest NPCs will simply be listed under the "Quest NPCs" comment header. Please put in the subject line which quest you're talking with an NPC about!

[Fai looks around then smiles at the boy.] I'm here to tell you a story.

[He looks pretty proud of himself. He probably has more treasure than anyone in Vatheon!]
Oh, a story? Okay. Umm, you can sit on my bed with me. Just don't step on anything.

[He'll just organize his piles while Fai decides.]

It all began in a kingdom where two princes resided. They were the best of friends..twin brothers born under an unfortunate star. The loved each other very much but they also fought at times, like any good brothers do. But no matter what they always knew that they would be together forever. They were sure of it.
Until one day they had a great fight. The older twin had left his treasures out just like this and the younger twin had gotten hurt. They were angry and so demanded that a great tower be built so they wouldn't have to fight over treasure any longer. The elder twin played in the highest room of the tower, while the younger stayed at the bottom. They could hear each other only if they shouted.
[Fai watches the boy to make sure he is listening.]
After many many years of playing alone in the tower, the treasures started to rust and wear away from being played with alone. You see..a magic spell had been placed on them that said if they weren't enjoyed by two people, then they would disappear along with the treasure that was most valuable. Once the elder twin learned of the curse, he searched desperately amongst the piles for that most valuable treasure but it was no where to be found.
It was then that he began to realize that the most valuable treasure was not there with him. That the key to keeping his treasures shiny, was to enjoy them with another. That most valuable treasure, was the brother he had lost. You see..no one else in the kingdom had that brother! That's why he was the most valuable. He could be claimed only by one.
But by then it was too late. The treasures wasted away because they were too plentiful to be loved by just one. But both boys were too proud to admit they were wrong or forgive the other. So they stayed separated..feeling more and more alone as their treasures wasted away.
Then one day the younger boy came down with a strange illness. He grew very sick. So sick that he couldn't play with his toys or shout at his brother. The tower became quiet. The older boy shouted for his brother but there was no response. Then suddenly a white note floated into the room. It read..
I'm sorry we have been apart for all these years. I missed being able to play with you, dear brother. But it seems my time is at an end. I wish I could have seen you one last time but we were both too proud. You will always be my greatest treasure.
The boy cried out for his twin but it was too late. Suddenly all the anger he had felt because of that fight years ago no longer seemed so important. All he wanted was to see his brother, and that was a wish that could not be granted. He lost all that time that he could have spent making memories with a brother he would never see again. For you see..on this kingdom sickness and death were permanent. The boy would never return to life again.
