NEXT MONTH'S MINGLE LOG UPCOMING

Set into motion on the first of October of Year 3, the Station Master in cooperation with the Welcoming Committee decided to enact a monthly gathering on the first of every month. The main aims of this gathering being: To welcome and help settle newcomers into the city in an efficient way, to encourage socialization outside of the network, and to allow the residents to take part in an engagement between both locals and foreigners. Located in a nook directly on the Plaza is where these gatherings will be held. Sounds like a smooth enough operation, right? Well, so long as there isn't any weird curse going on, it generally is. Meet new people, old acquaintances or familiar faces that may have recently arrived, and maybe even people you've met before via the network but not yet in person. Don't think your character would attend? That's perfectly fine - although if you'd like some forced incentive, there's more than enough to be found simply by walking publicly in the streets during these events. The locals are quite passionate about their gatherings, after all - you can easily have your character dragged along by force. Liquor and food all prepared too, so there's that as well should it be any incentive. Plus, a monthly gathering in the Plaza provides a great opportunity to get your rejuvenation in if you haven't touched the coral lately.


☆ MYSTERY EFFECTS
Specific details per mingling will be located in its respective log when it goes up as different logs may have different effects (that is, either the locals might use some unorthodox way to try and break the ice or a curse might be ongoing during attendance).

☆ WELCOMING COMMITTEE
The Welcoming Committee is generally present and highly active during these gatherings as they are the face of these events. That, and it is an excellent opportunity to exhibit just what their group is for - welcoming newcomers! The Welcoming Committee has its own booth, although it isn't restricted to said booth - plenty of individual members that are present can be found throughout the gatherings passing out welcoming brochures and helping newcomers in general.

☆ ENERGETIC LOCALS
While the Welcoming Committee is a big representation of these events, the locals are the guys doing the dirty work. They're the ones who provide any and all food, do the clean-up duty, and help with passing out welcoming brochures to newcomers. Although a fairly passive force overall, quite a few might seem pestersome in their enthusiasm to greet newcomers.

☆ FOOD & DRINKS
Hopefully your standard edible food is to your tastes - and if not, well... at least it all looks very visually appealing and appropriately themed. Plenty of colorful drinks line the bar as well, both alcoholic and non-alocoholic. There's also plenty of themed sweets for those who favor that sort of taste.


☆ HOTEL ROOMS
It's understandable for a new arrival to be unready to take the plunge into deciding on a residency; therefore, hotel keycards are passed out for these new arrivals so they have a place to crash - a simple yet elegant hotel and only residency located in the Middle District near the Plaza. Ideally, they are expected to move into their own place as soon as possible, so the keycards only work for a single week - then it's either ownership or hoboship ahoy.
