On either side of the LOWER DISTRICT, resides two large homes. These buildings, near estate-esque, are the largest vacant buildings in the entirety of Vatheon. Both buildings lay host to a variety of balconies and gardens, as well as secret entrances and passageways. They are of the utmost-fashioned homes and despite being in the lower district, are nothing but the best. There are approximately ten bedrooms, three baths, a large and small kitchen, and various other rooms. Both are suited with grand entrances and mirroring spiral staircases. And did I mention that they were mirror-images of one another? Exactly the same. | ONE Faris Scherwiz | TWO Solf J. Kimblee | |

[ OTHER BUILDINGS/SPECIAL HOUSING ]
[ Naoya's Place ]
Near the Library and not far off from the Grand Steps is an incomplete, abandoned building. It was apparently left during construction due to the fact the residents who use the Library complained about the noise, putting the remodeling to a complete halt. It has two simple floors, and one current resident, though no one is really sure who it is. From the second floor, a window overlooks the steps going up, the Library, and the path leading further into the Middle district's public areas. It's the perfect vantage point where one can be aware of those leaving as well as going past the house.
The inside of the house itself is basic, due to the fact it's unfinished; the furnishings seem to have been hastily left or brought there, and the paint isn't even on the walls, yet. Plumbing was finished beforehand, and it has running water and a single bathroom on the first floor near the steps leading up to the second floor. On top of having a decent it view, the building offers two doors in and out; both have locks for security. The back door leads to an alleyway behind the library, where one could slip out of sight in the event of an intrusion should something startle occupant.
The second floor bedroom contains a single set of the basics (moved in by its current resident, most likely): a small twin sized bed with red-colored sheets, a large wooden table with one matching, wooden chair; a small bookcase with books from the nearby Library checked out, and a reading lamp and small end table near the window overlooking the Grand Steps with a large armchair, for reading. Blinds cover this window most of the time, but passers-by will likely get the distinct feeling someone is living here. With Naoya's departure from the bubble, Matthew has taken up residence here. However, after Matthew's and Billy's departure, people may start to notice that a new resident has moved into the abandoned, incomplete house at the turning of the new year. And Ryoko seems to be making an effort to finish it. Without hiring workers and not too much noise or mess, to various degrees of success/failure. Unfortunately, it seems her work has been left unfinished with her departure.

A one story building (with a basement) the size of an average house, much like a warehouse. It is fairly stark, with a door to the basement to the right upon walking in. The main room is the living room, with a door to the (small) kitchen, which leads to the three bedrooms and two bathrooms - one full, one half (the half is in the master bedroom, which is his). There's no carpet on the floor, it's all cement. The rooms, of course, could be changed if anyone moved in. The doors are heavy metal, and have an odd habit of opening on their own, even inside the house itself.
It is decked out to look pieced together, with painted arrows on the floor, etc. The key to the basement (which he has modified into a lab) only had one copy.
The outside looks scraggly and run-down, and not much of the modifications (mostly just gigantic stitches or arrows and the like) change that. To the side of the building there is a large pen for Chocobos of various colours.

If you're walking in the Lower District at night, you might see something that looks like a small cabin made of large sticks with a single glowing lantern hanging in the front. It looks quite old- apparently, it used to belong to a hermit that decided that it would be better for him to live away from the city. When the hermit eventually passed away, it was abandoned. Until now.
There's not much inside, except for a few things, like a table, a rocking chair, a really strange painting of a dog, and a large loom, where the beginning of a tapestry is being woven on. There isn't really much else, and there isn't anything technological inside- the owner of this place doesn't like using it that often.
Oddly enough, the cabin doesn't seem to be in the same place twice. But maybe that's just your imagination. Cabins can't move... can they?

There's no better place for a pirate than the abandoned old pirate ship that crashed its way into the bubble so long ago. Motochika's taken it upon himself to claim the place as any good plunderer would, though he hasn't quite kicked out the old ghost pirate residents yet either. So within the ship, all the ghost pirates and the original traps and wacky stairways have been left untouched and they're still present to greet anyone who bothers to enter. However Motochika thought to improve it a bit further, actually adding more traps like rolling boulders, exact trap doors, spiked gates, and more. With Motochika's departure from the bubble, the pirate ship was taken over by Marquise Spinneret Mindfang, though the traps remain. Although with her departure, it remains abandoned once more. Recently, it's gained a resident of a more feline persuasion (one Boris Airay) who seems a little too intent on old cannons and seeing if he can make them work again. However, Boris has also recently departed, thereby leaving it abandoned yet again. Despite the disappearance of numerous previous residents, Reaver decided to move in... and met the same unfortunate fate. Luffy D. Monkey later decided to test his luck, but even the great pirate was unable to stay for long. Perhaps it's due to the haunted factor that its residents consistently disappear?

Located in the Lower District, the house itself resembles those in the Phanga neighbourhood, only somewhat grander; it has three stories, high ceilings and bay windows. The top floor contains a master bedroom and a bathroom. The middle floor contains two large bedrooms, another full-sized bathroom, and a spare room. The ground floor contains a modern open kitchen connected to the dining room, a living room, a study, a cosy music room and a half-bathroom for guests.
The interior is a mash-up of modern and traditional Japanese style. The full-sized bathrooms in particular are resplendent.
However, unlike the houses in the Phanga neighbourhood, this house comes with an extravagantly sized garden. Situated within is a large pond, stables capable of comfortably accommodating up to four chocobos, and a decent lawn besides. At the end of the garden stands a small traditional dojo, perfect for a samurai's training needs. Celes is calling this home now and is starting a rose garden along the edge of the lawn.

At the very outskirts of the city near the forest, there is an abandoned three story building. The outside hasn't yet been painted, exposing the plain, but very solid, grey concrete walls for all to see. Thankfully, the lovely hole in the second storey wall has finally been fixed after more than six months. Inside is a little better, having beige paint on the walls, basic working plumbing, decent lighting and a kitchen, though not all windows have glass in them. There's some furnishings, but most are plain. Chairs, a couch on each floor, a wooden table, beds, some paintings (including one of Vatheon's beach), vases, and a large, wide screen TV.
No one knows exactly why work on the building suddenly stopped, but it's since been taken over by cannibals who've marked it as their territory with splashes of bright orange paint across the doors. A grey flag with a stripe of orange hangs from a pole stuck out of a glassless window. Outside, there is an orange rose bush and an olive sapling, as well as two sizeable soil filled holes with a tiny peach sprout growing in each. A plethora of mugs line the ground, and are filled with plants at various stages of growth: grasses, herbs, beans, tulips, anything that can be grown in a small pot is being grown in these mugs. A number of the plants in the mugs are flowering. Two orange rose bushes frame the front entrance, while near the back of the building, there is a pond filled with water lillies.
If you wish to talk to any of the residents at their base, it might be best to let them know beforehand or catch their attention by waiting outside the building; entering their territory unannounced might be seen as an act of aggression if you're not a comrade.
Residents: Serph and Heat
Once an abandoned warehouse in the Lower District, a lot of remodelling has turned the building into what can now be considered the local RED base. Which is, of course, painted in a dark red shade that just might remind one of drying blood. Needless to say that the color clearly doesn't make it fit in well with the rest of the city.
Living quarters are all located on the first floor, including kitchen, reading- and common room.
The ground floor is reserved for the 'important' matters. Meeting room, something that could be used as an office, a workshop and a dressing room with resupply cabinet right next to a large training area including a shooting range that extends over most of what may have been some sort of backyard at one point. A small patch of green is kept as well as a small area where actual plants are allowed to grow. In order to keep their neighborhood safe from stray bullets (which there may be many from once Heavy starts using his minigun), a strong, huge wall has been erected around the entire backyard just as well. Maybe it was also just build because some of the mercenaries tend to be a little paranoid at times.
The entire basement (also accessible over a ramp from the outside if actually necessary) is taken up by Medic's lab and the medical area. He also keeps his private rooms down here rather than occupying some of the rooms on the first floor.
A second underground level serves as storage area. All sorts of storage, really.
It looks similar to this. Only without the satellite and antenna and those wooden shacks in front. Also: Painted ENTIRELY in red, as mentioned before.
Residents: Italy
Located in the Lower Distact, is a house that is rather regulator in shape. A blockhouse. Think the Powerpuff Girl's house, expect, no garage. The house is grey. Two stories and a basement. The rectangular windows on the second floor are tinted black. Denzel can see you but you can't see him. There are also two circular and clear windows on the first floor looking into the kitchen. These windows you can see into.
Inside, there's a very modern style. From the staircase to the living room on the main floor. Even the kitchen has this look.
The second floor, has a modern bathroom and bedroom.
The spare room is an office.
The basement is a lab. Enough said.
All the walls in the house are covered over with dry boards and markers lying on the crease of the floor. Binomials and fairy doodles will be most common here. As well as;
Fairies R real. With 'R' flipped backwards.
Other house oddies;
In the bedroom there's a giant Newton's cradle.
There are no mirrors, ladders or salt in the house.
Residents: Denzel 'Crackpot' Crocker
Less of on the outskirts of the city and more firmly within the forest, nestled up against a tree is a small three room building that seems to be made of wooden framework, the tree, and tent-canvas, with only one floored room. Off to the side is another 'room' that seems to be a covering for a latrine, out of canvas. Most definitely not something truly permanent.
One of the rooms is really little more than a fire pit, hole in the 'roof' for smoke, and pots and pans hanging from lines about the walls, and enough room for Duke to move about. There are windows in the wooden walls – both inside and out – and a handful of gaps in the canvas layers – usually not quite the right size to be functional windows, and most definitely not holding any glass. One room is given over to books, a rough desk and chair, while the last holds a sleeping bag, completely opened, with a nest of blankets atop it. There are no decorative things in sight, everything is unornamented and practical, and some of the canvas and blankets appear to be well used.
It looks like something someone could pack up and move if they really wanted too.
Residents: Duke Pantarei
Among the smaller houses of the lower district, one of them has been claimed by a few people trying to find a place to stay together during their time in Vatheon; a rather plain-looking one story house that was looking a little shabby, but is currently being fixed up by the occupants. It includes 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a garage, a rather spacious kitchen for the size of the house, and a rather sizable living room as well. There is a front and back porch, and a garden being tended to by a couple of the residents. More will be added later as the household spends more time in the city of Vatheon, without a doubt.
Residents: Hubert Ozwell
The Winespring Inn, as the sign pronounces it, is a nice sized, three story building, located toward one edge of the main bubble, rather comfortably away from other populated buildings. The bottom floor is made of stone and is a common room the size to sit roughly 70 people – 100 if they crammed in – if the average height of the residents was 12 or so feet. This first floor holds a bar, plenty of tables, a raised dais for entertainment, a large kitchen, a smithy, a closet like room with nothing but oddly colored stone floor in the corner, and stairs down to a basement they hope to use as a cellar. There are a few private rooms, where people can eat without the noise of the common room, or play table top games. Each room has a set for Stones (like Go). They have spare tables tucked away in case outside seating is something wanted.
The second floor is whitewashed wood, and looks more or less like the first story of an average house. A living room with a couch, some arm chairs, fireplace and dining table, a small kitchen, a laundry room complete with washer that they never really use, and stairs to the second. This floor is also to scale of someone quite a bit larger than any of the three, even if very little of the furniture matches, as if they're expecting someone very tall to show up.
The third floor is bedrooms and bathrooms, in a loop about an open spot in the center where they hang things up to dry.
Residents: Lloyd Irving
It's been a long, long time since anyone's revisited the humble Villa, although there comes a time when going back to your roots is important and...well, a new set of eyes are looking at the abode. It might or might not be larger than anything the kids living in it are used to but it's definitely smaller than the average villa complex (I mean seriously what would the kids do with THAT much room?).
It stands at three floors tall, with enough rooms to accommodate all the kids, plus many extra rooms for the inevitable friend arriving or someone that they end up taking in. It's got the usual necessities -- a half bath downstairs, a full bath on the second floor, a kitchen, dining room, living room and laundry room -- and then a few extra, empty rooms which the kids have taken upon themselves to expand upon – to make it extra homey, of course. It has a small library with enough shelves to keep a certain bookworm satisfied, a quaint as heck yard outside, and a pond out front that's perfect for ducks. A few of the bedrooms started off empty, but the kids are working on making the villa a place they'll never want to leave. Or, in one's case, to make it look less like the villa where bad things happened and many things were lost.

A rabbit hole in the forest. The only sign that it's there is a mailbox with the words B. Bunny painted on. Once you get past the entrance tunnel, the burrow looks more like a 1940's style house. It's quite cozy considering it's underground.
The main entrance is in the center of the forest but there is a back door that leads to the plaza. The entrance is hidden under the roots of a tree and he can see the coral safely from there.
Residents: Bugs Bunny
A nicely sized modern style A-Frame house tucked away in a quiet part of the lower district. Though it appears small, there's been some work done by the previous owners to give it four bedrooms instead of two. Currently only two are occupied.
Out back, there is a small porch up against a narrow stretch of yard, fenced in, with a lovely and well tended flower garden on the right side.
Residents: Dhaos
This is probably the swankiest nest anybody's ever going to see. Wooden planks serve as a stable, permanent framework on the sturdy branches. The bottom has nice, soft cushioning, and the sides are covered in layers of blankets. There are also some piles of random small shiny things, like spoons, someone's glasses, maybe some bottled glitter, etc.
Also, there is no ladder. You'd either have to fly or climb up to it.
Residents: Davesprite
Tucked away in some odd corner of the Middle District there's a modern recreation of an old style Japanese home. While carrying amenities like indoor plumbing, and a fully loaded modern kitchen, the rest of the place closer resembles old style housing.
The bedrooms are large, but sparse, with tatami mat floors and fold away futons for bedding. The baths are heated by the same methods as the rest of the house, but still styled as traditional wooden soaking tubs. The yard surrounding it isn't very large, but has been built up in to a relaxing garden with trees and even a small creek running through. Of course it's all man made and not natural, but it's still calming and lovely to look at.
If you visit, all the current owner asks is that you remove your shoes and treat the place with respect.

Bar HOMRA is located on the busy plaza street that surrounds the city's fountain. It has a welcoming facade with signs and placards reading the specials for the day. Inside, the bar is well stocked, there is plenty of seating, and the atmosphere is always inviting and warm. Owner, Izumo Kusanagi is always there and often tends the bar, himself.
Connected to the bar, on the second floor is a one bedroom, one bath apartment. While Izumo technically owns this space along with the bar, he is allowing his best friend Suou Mikoto to take up residency in it.
Residents: Anna Kushina, Suoh Mikoto
Kanaya’s hive is located in the once abandoned village on the Island. Darkleer had rebuilt one of the homes into a modern hive for both Kanaya and Vriska. Now only Kanaya lives there.

Settled near the Nostalgia Nook, Yu came upon the unoccupied building during his nightly wanderings not long after the dome was safe to live in again. The bottom floor makes the building look like it had been once part of the Nostalgia Nook, while upstairs there are a number of small, one bedroom apartments. With a little bit of discussion amongst the other members of the Investigation Team, they agreed to make use of the space, turning it into their own detective agency and giving themselves a place to live as well.
