shirleyhopeful: (Wtf Fenimore?)

[personal profile] shirleyhopeful 2012-06-30 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
[ History ] :
Wiki and if you don't mind LJ...there's this cracky thing I wrote ages ago

[ Personality ] :
Shirley is a character who had to live up to the pressure of being the Merines and because of that, it left a huge impact on her.

Since she's the Merines, she has to be a figure of the one who would lead the Ferines to their salvation. Due to this, she was raised to be self scarficing and to put others before herself. It wouldn't be surprising to hear how it was her destiny to save her people and how she had little choice in the process. The problem was that Shirley wasn't a very vengeful person since being the Merines meant killing all of the Orerines. In addition, she was going to die. Still, since it was her destiny, what else could she do? Besides, she has no real attachment to both the Ferines and the Orerines. Most of her family was gone and she didn't have any friends so there was no real harm. While her only living family member was her sister, Stella, she figured that with the Orerines gone, she can have a better life and she no longer needed to take care of her. However, the changed when Senel arrived. Shirley realized that she was selfish. It was clear that she was in love with Senel but, since she had to be selfless, she let Stella have him because there wasn't much of a choice. Plus, her sister was a bit of a jerk but she still put up with it.

The point of the main quest for her was her to figure out certain issues because she had a lot to deal with. After her village was destroyed, she was now living with Senel for a couple of years and ,once again, being codependent. She needs someone to help her or else she wouldn't know what to do. Since their god rejected her, she has no power. What else could she do? It should be noted that even after Senel adopts Shirley, she said to Fenimore that she never had a friend before. It imples that she has some trust issues since it felt like her sister 'betrayed' her in some manner and that she was living with the Orerines. Of course, she would be nervous and scared. When she ended up in the Legacy, she found herself debating the major theme of her character development; should she be selfish or selfless?

With pressures of being the Merines, everyone was out to use her for their own profit. The first half of the main quest was pretty much her getting kidnap repeatedly. With each capture, she was slowly realizing that she was useless and it would come back to haunt her later. Despite the fact that the Orerines were torturing her people, she still had high hopes for them. She had high hopes for Senel and perhaps his friends too even though she was nervous talking to them. Near the end of the first half of the quest, Stella scarficed herself to save the Orienes. She did was Shirley was suppose to do. Once again, Shirley found herself helpless that she couldn't protect her sister and why she was just so useless.

Another issue that Shirley has is how low her self confidence is. Up to certain point, Shirley always believed that Nerifes rejected her simply because she couldn't live up to the title of the Merines. In addition, she choose to live with Senel so the Ferines would quickly call her a traitor. To top it off, she couldn't do a thing. What self worth does she have left?

During the second half of the main quest, Shirley's self confidence took another huge blow when she found out that Senel choose Stella. Despite that, Shirley was determined enough keep moving forward with a ceremony since she was still the Merines. Once again, there were some people who wanted to use her for their own good. With the death of Fenimore, Shirley found herself having the power of the Merines because she didn't want to be helpless anymore. She wanted to protect those who she cared about. However, she remembered the very reason why she failed to become a Merines. It was to protect Senel. It was too late by that point. With great power comes great responsbility. Now that she got what she wanted, she had to follow up with what she was meant to do; kill all the Orerines.

It should be noted that Shirley has an extremely strong will. As mentioned before, she is determined once she puts her mind to something (such as pushing herself forward). She was fighting with Nerifes and stalling for quite a while because she didn't want to kill. There was still time to protect Senel, the only person left that she cared about. Still, her trust and self confidence issues win out. With the reveal of how Stella knew who Senel really was, it felt like that Senel didn't even trust her in her mind. Was Stella that much better than her? Exactly what was wrong with her? Why was it always Stella Eventually, she does manage to figure out a balance in the end thanks to him.

Now that she figured out a way to bring peace between the Orerines and the Ferines, now what? While she is still the Merines, her titles no longer has a bigger impact than it did before. Now that Shirley has more time to spent with Senel, her character development grows even further. It's her learning how to find herself and figuring out how to revolve those issues of hers.

For the most part, Shirley is kind of shy and awkward around the rest of the party. She knew that her friends wouldn't really like her after what she did (aka almost destroying the world) but she still accepted them with open arms. She just wasn't sure how to approach them. At the beginning of the character quest, when Moses tries to say something to Shirley, she was pretty quiet. However, it becomes apparent that once she gets to know people, she opens up pretty easily to the point of having no filter. When Chloe was about to leave the Legacy, she slapped her across the face to prove to that she doesn't want her to leave because she cares. Another example would be when Jay was facing against Solon, she even flat out told him that the otters had more courage than him. I'm guessing it's her way of saying, "Jay, you need to be a man and face your fears!" In addition, she finally talks to Chloe about her feelings for Senel. With that, she is slowly starting to trust others again.

As mentioned before, Shirley is extremely codependent but she's learning bit by bit. She no longer lives with Senel and ,while she's still living with someone else, she's learning how to take care of herself more. However, she's starting to become really close to Chloe, so it's questionable. On that note, she gets jealous to those who are close to Senel and maybe to anyone who is close to her. When Norma wanted to spend the night with him, Shirley was willing to cast a spell on her. When she saw Grune sleeping on the same bed as him, she was in complete shock. As stated, she's starting to grow less dependent on him and maybe her jealously died down. She knows that Chloe likes him and is willing to give her a chance instead of forcing all her anger on her.

Once again, she is extremely stubborn as well. It's probably though her stubbornness alone that made her try so hard to bridge the gap between the Ferines and the Orerines. Even though Senel still likes Stella, she was stubborn enough to believe that he would fall for her one day. When Grune was missing, she wanted to ask Nerfies to help knowing full well that she could turn into the Merines again. Even though Senel thought it would be dangerous, she still insisted on it.

Plus, Shirley has gotten a habit of teasing other people. She even gave Norma a nickname as a sign of their friendship and when they asked what Jay wrote on his leaf for the Star Festival, she simply replied, "Oh, let's see. To tell or not, what shall I ever do?"

For the most part, most of her character development happened in the main quest. Her role in the character quest is to help and perhaps advise her friends. After the fight with her 'darker' self, she has come to terms with her all doubts and fears. She knows that she still has a lot of grow but has accepted herself.

Overall, Shirley knows that she has a lot of flaws. There are still some self confidence issues that will never go away and knows that she's extremely codependent. She use to have to deal with a lot of issues by herself because she wasn't sure who to trust. Now, she knows that she isn't alone anymore and that she can definitely go forward if she wants to.
shirleyhopeful: (Next time I won't burnt the pie)

[personal profile] shirleyhopeful 2012-06-30 05:02 am (UTC)(link)

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
-Codependent; but she's working on it
-Self confidence issues
-Some trust issues too
+Loyality
+Detemined
+Willing to be honest with herself
+/- Desire to protect; she is willing to kill herself for the sake of protecting others
[ Other Important Facts ] :
Shirley is a Ferines, so it means that she is able to read the language of her people very easily. Although since she's living with her friends, finding things with her language is pretty rare. When something does show up with the Ferines language, then she'll read it.

Shirley is a crystal eren, so it means that she is mostly a spell caster. She can heal, protect, help, and is able to do heavy damage with her spells with her quil. Yes, she uses a quil. It should be noted that most, if not all, her spells are usually pink.

Here are a list of her artes

[ Sample ] :
It was rather odd that Shirley found herself in some strange underwater city. She was certain that right before waking up, she was screaming “CHARGE!” at the top of her lungs before she passed out. Just what was going on? At first, she thought that Norma or Moses might be pulling a prank on her but she doubts that they could pull off something this...elaborate. Was this another kidnapping? Perhaps, she thought to herself, but there weren't any guards around nor were there any dungeons? Might this be a trap for the others to follow through? It could be but why an underwater place?

As Shirley thought some more, she knew that she couldn't stay in place for long. She felt a sneeze coming and she couldn't sit around for the others to rescue her. If she could rescue herself, then the others won't have to get hurt. As she continued to look around, another thought came up. Was this another Ferines village? That was certainly a possiblity but it was certainly something she never seen before. Besides, something...felt off. If this were a village, then why would there be builings similar to the ones she saw at Wertis Beacon. There were so many questions to ask and she wasn't sure where to start. However, now that she finally figured out a couple of things, maybe she can get out of this place and find Senel before he gets himself in trouble.

[ Player Name ] : Mirr
[ Personal DW ] : themirr
[ Age ] : 26
[ Timezone ] : CST
[ Other Characters ] : none

[ Character's Name ] : Ghirahim
[ Character's Age ] : hundreds and hundreds of years old REALLY OLD. A millennium at least. Appears to be...mid-twenties, maybe?
[ Series ] : Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
[ Canon Point ] : post-game

[ History ] : Zeldapedia entry

[ Personality ] : Upon first impression, if one didn't know any better, Ghirahim is gentlemanly and polite, adhering to the rules of etiquette expected of someone of noble station. But under the surface of his "honorable" initial persona is a volatile mix of an extremely short temper and a sadistic streak a mile wide. Ghirahim delights in bloodshed and violence--not surprising given his true nature as a demonic weapon. He takes out his anger at his failure to capture Zelda on Link constantly. He has no concept of personal space--or if he does, he just doesn't care, as he invades Link's constantly and without hesitation. He also taunts Link on his sword skills, calling him a novice for advertising how he's going to attack (and then displays just how pathetic Link is by blocking the boy's strikes with one hand and stealing Link's sword from him) and even backhands him for being a coward when Link showed too much hesitation.

Ghirahim is also extremely vain. He's flashy in his manner of dress and gestures, and tends to put far too much confidence in his own abilities, while severely underestimating his opponents. He even prefers to be acknowledged by his full title, even though he claims to not be picky. Ghirahim is picky about everything. His entire appearance is carefully calculated and presented to serve his own ends. It's unclear why Ghirahim's initial form is one of flesh when he has so much contempt for those who have it--he even calls his second form (where his arms are solid metal like they are in his true form) flawless and beautiful. It may be that this is for the same reason as his gentility facade--a mockery of human culture and social interaction.

Strangely, Ghirahim is brutally honest. He doesn't lie to Link about his plans or even hide the fact that he's trying to resurrect his master, Demise. He also freely admits his shortcomings--his short temper, as well as the fact that he feels no mercy towards his enemies (or allies, for that matter). His temper goes from zero to overboiling within minutes, as evidenced from meeting Link for the first time. He derives extreme pleasure from their fights, at one point even stopping to lick Link's blood from his sword. He even gives in gruesome detail the method he's invented to murder Link right before their last fight (which is exactly the method Link uses to win against Ghirahim. Oops.)

But in the end, Ghirahim is nothing like the carefully cultivated outer mask he displays throughout most of the game, and it becomes more and more obvious the more that Link interferes with his plans. He threatens Link with violence and death, and does everything he can to carry out those threats. He cares nothing for others, even gleefully sacrificing Zelda's soul to feed Demise. The suffering of other people is something Ghirahim delights in, and he will lord it over them and taunt them without mercy. Even Demise returning Ghirahim to his sword state didn't faze him--in fact, he seemed to be actually happy about it.

Overall Ghirahim is an unpredictable, malevolent, sadistic monster, incredibly vain and egotistic. He plays the part of a perfect gentleman, if quite flamboyant and with no concept of personal space. His anger is easily roused, and his method of venting includes extreme physical violence against the nearest individual, innocent or not. The only sense of loyalty he displays is to his master, Demise. Friendships and other bonds mean nothing to him...in fact, aside from resurrecting Demise and being reunited with his master, nothing else matters to Ghirahim.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] : excels at invading personal space All of Ghirahim's magic carries a diamond and/or weapon theme. The geometric shapes are evident while teleporting, shapeshifting into his true form (which can be controlled so that only parts of him are fully metallic, such as his arms), and summoning weapons and minions-- the bokoblins and moblins. Even his barriers have a geometric diamond pattern to them. His magic can bring inanimate objects to life or turn them into monsters, summon powerful tornadoes, and form balls of electricity in his hands to fend off attacks. Most of this magic and the summoning of weapons described below only requires a snap of his fingers to perform.

He can wield either one or two rapiers and summon smaller thrower knives to serve as projectiles--it's strongly hinted that as a sword himself, these weapons are an extension of his own body. He possesses strength and agility beyond a normal human being, which he uses with pseudo-gentlemanly restraint against any who oppose him. His true form, a purely metallic being, is even stronger. The trade-off is that this form is heavier and therefore slower, but having skin hard enough to withstand blows from the Master Sword more than makes up for it. The only weak point is the crystal embedded in his chest--although it's his own arrogance and vanity that's his biggest weakness of all.

His other true form is that of the Dark Master Sword--a parody of the goddess Hylia's sacred weapon. Ghirahim is a weapon of tremendous evil power, and will only take this form for someone he deems worthy. (which is only if you're Demise, really...)

[ Other Important Facts ] : Ghirahim is a troll. Also there's a reason why some refer to him as Ghiraham. Because he really does love hamming it up. :U

Um, excuse me, would anyone here mind a spar with me? I don't want to hurt anyone but ...I think it's been a while since I last fought someone. I'm a Crystal Eren so that means I'm not a physical fighter...

[After a couple of seconds, Shirley thought about it some more]

Actually, I want to ask, would anyone mind teaching me how to fight using a sword or your fists? I think I might need some help training a bit.

And I hope that these are good

By the time he arrives in Vatheon, Ganondorf will have lost much of his drive, what with everything he’s worked for having been snatched away from him at the last second, getting stabbed in the face, and turning to stone. He’s a brilliant fellow, fantastic at planning and strategy, and rather good at adjusting his plans on the fly to get what he wants in the end (save for in the face of certain spanners in the works). He is not as given to bouts of fury as he was when he was younger, though his temper is far from gone. When he does get angry enough, he tends to limit that anger to the one who incited his fury in the first place as he’s found taking it out on others really doesn’t help. Interestingly, he does have a code of honor that he’s adhered to throughout the ages, short as it is: females are not to be killed, and unarmed combatants are to be given a chance to rearm themselves. At this first moment though? He’s mostly a tired, lonely old man who has lost his taste for death.

For the most part he finds his minions hopelessly dumb and cares little for their safety. What should he care for monsters that fail miserably to keep an unarmed child from sneaking into his fortress? For most of them he expects so little of them anymore that he hardly becomes more than annoyed at their failures. For minions he does expect more of, especially those he created himself, he gets quite irate when they fail, though yelling would do little good in those cases as death is generally the condition for failure. Otherwise, he pays little attention to what they might do when not fulfilling whatever task he has assigned them.

...Also, I noticed that I neglected to put in that while he can turn into his alternate beast form, that power will be stripped from him in Vatheon.

Thank you for your consideration!
