Information Database
◣ Information Database ◢
Welcome to the database! This is a collection and notation of the information gathered by the foreigners about their situation in Vatheon, information that has been pried from the mouths, computers, and papers of the natives and the scientists of the bubble.
ICly, this database is put together and maintained by the following characters (players);
Tech (Aspen)
Denzel Crocker (BlueSpikey)
Dirk Strider (Silk)
The information is kept on the network, and all characters (not just maintainers) can submit to it and access it using their SFCs. If information has been released publicly, or the conversations are not filtered, then anyone who has read them is free to submit. However, closed conversations or information known only to a few characters can only be submitted by the characters that know about it, of course.
Submission form:
Please note! This is player run, so if there are any questions, please contact one of the maintainers listed above!

Method of Discovery: Hacking
Summary: While hacking the Island's recently discovered Lab, Bakura found information of what appears to be a study on fish parasites and diseases. There is mention of gills and skin rotting.
Link: Right here.
Date Discovered: 9-05 (2012)
Method of Discovery: Hacking
Summary: More hacked information. Bakura found Solitaire Scores from some of Vatheon's famous.
Link: Right here.

Method of Discovery: Observations after repeatedly killing locals
Summary:
Like foreigners, when killed, locals reappear after approximately 5 days. Unlike foreigners, locals appear to have no recollection of their deaths.
Link: Link to the FAQ, as most of these killings have been behind the scenes.

Method of Discovery: Torn papers found on the island.
Summary: These papers were the first to tell that the foreigners are being brought and kept here by the scientists. They also reveal that the scientists seem to have set up Vatheon itself (or at least part of it) and that the curses are part of experiments. Also contains charts and info on the curses, Vatheon's atmosphere, the coral/Lamufao, and some miscellaneous subjects besides.
Link: Original post, but it's on LJ and the layout doesn't show the pictures in full. As such, here's a mirror on DW and a text transcription. (ICly, photos and the text transcript would be available for the database.)
Date Discovered: January 18, 2012.
Method of Discovery: Talking with an NPC.
Summary: Karkat speaks with Carol, the first scientist to show herself to the network. Clarifies that the curses aren't experiments themselves, some info on the fairies that used to follow foreigners around, and has some cryptic hints to the nature of Vatheon.

Method of Discovery: Hacking
Summary: Bulma discovers talks of the "cult" and culture behind Vatheon as well as mentions of a person or thing referred to as Cthulu, also followed by a cult that may or may not have influence on Vatheon.
In addition, she tried and failed to crack open a text document that seemed to hint at in its file name that natives were being sedated via chemicals.
Rita later discovers a PDF of the employee handbook, which Bulma then compiles into downloadable text. This employee handbook talks about the nature of Vatheon a tad as well as the effects the markings have.
Link: Bulma has compiled all information found by herself and Rita into a text document which she keeps on hand to share with anyone that asks for it. ICly she has been sharing the information she found as it's been discovered and Rita shared her findings of the employee handbook

Method of Discovery: Hacking
Summary: A set of hacked information with different things, such as some corrupted files on the locals. Most of it is corrupted to some degree.
Link: ICly, Darkleer has only shared the information with Tifa and Roxy, along with a smidgen to others who've asked. However, he has compiled it on his own SFC along on paper for his own records.
So maintainers will find a set of files sent to all three of them (just to be safe) with the intention of being put in the public database.

Method of Discovery: Observation and Recording
Summary: A formatted record of Island temperatures and general weather conditions, including a graph. Kanaya has been keeping track of this for gardening purposes, but she's uploading it now as it may be useful to others. All info comes from the weather in the Mod Updates. IC she only tracked the weather, but I included the Coral power levels and some other notes for OOC completeness.
If another character wants to publish data regarding the Coral power fluctuation, I have that here as well, with it's own timeline graph.EDIT (3/11): Princess Zelda (OOT) has been keeping close track of the coral's power levels since it first started fluctuating. She's worked with Kanaya in character to make a graph of it, so now the power graph is a part of the database in character!

This is all on google docs. If you'd like access to edit it, let me know and I'll set that up. I'm going to keep updating each week with the new mod updates, but if anybody has any ideas to contribute I'm all ears.

Method of Discovery: Talks given by the Station Master and C (the cleric)
Summary: The bubble weakened and was able to break because the coral wasn't able to efficiently absorb energy from the foreigners.
That absorption of energy happened through the tattoos, which are based off of a special kind of fish found around Vatheon. Modifying the tattoos allowed the coral to more efficiently absorb energy again.
SFCs are used to monitor us.
The Natives have lost their memories- it's why they're so docile. Their memories are suppressed by marks that they have, ones different from us foreigners.
There are mechanical components to help the coral absorb and process our energy and therefore create the Barrier.
The head Nurse is named Athena. (whoa.)
