Below is a place to thread out quick little conversations with the NPCs that aren't worth an entire log. Vatheon's staple NPCs will have postings here, and all the other new quest NPCs will simply be listed under the "Quest NPCs" comment header. Please put in the subject line which quest you're talking with an NPC about!

[ Duke and the spirit sort of... peer at each other for a long moment.

Duke isn't sure if the spirit needs to be close to its other parts, but it chimes at him and he quietly explains what he can't walk through and-

... Yeah. They make it through with maybe a little singeing. ]

[Who's the manager's favorite little troll? Feferi is! Since she seems to like fish and water based things so much, the next time she goes up to the room she's been staying in, she'll find a water bed right alongside the regular bed (just in case she doesn't like it). If she sleeps in the water bed, she'll regenerate mp faster for the next day.]

[Feels like hell hunting down those wolves and taking these teeth. But no commune, no easy out, and can't have these guys downing citizens, right? So he sadly makes his way to the concerned citizen and gets their attention.]

Hey uh, you looking for some fangs? Three canine sets, right? Feel bad takin' these.

The Walls Between Us

Huh, you uh, ever ask them if they want to divide up the week? [Scratches head.] If they want more space for certain activities, they could call days to have more room to one of them, and, the other can just, uh, ya know, take time off to do something away from home.

[Minako steps into the room, determined and ready to go.]

All right you, if you want to listen to the greatest story ever then you need to settle down and listen, okay?

[Equius remembers being this class before, and how frustrating it was not being able to defend himself. He wants to level up, and quickly, so he can get that Holy spell again. As such, he takes the time to seek out the woman in white robes, and he'll remember all the manners and good conduct first Aurthor and then Darkleer taught him.]

Excuse me, my lady, but may I ask you a question?

I could try, I suppose.

[He might be in a white mage's outfit, but his muscles and basic build are still the same. Equius takes a deep breath.]

You there! BOYS! Listen!

[Silly nurse, STRENGTH doesn't do anything against slimes anyway. They just bounce back and leer at you grossly. Actually, slimes might be Equius' spirit animal...]

I have no MP left. None. I used all of it beating down slimes.

[Thank goodness he ran across a dark slime that was hurt by healing spells, or he would have been screwed.]

The chocolate was really good! this inn is the best ever and i will tell all of my friends and get them to stay here becosause it is very nice

He died back where we're from. The coral brought him here and we found each other but then it sent him away again...

[Sola sighs heavily, looking forlorn.]

I don't know why it sent him away but I'd do anything to bring him back. I love my brother.

[He looks at the boy with a small smile.]

Just like I'm sure you love yours too, even if you're mad at him. C'mon, why don't you go get him so we can all have cake together, okay?

[He's not great at sitting still, but this morning he seems kind of sluggish. One of the weeds happens to be a mandrake root and the fact that he had to fight it shows. He's definitely going to need a bit of healing.]

Here's your roots... There's some nasty stuff in there.

[Another day and Sola finds himself wandering past the bakery. Another mess? Well that sucks! Better help out again.

Pretty soon the front of the bakery is spotless once more.]

[Not exactly what he had in mind, but still interesting to watch. He seems pleased with the publicity, at any rate. Thanks for the advertising, Roxas!]

[The owner seems happy that Undertaker is so enthusiastic! It's really nice to see someone properly enjoying this quest. He might have a little something for him when he goes to report his results.]

I'd really appreciate it, thanks! I'll go get to baking right away.

[And with that, the Baker leaves Duke with the entire mess and immediately starts doing his thing in the kitchen. It looks like he didn't even TRY cleaning the mess up himself.]

[The baker's trying to get on with his job anyway, so he doesn't notice Roxas cleaning initially. It's not until he steps out for a moment that he takes notice.]

Hey, thanks kid!

[Aww, thanks Sola! The manager's noticed what room Sola chooses by now, so he swaps out the pillows for special ones the next time he comes in. These will help with his stamina regeneration for the day!]

[She'd find a note in return after that:

We usually don't want people to stay here longer than a week, since it's better for everyone if you all get settled in the city like it's home. But maybe I can talk to those welcoming people to get new people to visit!

[It's a good idea, he thinks. This time, he leaves her little wrist guards. They're not anything too stunning, but they will allow her to block physical strikes with her wrists if she's quick.]

But they're biting people! I think they're feral. Have you heard all that howling at night?

[He shudders, then takes the fangs. After selecting the best looking one, he ties it on a leather thong and holds it out to the Summoner-turned-bard.]

Here. Maybe if you wear one of these the other wolves will know to not attack people.

Do you want me to make you an hp potion out of these? You kept running off too fast for me to ask before.

[She huffs a bit, accepting the roots.]

[Poor girl. Still, fixing it for her might just disorient her, so she won't offer for now.]

That's me. Why don't you tell me a little about your party?

What about your party?

[She sounds a little wry at that. What are the chances Hubert's party hasn't made mistakes? Abysmally low, that's what. Especially if he knows any warriors. Damn warriors don't know the meaning of a mana break...]
