Below is a place to thread out quick little conversations with the NPCs that aren't worth an entire log. Vatheon's staple NPCs will have postings here, and all the other new quest NPCs will simply be listed under the "Quest NPCs" comment header. Please put in the subject line which quest you're talking with an NPC about!

I think these might go over real well with the critters. Why don't you take some?

[Well... Sollux will get his points, but he's not getting smiley faces or potions like Feferi. Be a little more complimentary!]

[The librarian turns from adjusting the boards on the windows, putting her hands on her hips. Is that a... is he excited to see her?

I do. Those harpies on the roof just won't be quiet. I don't care how you get rid of them, just do it!

I don't know - the latest shiny thing they stole? I don't care, I just want them off my roof!

[Sola would be able to hear their screeching now.]

[Wait, that sounds bad.]

[The chef hits the kitchen without even so much as a thank you. His muse has taken him, Sola. Please don't be offended.]

Oh. [He frowns and quiets his voice a little] Don't look at me like that, either. I didn't pick this foolish outfit. But I'll get rid a the harpies.

[She looks over at him, arms crossed. Look out Johnny, this lady has a chip on her shoulder.]

Yeah, sure. You feeling honored yet?

[She nods gravely.]

I have nothing left to teach you.

[The woman switches and slams him from the other direction, but she takes the hit from him as well. She's... definitely bleeding, but it seems like she doesn't feel it. He shouldn't feel the hit from her much, either.

Heh. Good job.

[She's getting blood on the floor.]

[The buff woman poses, flexing muscles that Sola is no doubt extremely jealous of.]

You've got the right woman. Do you think you have what it takes?

[Wow. This guy definitely needs her help. He's already handicapped!]

[She flexes at him impressively.]

[Oh no, she's so cute! How can he try to teach her like he does everyone else?! Well, she's an adventurer even if she's a kid, so she's going to be fighting anyway...]

That's right. Are you a mage, little one?

[Nope. He doesn't feel it. He will later, probably. But for now he's going to bask in the excitement of his little victory and actually jump and yelp happily.]

Okay now he notices the blood.]

[They both seem to think he's bluffing. Lego-thief-boy just crosses his arms. The sister covers her mouth. Can he take the wall down? He looks like a cleric! But she would like it gone...]

Well, not control it exactly, just bend it a little. So if...

[And suddenly there's a minotaur in the library! It looms over the pair, and if she doesn't manage something fast, they're both going to end up crushed by it.

Were the hints he gave her enough? Could she bend time and cast a spell instantly to give them some space? Hopefully!]

[The sister wrings her hands nervously.]

Well, I don't know exactly. I heard an "oww!" and a "you took my legos again!" and then "well it was on my side of the room!" and then they just started arguing over where the line should go and before I knew it they built a big wall!

[There's a chorus of "no no no no" from the boys, but their sister? She looks pretty satisfied.]

You should just take the whole thing down!

[Well, her first instinct is to throw fire at it, so maybe? Even though she shouldn't have enough time to cast the spell before being crushed, she's still trying to. They were just talking about messing with the flow of time, so she's trying to focus and go faster than the minotaur, hoping that it might work.]

[Of course, fighting over toys. She has to fight the urge to roll her eyes at that.]

I think I know what to say to them. Can you get them both out here?

[The woman leads Sola right to the boy's room. Just make him be still for an hour or two. That's all she wants.]

[One boy emerges. The other boy doesn't have any access to the door, only a window that faces the other side of the house. He can't smell the cake.]

Are you making cake?

[Sola's going to be finding glitter in his warrior outfit for the rest of the curse, isn't he? The citizen approaches him, looking pretty satisfied.]

Hey, thanks. I thought I'd start seeing sparkles in my nightmares! You, uhh...

[Does he have anything else? Wait! This large plastic heart!]
