The NPCs
◣ The NPCs ◢
The NPCs of Vatheon, once only accessible by their own volition of appearance, are now round-the-clock contactable by the Vatheonites— via a newly implemented voice mail system! Feel free to contact any of the NPCs down below via their corresponding thread, and specify between VIDEO/VOICE/TEXT should you choose to do so. This page also contains each NPC's profile, which elaborates on some of the known details and information pertaining to each NPC.
THALASSINO
STATUS unknown
INFO The renowned head priestess of Vatheon. She seemed to know a lot, but never revealed more than what she believed was necessary. She was prominently known for her public appearances involving omens or warnings to the residents of Vatheon. She was killed while the coral was being repaired in Year 3.

STATION MASTER
STATUS active
INFO The station master in charge of the elevator to the upper island. He's a man of few (if any) words, but he's always smiling. It also seems that he enjoys making hot chocolate and baking cookies.
|
ALPHA
STATUS missing
INFO A rather rude scientist who had accumulated the most interaction with the citizens of Vatheon. Although he possessed a sharp tongue and pessimistic attitude, it became evident over time that he had warmed up to the Vatheonites. He was last seen after overseeing the construction and subsequent completion of the elevator to the island— and since then has been rather quiet.
|
CAROL
STATUS active
INFO A moody grad student who seems to be searching for something. According to Thalassino, Carol freed the priestess from the secret facility on the island prior to its partial destruction. No further information.
|
HEAD NURSE
STATUS active
INFO A very friendly nurse who took over all medical and pharmaceutical affairs after Alpha's "retirement". She was the mastermind behind the murder and decapitation of a nurse in April which turned out to be an April Fool's "prank". No further information.
|
The Cleric
STATUS active
INFO Anyone wishing to talk to C will have to do so in person. Luckily she can often be found near the storage building on the island. If you just wait around there for a little while, she is sure to appear.

[He stays in the same place, hands folded behind his back.]

[As she tucks the pouch away she rubs at her hand. Athena changing the marks of the locals as well had changed hers, and while she'd changed it back as soon as she deemed it safe some damage was still done. She moves to sit down, motioning for him to sit with her.]
Come sit down. Unless this is a formal interrogation? Should I call you "colonel"?
no subject
[He sits where she's motioned and retains that he's ready to jump up if needbe.]
I have, however, not met with much success in my attempts.

I can only stay in this building for an half hour at best before it would look too suspicious, but I'll answer what I can in the meantime. Go ahead.

Of course they're your own bodies. What else would they be?
[She'll just try to not roll her eyes. It's understandable why these people are so paranoid now, but really.]
As for the coral... I refused to stay on the project after talk began of bringing people from other worlds in to bypass our own human experimentation laws here, but I did see it revive some of these fish when it was still in its natural habitat. I think it does have that power.
no subject
What exactly is the point of the experiments?
no subject
Energy production. Beings connected to the coral produce energy with their emotions, and the curses and the like bring those out. We couldn't do it on our own people, of course. While there are some of us connected to the coral, it's a different connection than you have - it subdues us, makes us content and unlikely to take action. It's like a form of jail, an dsince we are all criminals of one kind or another, the government is aware of that much. As for you - experimenting on sentient beings is against the law here, but seeing that you are from other worlds and forget as soon as you're returned... it's a bit of a loophole.

[Jade likes longer answers, k. And he's still thinking about that message that he'd been sent on the network.]
Is there an algorithm or set reasoning to who is pulled an from where?
no subject
[She tries to think on his second question.]
I don't know. I opposed the work on sentient beings and I was going to leave the project. Then I...
[Her eyes look blank.]
I don't remember. I became one of the locals here.

[He'd have to keep the word Sors in mind and look up anything in the library later if he couldn't get the response from her.
That blank expression doesn't look very promising to Jade and his frown deepens.]
You say that as though you weren't a local before then. Or are those like you and the Head Nurse separate?
no subject
Some of your people killed her. I haven't tried looking too hard since I would rather they don't get in trouble for it. I think Athena knows who did it, but if she knows that you all know I'd be worried about what sort of punishment she might enact. She's a prideful bitch.
[Give her a moment to calm her hate boner.]
Like I said - all the locals here are criminals, myself included. We're all native to this world, but we sure as hell didn't start out living under the sea. This is our prison, same as you.
