» Please make sure that you read the rules, and check the reserves before applying. People who do not read the rules will be rejected immediately.

» You are allowed to apply for two characters per application cycle. You may also reserve two characters. We will try to review each application as soon as possible. If longer than a week has passed and you have not heard back anything about your application, please drop us a message.

» Don't lie in your application. Don't copy / paste things from wiki. Keep what you post in your application strictly you. Sure, it's hard to add your own flair to writing history or a personality, but try to keep from summarizing too much. Show us your shine! Plagiarizing another player's application is ground for an immediate rejection.

» If someone has a reserve for a character, and you want to apply for them, you have the choice of either A) challenging the application with one of your own or B) waiting until the reserve expires and then applying/reserving as the character. If you challenge the original reserver, your application will not be reviewed until the original reserver has submitted theirs.

» Currently, the character limit is five characters. Any more is up to the mods, and must be discussed ahead of time with them. You may only apply for two characters from the same canon.

» Keep spamming to a minimum on the applications. Wait until that person is accepted into the game before holding out a conversation on a thread. Comment spamming here makes things cluttered, and a mod may accidentally miss something important. ( But feel free to comment-spam the Reserve page, if you'd like. )

» Please don't skip over any section of the application below.

» Please finish your application before posting. We reserve the right to decline any applications that are still unfinished when we process them.

» When reviewing applications, we take opinions of our members into consideration. If you would like to make a comment about an app that is being decided upon, do not hesitate. Here is where you can leave a comment with what you thought of another app. All comments will be screened for privacy, and the option to be anon will be left on. Do note, player opinions do not decide if an application is accepted or not, but will be taken into consideration.

( Character's Age ) : There is no set age limit for the characters, and in fact, this is very flexible. So long as your character is mature enough to take care of him or herself and is mature enough for the game, they can be apped! As a basic guideline, think the maturity of someone around the age of 13 or so.

( Canon Point ) : What part of the story of the series is your character coming in after? Did he or she just die? Did something traumatic just happen? Is it near the end, the beginning, or the middle? Tell us!
( Playability ) : If you are apping your second person for a particular canon, please give us a quick reasoning on why the characters would not be extensively interacting/how you are planning to avoid any playercest issues. If you are not apping from a canon you already play in, please disregard this section.

( History ) : You may provide us with a link to a wiki-page, or something else that will sufficiently give the Community and the mods background on your canon. If you wish to write out the history yourself, you still may do such.

( Personality ) : Probably the most important part of the application! Tell us what your character is like. We're looking for a well-developed analysis of the character. Perhaps between three to five paragraphs, roughly. Feel free to do more or less, however, if you think that better suits you. Most applications will be closer to the three than the five, and that's completely okay!

Just make sure to hit on crucial aspects of that character. What does he or she like? What does he or she hate? What are his or her motives? What parts of your character's past influenced how they are? Does your character act differently in front of different groups of people? Think of these questions as you write. Feel free to go off the page and focus on other questions. The above questions were just to get you thinking.

( Strengths/Weaknesses ) : So tell us! What can your character do well? What is your character weak against? Any cool spells? Good at picking locks? Anything you can think of, put it here.

( Other Important Facts ) : Have something else important to mention about your character that doesn't really fit in anywhere else? Be sure to include it here!

( Sample ) : This can be in first person or third person. There's no limit to your sample post. Just be sure to include your character's voice. Don't just write your character walking around! Be sure to include thoughts, quirks, and anything else that shows us you know your character. How would he or she react to the mark? How would he or she react to waking up some place new? Is he or she still brooding over something? The sample does not have to be set in Vatheon. You may also link to other roleplay threads; just be sure to give us something that shows how you plan to play them and clearly shows their voice! Or feel free to do a few of the above. Whatever you think will best show your characterization.

Anya's perspective on the world is a straightforward, self-centered, and often single-minded one. One of the most obvious things about her is that she seems to have no brain-to-mouth filter, and will say precisely what is on her mind. She is direct, tactless, and brutally honest whether the situation calls for it or not, traits which others find exasperating. There are no topics off-limits to frank discussion, meaning she will talk about evisceration and sexual escapades as matter-of-factly as another person might talk about grocery shopping. Anya herself can be frustrated by people's inability to say what they're thinking because of things like feelings or inhibitions. It's both irrational and confusing. When asked why she doesn't try to behave more like a normal person and follow human etiquette, she remarks simply, "The rules are stupid." Anya will lie, but typically only out of self-preservation or denial, and she has trouble keeping secrets when the reason seems frivolous.

Having spent over a thousand years as a demon and fewer than three decades total as a human, Anya still identifies herself as "ex-demon" more than "human." Part of her longs for the simpler days of granting wishes that disemboweled men, but her rediscovery of human emotions has made the work too difficult for her. It should be noted that Anya has no problems with vengeance on a moral basis; she often sees nothing wrong with the actions of other demons so long as they aren't harming anyone she cares about, and she feels no remorse over her actions when she was first a vengeance demon. It's just that the ability to empathize with her victims means inflicting pain causes her emotional distress.

Since she can't be a demon, it's very grudgingly that she's decided to try being one of those stupid humans who tries to do the right thing. She views humans as fundamentally idiotic and flawed, and yet admires their bravery in times of crisis. When she first lost her powers, self-preservation was her first priority. Now, she will risk her life to fight for things she cares about. Her original personality as the human Aud was very selfless, and that side of her does emerge in dire situations. For instance, she was willing to give her life to save Xander's, and also to undo a particularly fatal wish which she regretted granting. In the end she did die defending someone else, though it's questionable whether she would have done so had she known it would kill her.

Outside apocalypses, she does usually think of herself first. Her own safety and needs (often the sexual kind) are at the forefront of her mind. She does things for people if it's convenient, if it serves her in the end, or if she expects to be repaid for it. She's come to be a strong believer in capitalism, and highly values material wealth. She considers theft a serious offense, almost on par with attempts on her life. Obviously with the whole vengeance deal, she has both a temper and a strong jealous streak, and her first instinct is to demand (or inflict) retribution, rather than seek an apology. It's rare for her to apologize herself.

Although her attitudes alienate her from others, Anya has always had trouble being independent. When first human, she was in love with a man named Olaf. After he cheated on her and she took revenge on him, she was promoted to vengeance demon, whereupon she poured herself into her work. After losing her powers, she quickly became attached to Xander, and intended to build her life around him. She tends to latch onto things more than make a serious attempt at connecting with people. Now that her life no longer revolves around vengeance or the love of a man, she's lost her sense of direction. If she hadn't died, it might have presented her with the first real opportunity to find herself. She had certainly reached a point where she no longer wanted to depend on others or define herself by them.

( Strengths/Weaknesses ) :
+ Anya has an extensive knowledge of demonology, having been one for over a thousand years and interacted with many others during her career.
+ While not exceptionally powerful on her own, Anya does have some experience in spell-casting. She originally came to D'Hoffryn's attention for turning her lover into a troll, and she was able to create a barrier powerful enough to block Willow's spells. She can perform higher level spells when part of a circle.
+ Anya demonstrates knowledge of several human languages, both modern and archaic, and as her work as a vengeance demon took her around the world, presumably she knows quite a few more.
+ She is proficient with a sword.

- Bunnies. Anya has a deep-seated phobia of rabbits, present even while suffering from memory loss. Even inanimate representations of rabbits or the mention of rabbits can startle or upset her.
- Poor people skills. Even before becoming a demon, Anya had difficulty relating to people. Her lack of tact tends to alienate people and most of the Scoobies besides Xander simply tolerated her.

( Other Important Facts ) :
Because all the back-and-forth gets confusing, she is completely human at this canon point.

( Sample ) :
[One moment she was being sliced open from behind and watching her substantially long life (although not really that long in the scheme of things; she was far from old) flash before her eyes, and the next, she was on a beach. It made her think she should have asked Buffy a few more questions about what dying was like. Dying and going to the afterlife, that was, because she'd seen plenty of bodies bleed out or drown or sometimes explode. Everyone had seemed to think it was a very insensitive topic, but it might have provided her with invaluable information which she was sorely lacking this very moment.

If she was going to go anywhere after her death, she had assumed it would be more of a hell dimension, where her former colleagues would either be waiting or eventually join her. Failing that, at least more of a flowy, ethereal experience with fields of fluffy white clouds like they had in the movies.

She got to her feet and brushed sand off her pants.]

Okay. So I wasn't expecting to end up in an island paradise dimension. Maybe those idiots are actually onto something with all that talk about doing good deeds.

Most history will have to be derived and adapted from her history but it will mostly be the same, if not very similar.

( Personality ) :
If one were to describe what the ruler of the Candy Kingdom is like, Prince Gumball would embody everything that would fit in that description. This prim and proper royal wraps up all the elegance and sweetness of fine Belgian chocolate but without all the calories. He maintains a polite aura about him, speaking properly, annunciating confidently and singing gloriously on pitch. Sometimes, this formal behavior and strong sense of morality can be seen as stuffy or prudish as he rarely sways what he considers right, polite, necessary or important at the time. This can lead him to seem stubborn or unyielding but he most often has the best of intentions in mind. Though he can get angry, it is rare to see Gumball act outright rude, obnoxious or antagonistically toward anyone, even if he finds them to be distasteful or rude themselves. This does not mean he will not speak his mind, he has no trouble doing that, however he usually will mostly only do so if provoked first or if one of his subjects or passions are compromised. On this occasion, he can show a rather dark and malicious side.

Due to his abundance of free time and his knack for being quite the brainiac, he has dedicated a good portion of his life to science. With a but of a mad scientist edge, he can often be seen concocting experiments and completely engrossing himself in extremely complex projects with grossly technical terms. He takes his work in science very seriously and is extremely intelligent so he's usually very successful in his endeavors, though can get angry if he puts a lot of work into something only to have it crash around him. Also, considering he puts extreme dedication into experiments, he can drive himself to exhaustion and obsession. On top of being able to speak a variety of languages as well, he has a variety of really stupid hobbies such as Battle-Whistling.

Because he was raised as royalty and often leaves most of the day-saving and daily chores to others, he can also come off as kind of a lightweight. Some of his inabilities (such as climbing a ladder) may be due to just his expectations but he has demonstrated little interest in being able to defend himself from the forces of evil or the forces of annoying. If it came down to a crunch, he would be able to manage but for the most part, he seems to appreciate his loyal subjects and will kindly move out of the way if his honor or well-being need defending.

With his wardrobe pallet of entirely pink, he doesn't really seem very manly as he dons an apron to bake cream puffs with absolute expertise or knit sweaters for all of his friends. He soothing singing voice and romantic tendencies probably don't help that image either.

Overall, Gumball is a confident and elegant leader with a passion for all things SCIENCE!

( Strengths/Weaknesses ) :
Prince Gumball, for the most part, looks and acts like a regular and normal human being. Besides his unyielding scientific knowledge, excellent baking skills, superior knitting and lovely singing voice, he is pretty average overall. Except with pink skin an hair. However, he is not a human being and is actually a candy person and made entirely of bubblegum. It's not entirely clear what sorts of abilities this gives him but he can be pieced back together and healed with sugar if necessary.
Also, as a Candy Person, he has the potential to explode if he gets extremely frightened.

( Other Important Facts ) :
Most of his personality and abilities are taken from Princess Bubblegum and worked to fit him. He is a little different from her but pretty much just the male version of her.

( Sample ) :
Prince Gumball frowned as he looked up at the sky. Clouds had begun gathering in and typically when enough atmospheric water vapor condenses into large cumulonimbus clouds, that means that droplets will then form and precipitate all over the place! And if Bubba Gumball knew one thing about rain (well, two things if you count the cause and effect of clouds forming), then it was that rain was wet. Very very wet.

"Oh tiddlywinks…" he said, not even trying to mask the pout on his face but also within his voice. He didn't have to look very long on his person to see that he was quite unprepared for this sort of weather. What good is his finest silk clothing in mauve when the rain was threatening to get it wet and ruin it forever? "And me without my umbrella!"

Gumball quickly sought refuge under a conveniently placed tree, noting its unlikely yet appreciated availability in his time of need. He had arrived not a moment to soon, for the sky lit up with lightening and was soon followed by the oddest sounding thunder that had ever been heard. Gumball gave one of his prominent eyebrows a raise and wondered if perhaps the cloud people had installed subquackers with their new sound system. The thunder he had heard was definitely a 'quack' and he was about to insist to himself that no one could tell him otherwise when the sky opened up and it began to rain.

Though, technically it was raining but the liquid precipitation that Gumball had been expecting came down in solid rubber duckies. Now, the completely crazy idea of the sky quacking was one thing but to have the clouds suddenly rain rubber ducks? Now that was an entirely different story! To put it lightly, it was completely unexpected!

After all, the forecast had not called for rubber ducks until Thursday.
