Please note that as of July 28th, Vatheon will start working towards end game.

August 31st is the last day for applying. We will no longer open applications after that. Thank you for your consideration.

» Please make sure that you read the rules, and check the reserves before applying. People who do not read the rules will be rejected immediately.

» You are allowed to apply for two characters per application cycle. You may also reserve two characters. We will try to review each application as soon as possible. If longer than a week has passed and you have not heard back anything about your application, please drop us a message.

» Don't lie in your application. Don't copy / paste things from wiki. Keep what you post in your application strictly you. Sure, it's hard to add your own flair to writing history or a personality, but try to keep from summarizing too much. Show us your shine! Plagiarizing another player's application is ground for an immediate rejection.

» If someone has a reserve for a character, and you want to apply for them, you have the choice of either A) challenging the application with one of your own or B) waiting until the reserve expires and then applying/reserving as the character. If you challenge the original reserver, your application will not be reviewed until the original reserver has submitted theirs.

» Currently, the character limit is five characters. Any more is up to the mods, and must be discussed ahead of time with them. You may only apply for two characters from the same canon.

» Keep spamming to a minimum on the applications. Wait until that person is accepted into the game before holding out a conversation on a thread. Comment spamming here makes things cluttered, and a mod may accidentally miss something important. ( But feel free to comment-spam the Reserve page, if you'd like. )

» Please don't skip over any section of the application below.

» Please finish your application before posting. We reserve the right to decline any applications that are still unfinished when we process them.

» When reviewing applications, we take opinions of our members into consideration. If you would like to make a comment about an app that is being decided upon, do not hesitate. Here is where you can leave a comment with what you thought of another app. All comments will be screened for privacy, and the option to be anon will be left on. Do note, player opinions do not decide if an application is accepted or not, but will be taken into consideration.

( Character's Age ) : There is no set age limit for the characters, and in fact, this is very flexible. So long as your character is mature enough to take care of him or herself and is mature enough for the game, they can be apped! As a basic guideline, think the maturity of someone around the age of 13 or so.
( Series ) :
( Canon Point ) : What part of the story of the series is your character coming in after? Did he or she just die? Did something traumatic just happen? Is it near the end, the beginning, or the middle? Tell us!
( Playability ) : If you are apping your second person for a particular canon, please give us a quick reasoning on why the characters would not be extensively interacting/how you are planning to avoid any playercest issues. If you are not apping from a canon you already play in, please disregard this section.

( History ) : You may provide us with a link to a wiki-page, or something else that will sufficiently give the Community and the mods background on your canon. If you wish to write out the history yourself, you still may do such.

( Personality ) : Probably the most important part of the application! Tell us what your character is like. We're looking for a well-developed analysis of the character. Perhaps between three to five paragraphs, roughly. Feel free to do more or less, however, if you think that better suits you. Most applications will be closer to the three than the five, and that's completely okay!

Just make sure to hit on crucial aspects of that character. What does he or she like? What does he or she hate? What are his or her motives? What parts of your character's past influenced how they are? Does your character act differently in front of different groups of people? Think of these questions as you write. Feel free to go off the page and focus on other questions. The above questions were just to get you thinking.

( Strengths/Weaknesses ) : So tell us! What can your character do well? What is your character weak against? Any cool spells? Good at picking locks? Anything you can think of, put it here.

( Other Important Facts ) : Have something else important to mention about your character that doesn't really fit in anywhere else? Be sure to include it here!

( Sample ) : This can be in first person or third person. There's no limit to your sample post. Just be sure to include your character's voice. Don't just write your character walking around! Be sure to include thoughts, quirks, and anything else that shows us you know your character. How would he or she react to the mark? How would he or she react to waking up some place new? Is he or she still brooding over something? The sample does not have to be set in Vatheon. You may also link to other roleplay threads; just be sure to give us something that shows how you plan to play them and clearly shows their voice! Or feel free to do a few of the above. Whatever you think will best show your characterization.

Please note! If you are linking samples, please make sure that at least one sample is from within the last three months. You are still free to link other samples that are older in addition, if you feel these would help show your ability to play the character, but at least one sample needs to be recent. Thank you.

If you are unable to think of a good starting point for a sample, we collected some prompts of situations that are pretty likely to happen within Vatheon to start you off. You are very welcome to deviate from these prompts or come up with something completely new. This is just something to hopefully help you get started:

Rainbow Dash's History

( Personality ) :
Rainbow is a paradox when it comes to her activity. She's an athlete, an avid one at that, but she can be extremely lazy with her duties. This is first seen in episode one, where the audience sees Rainbow chilling on a cloud and not doing anything to clear the skies. She told Twilight that she'd do it later, and only got it done (in ten seconds, even!) when she was challenged by the unicorn. Her dream is to become one of the Wonder Bolts, the best of the best of Pegasuses in terms of flight speed and aerial maneuvers. Every day, Rainbow will spend her free time perfecting old tricks and making new ones to wow every pony in order to catch the eye of her dream team. She's also reckless and impatient, the prime example being her charging a sleeping dragon to try getting it away from Ponyville. In that same episode, she also displays high levels of impatience with Fluttershy being so skittish of high mountains and dragons. Rainbow is also a notorious prankster, and teams up with Pinkie Pie for various pranks every now and then.

Her athleticism in turn makes her a tomboy in personality. She's not afraid to get her hooves dirty, and has a hard time with giving details for what she wants. For example, when Rarity was making a dress for Rainbow, she was horrendously vague with how she wanted her dress' style by saying that it should be something 'cool,' but gave nothing for her friend to work with. She's also highly competitive, highlighted especially in an episode in which she and Applejack have two competitions against each other. Sometimes, her competitive streak will get in the way of what's really important, but she tries to learn from it.

A major part of Rainbow's personality is her loyalty to her friends. In the first two episodes, she demonstrates this when approached by the "Shadowbolts" and asked to join them. The catch was that she had to leave her friends in order to do so. Instead of taking the opportunity, Rainbow declines it, saying that her friends are more important to her. Later on, Twilight reveals that the Spirit of Loyalty is Rainbow Dash, thereby recreating the gemstone that symbolizes this spirit.

She's stubborn in her views and what she wants, even more so when she's competing. This also feeds into her overconfidence and bragging nature. Rainbow has a hard time asking for help or showing weakness in general. For example, in an upcoming competition in Cloudsdale, she was going to perform a sonic rainboom (a sonic boom and a rainbow formation at the same time), but during practice she just couldn't do it. She didn't admit that she was suffering from a huge bout of panic from her nerves, especially when Rarity's temporary wings garnered so much attention from the other pegasi.

Rainbow has also discovered a love of reading, especially if it features Daring-Do (the female Indiana Jones of the pony world). At first, she tells Twilight Sparkle that reading is for dweebs. However, after getting bored within five minutes, she gives in to reading the Daring-Do book. Her pride prevents Rainbow from admitting that she is wrong and really enjoys reading. This, of course, leads to her trying to sneak in and steal the book so she can read the end of it when she's kicked out of the hospital at the end of the episode.

There is some humility in her. In The Mysterious Mare Do Well, she finds that she enjoys helping people and being their hero. Naturally, it starts going to her head, but her friends conspire in teaching her that it's cool to be a hero, but it's not cool when you let the heroics go to your head and swell up your ego. This also shows that Rainbow can learn her lesson when she makes a mistake, but proving that she needs to correct herself might take some drastic measures. Another example of this is when she gets her own pet in May the Best Pet Win, where she holds a race to see which pet can match her speed and cross the finish line with her. Instead of the falcon, she chooses a tortoise because not only does it save her from being trapped underneath a pile of rocks, but it carries her across the finish line.

Her ability with the weather is basically by manipulating the clouds. She can jump on them to create rain, part the clouds, destroy clouds to make clear skies, push them around to make a cloudy day, and clouds are basically solid to her and others like her. Rainbow Dash can also create whirlwinds and tornados by flying at high speeds around and around someone or something. If she goes fast enough, she can also create a sonic rainboom.

( Personality ) :
Lucrecia is a very tortured but very kind soul caught in the midst of circumstances that were beyond her control. She is incredibly bright, being one of the top scientific minds of her time but unfortunately extremely stubborn and unwilling to compromise even when it's necessary.

She carries a lot of guilt about the past, blaming herself for the death of Vincent Valentine's father, for not being able to raise her child Sephiroth and for being responsible for Vincent's death and rebirth as the vessel for Chaos. Because of the Jenova cells she also injected herself with -- it caused a madness that slowly gnawed away at the core of who she was until she could no longer live with it.

She can be playful, mischievous but very passive aggressive at times even if the other party does not deserve it. She would often times tease Vincent when he was a Turk and went to great lengths to try and cover up how upset she was about Grimoire's death, although, later we find out that her feelings were genuine. Often times her passive aggressive tendencies are linked directly back to guilt.

She is subject to short but intense bouts of anger and grief because of her loss and things she was determined to do that only failed her. Despite this she does push past these feelings and attempt to good for Vincent and the rest of the world by aiding Vincent through Shelke (who had collected many of her fragments) showing that even if she was too weak to continue at the time of her death she is still strong enough to be there for Vincent when she is needed most. She encourages Vincent to fight Chaos within him and diligently tries to reach him even though she feels she has ultimately failed him in the end.

She is incredibly stubborn, even going through with the procedure to have Sephiroth despite the effects on her body; and, trying every possible thing she could think of to save Vincent and bring him back to life. Because she was constantly pushed and tormented by Hojo she has aversions to conflict and dislikes feeling powerless or unable to affect a situation that's damaging to another person. Especially if she cares for them.

She is easily excited by scientific discoveries and findings. She enjoys being intellectually stimulated and feels as though she has to prove herself to others, or even, prove others wrong when they doubt her. (Shown whenever she finds the Chaos element and it results in Grimoire's death). Because of this it can drive her to do things that are almost childish in nature or foolish and not think of the aftermath clearly until it's too late.

Overall she is a good person with a good heart but even with the best of intentions, she is easily swayed by her feelings and eventually destroyed by them. She is unstable but despite that does her best to do what she can, no matter what it is.



( Strengths/Weaknesses ) :
Unfortunately Lucrecia has no real strengths. She is not a capable fighter or a magic caster. This isn't to say she wouldn't be able to use materia given the opportunity but she has no access to any currently. Her greatest asset is her knowledge about sciences, biology and the ancients from her world which is not currently applicable to Vatheon.

It is unknown where Vincent was born. All roads do suggest however, that he was raised in Midgar by his widowed father, Grimoire Valentine. It can be assumed that he was raised through childhood in a middle to upper class environment and attended school. Sometime later, he joined the elite group "The Turks," then known as ShinRa Electric Power Company's "Department of Administrative Research." During this time, he learned to be a valuable marksman and shows ease and grace in firearm shooting. Little else is known about Vincent in his early years.

( Personality ) :
Vincent is, and has always been, a very quiet man. Shy and introspective, he has a tendency to do a lot of listening and only speaks when he feels it necessary. He is generally very serious in nature, but will on occasion surprise you with a witty remark.

As a Turk, Vincent was seen to be soft spoken, sweet and somewhat naive in nature. Chivalrous and loyal to a fault, he seemed to have a strong sense of justice and right and wrong. A hopeless puppy when it came to romantic situations, he had a difficult time standing up for his desires when Lucrecia, the woman he was in love with, fled from him due to issues revolving around his father's death. He also had trouble pushing hard enough for his beliefs when she shocked him with the news of using herself and her unborn child in an experiment.

After the events that would change his life -- and body -- forever, Vincent adopted a colder, more cynical shell to replace the sweetness he had before. Blaming himself for being unable to stop Lucrecia and , therefore, the outcome of the Jenova Project, he allows himself to drown in guilt. This guilt was a large factor in what drove him to decision to sleep (or allow himself to be put to sleep since it's not well explained) in the basement of the ShinRa Mansion for 30 years. This reveals that Vincent is extraordinarily hard on himself to the point of perfectionism.

Horrified by what he has become, Vincent sees himself as a monster and lets that help create further distance between himself and other people (Most likely out of fear of harming them.) Constantly submerged in his own thoughts and feelings, he tends to swaddle himself in a stoic silence meant to keep others out. Persistence will be needed, if your aim is getting to know him.

Despite the chilly exterior and harsh words that make up his outer mask, Vincent is, to this day, a very compassionate and good person. He will be quick to tell you how much he doesn't care to get involved, but in the end he always comes through. This is especially true in situations involving children, whom he seems to have a soft spot for. Although Vincent commonly chooses to fight alone, he is loyal to those whom he has worked with in the past -- making him likely to assist someone if he is familiar with them.

Vincent is not very materialistic and may never have been. While he seems to carry money enough to buy what he needs, he does not own a house, land or anything noteworthy in the assets department -- he's a wanderer. The most we have so far seen him to indulge in, is a glass of red wine when the feeling strikes him.

Vincent is the classic antihero: The man who avoids situations where people rely on him too much, but winds up saving and upholding from the shadows, asking for no glory or praise in return. (Like batman 8D )


( Strengths/Weaknesses ) :
Strengths:
Due to the enhancements that were the product of an experiment on his body, Vincent has increased stamina, speed and reflexes over that of a normal person. Aside from that, Vincent is an excellent gunner and is capable of transforming into a large, blue beast ("Galian Beast"), with white mane and horns that can throw fireballs and do massive physical damage. He can only hold this transformation for a limited amount of time.

When under great stress or trauma, it is possible for Vincent to be taken over by a being called "Chaos", who resides within him. During this time, Vincent will remain in control as long as the materia that resides in his chest, the "Protomateria" is not removed. If removed, Vincent will eventually succumb to Chaos and will act violent and turbulent, leading up to murderous rampage. This form grants Vincent the benefit of wings and further feats of speed and strength. It also allows him to use the "Death Penalty", a gun that seems to only appear when he is in this form. This is both a strength and a weakness in my opinion.

With the help of materia, Vincent is able to cast some magic.

Weaknesses:
Despite all of these physical abilities, Vincent is somewhat mentally damaged. Therefore, most of his weaknesses lay in his own troubled mind. He succumbs to bouts of depression and moodiness easily and has a great deal of trouble asking for help or comfort. He still harbors some guilt where Lucrecia is concerned and while having seemed to have lightened up about this since near the end of Dirge, it's unlikely that he's over it entirely.

While his guns do a lot of damage, they do not have infinite bullets. He will run out eventually, and need to buy/make more.

Even though his body has been enhanced, Vincent's brute strength is definitely not his most note worthy skill. Outside of transforming into Galian Beast (which seems to sacrifice his speed/stealth for raw power and endurance) that is. Cloud for example, would outrank Vincent in brute strength by quite a margin -- being a swordsman and specializing in dealing heavy blows with his heavy sword. Vincent excels in being quick, accurate and stealthy. He is strong enough to vault from building to building and do crazy acrobatics, but is a long range fighter for a reason.

( Other Important Facts ) :
From the point in the timeline that I am taking Vincent from, he has had the protomateria returned to him, and has at least partially resolved some of his confusion (and a small amount of guilt) involving Lucrecia. It is incomplete however, and is a work in progress.

It is unclear whether or not Vincent requires food or sleep when he isn't off pulling crazy stunts that wear down his physical condition. It is also unknown if he is capable of getting sick.

Given that she was fragmented (in other words! Her mind was split up into a bunch of various pieces and scattered) I thought it might be more fun and realistic to play her as though she has doesn't remember events in Dirge of Cerberus because she was technically dead?
