Below is a place to thread out quick little conversations with the NPCs that aren't worth an entire log. Vatheon's staple NPCs will have postings here, and all the other new quest NPCs will simply be listed under the "Quest NPCs" comment header. Please put in the subject line which quest you're talking with an NPC about!

Is that so? How do you find this magic so far, then?

[He is curious what mages from other worlds think of it!]

You're a jerk!

Yeah, you're a big meanie!

[Are the boys united against Stein? It looks like they might be...]

Well, one of them has a window, and the other has a door... but I think they can hear you through their wall.

[Sometimes they'll yell corrections at her through the wall.]

Brothers are stupid, they leave messes all over the place!

[He holds his foot up and sticks it in Sola's face.]

I stepped on one of his legos!

[There's... not even a mark at this point.]

[thalassino]

Yes, that's fine! Umm, here, their room is this way.

[She leads Fai back to the boys' room. Sure enough, there's a ramshackle wall right down the middle. One of the boys is on this side, and he looks up at Fai curiously.]

I don't think I'm strong enough to punch down a wall... could you do it, mister?

[She looks hopeful.]

[circumsutus]

I'm glad you agree on something.

[thalassino]

They won't even come out to get dinner at the same time. I think you'll have to do it one at a time.

[She leads them back to the boys' room. Sure enough, there's a wall right down the middle of it.]

[thalassino]

Uhh... yeah kid, of course! I'm very grateful.

[Wow, he didn't expect anyone to get excited over that...]

[seablaze]

[It's okay! The pirate's action was pretty bad at times too!]

Aye. A fresh delivery at that.

[A nod as he hefts the bag on to the counter. FRESH MER-TAILS! Well as fresh as the walk allowed. How do they stay fresh in the inventory like that?]

We'll be back with the other ingredients if you're set on them.

[He's not so sure that Fai isn't just adding MORE sparkle to the house by being in it... but he'll stay quiet. Maybe he'll act like a glitter magnet and take it all with him.]

Lady, you have no idea.

[He opens his door, revealing the biggest glitter explosion known to man.]

[thalassino]

That's right. Be a dear and bring back a sample, won't you?

[She doesn't look very troubled, honestly.]

[Better catch his interest fast, Sola.]

[She smiles tiredly, then leads him back to her boy's room. The kid has taken to banging pots and pans now.]

You have a visitor!

[All eyes on Fai!]

[thalassino]

Please. Just for a little while, I just need a nap...

[Why she hasn't been able to get one is pretty clear: The sound of the boy bouncing off the walls is way too noisy!]

[She laughs, clapping Pepper on the shoulder. A little hard at that. Ouch...]

I think you'll find you already have everything you need, you just need someone to remind you how AMAZING your body is.

[thalassino]

[The sister brightens slightly, then takes Stein's hand.]

Well, if you don't make up, I'm going to marry Mr. Stein so I have some help dealing with you two!

[There's silence, and then... suddenly there are two little boys scrambling to tear down that wall.]

[thalassino]

Oh but of course! It is not every day that such fascinating creatures are available for the cooking. I will be waiting! Oar-rev wah!

[He waves happily.]

[Waves waves in a cheery manner. He doesn't mind kids at all. He's almost like a big one himself sometimes. He walks in and plops down, making himself at home.]

I heard you like stories! I have one that I hope you will like~

It all starts in a faraway kingdom where a princess was waiting for her prince. She was loved by all her subjects, but above all she was loved by one little boy who lived in the village. They were childhood friends and they were always by each others side. Until one day, an evil wizard cast a terrible spell! He made the princess forget all about her past and especially about the little boy. Desperate to save her, the little boy went on a quest to a powerful witch. The witch told him she would grant him the ability to get back the princess' memories..but it would come at a price. She would never be able to remember the little boy.

Determined, the boy agreed to the witch's deal. And she gave him three companions to help him on his guest! A little talking bunny, a friendly and loveable magician, and a grumpy ninja. Along with the princess these travelers moved across worlds, collecting her memories and fighting all kinds of perils. You see..the princess' memories were very strong and whomever had them was granted great power! So everyone wanted them and when they had them they refused to give them up. But the boy was determined to return the princess to her home with her memories intact and so he fearlessly battled all the monsters.

The travelers rode dragons, visited the moon, talked to ghosts, and even flew on air cars..all to win back the memories. They met many incredibly people along the way, some that helped them on their journey. As they traveled the princess made new memories with her new friends, including the boy she has forgotten. These new memories have become even more precious to her then the ones she lost. But both her and the boy dreamed of returning home.

[Fai pauses. The story from this point on could get rather dark. He decides it might be for the best to change things up from the story he knows. His smile still in place he continues.]

Finally they came upon the powerful wizard that had stolen her memories away! There was a long and difficult battle and all of them were very injured. But the boy had great strength and his love for the princess was the most powerful magic of them all. Summoning everything he had inside of him, he sent a powerful blast towards the wizard. It was the power created from his feelings for the princess. The wizard was defeated! And with that the princess and the boy were able to return to their home world. Grateful for all that the boy had done, the princess found that she loved him as much as he loved her. It was a love that was able to transcend worlds and dimensions and time.

And so they were able to live happily ever after together on their world along with their new friends. [Fai hopes that is how the story ends..]

[Fai is definitely a glitter magnet and is also surprisingly thorough. By the time he is done the house practically sparkles in a good clean way.]

[Fai offers a smile to the boy as he walks in. He looks up at the wall and feels a ping inside his heart. He reaches out and places a hand against it.]

How awful to be separated from one that you love. Brothers are a thing to be cherished and held onto..because you never know when you might not get to see them again.

[He looks over.] What did he do to possibly cause such a wall to be built?

[Stein chuckles, patting her hand, then addresses the brothers.]

If you two don't start getting along, I just might take her up on the offer.

It's very interesting! With my magic I had to whistle to make it effective. With this, I simply summon it from my body. I like it! It's so much easier to understand this way because you simply have to know your own body, versus memorizing specific tunes.

How clever! It's good to know when you are running out of time. Who knew watermelons were so smart? Ah..maybe its the body that is smart! Because it knows when the magic is running out. Either way, very fun!

They really do deserve a song of their own! Maybe some day we can come up with one together to celebrate the watermelon.
