| Want your character to suddenly be from a different canon point than that which you put on their application? Never fear! That is what this post is for. Just comment here, using the form, and you'll be set! It might be nice to let everyone know on the ![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png){kind=small} vatheonooc as well, as your character will be disappearing for a time.ICly, your character will feel the sudden, inexplicable, powerful urge to touch the coral. And when he or she touches it, the marking on their body will glow red for a brief moment, and then they will disappear. They will reappear three Vatheon days later, no matter how much time passed in their canon, having experienced all that occurred between the original canon point and the new one. They may reappear anywhere in Vatheon, not just the center plaza, so feel free to be creative! The character may also reappear after a longer period than three days if that is more convenient, however three days is the barest minimum of time the character will be out of Vatheon. Original canon point:Just after the Wind Shrine
New canon point: When the Siren sticks them in the spell right after the Ship's graveyard.
Major changes: Nothing in terms of abilities. Just further realizing the relation with Lenna and the King of Tycoon, the traveling partners know he's a she, and that Faris has lost Syldra. Will be pretty drained/weak as well since the Siren was snatching their life force.

...They promptly buggered off to the moon, but she's bound and determined to go after them and pound some logic into their head with her first of couRAGE. So she's sure coming back a lot feistier than she was before.

Yukari Takeba (
Original canon point: Beginning of the Answer, right after they first enter the Abyss of Time
New canon point: Towards the end; right after she loses the fight against Aigis (and Metis). Alongside Mitsuru, that is.
Major changes: Mainly her state of mind. She's at her most vulnerable here I think; she has a bit more insight into her friends' pasts, but at the same time, it shows just how far she's willing to go to see Minato again after losing him--even so far as to go against them. Since she'll retain all her memories of her time in Vatheon though, at the same time, it'll be nice and confusing as she tries to resort out of her feelings.
Also she'll be nice and beat up upon her return yep.

Solf J. Kimblee (
Original canon point: ~Around chapter 76-77, in the Baschool mines after fighting with Ed
New canon point: Chapter 93, post death
Major changes: Sort of, yeah!
Basically after he got his new orders from Pride in the Baschool mines, Kimblee went up to Drachma and persuaded them to attack Briggs and pretty much declare war between the Drachmans and Amestrians after a shaky non-aggression pact. After the Drachman army is pretty much slaughtered (and the crest of blood carved into Briggs to serve as the final point for the nationwide transmutation circle), he disappears to 'rescue' Pride. Shortly after, it's him and Pride versus Alphonse up until Heinkel, one of his former Chimera bodyguards, decides to go Lion and bite him through the neck.
And then Pride eats him.
So while his personality doesn't really change at all, he ends up further down the line and into the belly of a Homunculus.

Original canon point: End of DDS1, after the Karma Temple exploded but before Serph ended up in the Real World.
New canon point: DDS2, first visit to the EGG. Just after Serph falls into the EGG fluid and vegetates for like, 10 levels. Lazy bastard doesn't even master his Mantra.
Major changes: He'll be initally weaker than he was before the Junkyard went boom (much of that data got reset, after all) but he could regain some of that strength with liberal amounts of local cuisine--
He'll have better knowledge of what he is and what the Junkyard's purpose was, while being totally kosher with helping people who hate and fear him. Also, he'll have more clues that he's done Bad Things that he doesn't remember, which has caused Heat to turn against him. But it's okay, he understands this is his karma.
Oh. And Serph will have just had his guts literally punched out. He doesn't need those intestines anyway.

Tiir Rumibul (
Original canon point: After being knocked out by Lir.
New canon point: During his fight with Lieral, after Lieral turns the tables on him.
Major changes: His leader seems to have informed him about the existence of "Priests", aka the Powers That Be that control things in his world and created his kind. Furthermore, he's learned that the Iino Doue exists to kill Lieral, which he doesn't seem too happy over.
Also, Lieral just skewered him repeatedly. He's not too happy about that either.
I'm gonna attempt the tricky 2x canon update!!
Squall Leonhart (
Original canon point: Before boarding Galbadia Garden
New canon point: After returning from space
Major changes: Squall better recognizes the changes in his personality and is much more open to socialization now. He knows more about what's happening in his world and about big bad Ultimecia and about that goofball, Laguna Loire. Oh, and also he might totally like girl he's been traveling with too.
Cielo (
Original canon point: End of DDS1
New canon point: Post death in DDS2
Major changes: OH BOY HE ACTUALLY KNOWS STUFF NOW. He now knows he's an AI, originally meant to be Sera's Bestest Friend and repurposed as a combat AI. He knows that the "Nirvana" they wanted so badly in the Junkyard is actually the real world and it suuuuuuucks. He's now met the DDS2 cast and watched a lot of people die (and one undie). His outlook on life has changed a little bit from it, having watched people fear him for being a demon and look down on him for being a computer program, and the impending end of the world.
But he's still Cielo, no worries.

Original canon point: End of Disc 2, when she falls into a coma
New canon point: Beginning of Disc 4, when Seifer throws her at Adel
Major changes: Despite being in a coma for more than half the time lapsed in her update, Rinoa undergoes a lot of maturing. Between being possessed, and then setting free a sealed up Sorceress tyrant and causing monsters to crash down onto her planet and causing death and destruction in a major city, she's got a lot of weight on her shoulders and mind, even if she wasn't really at fault. But she also comes to understand just how much her friends, and in particular one really anti-social Commander cares about her.

Major changes: He'll be coming back with a lot more knowledge. He'll know that he's a program, and he'll have a lot more general information about the real world, and the problems in it. He'll have more of the memories of the man David who is connected to him, and he'll know a lot more about Angel. Most importantly to him, though, he'll know who Lupa's son is.

Major changes: Besides dying, Riff learns everything about Riffael and discovers he's a deadly doll, a glorified Zombie, basically, he also kills Riffael so it's just Riff up there.

Major changes: Well it's now year two of the kids' magical long fruity rumpass journey to meet up with Rose and Dave. Jade's already had her summer lovin' and breakup from mister super complicated feathery douchebag Dave Sprite and watched Con Air with her loving brother on his 15th birthday.
Then he threw a tantrum and fell asleep on the driveway. So yeah she's become a straight man to her brother's more overreactive actions (to be fair to him, he's kind of stir-crazy).

Major changes: Feferi will have spent a significant period of time in the dream bubbles, only to have her body prototyped with that of Nepeta's to become dear, sweet Fefetasprite. For a period of months, she remained in this form and was the resident happy as can be catfish sprite. A brief emotional crisis tore the two apart because boys are dumb, and then she was herself again.
She promptly played dress up with Nepeta on a pirate ship, played some music, and then flew off to god knows where with Sollux.
All in all, she hasn't changed too much.

New canon point: Daath, right after his memories of his family return.
Major changes: Four big ones:
- His curse slot will be removed.
- His past will have been revealed to the rest of the party.
- Van's plans are becoming clearer - Guy will know for sure that Hod was predetermined in the Score, and the party will know Guy had been sided with Van until recently.
- Due to a triggering event, Guy will have regained his memories of the moment his family was killed - a memory that gave him his female phobia in the first place. He'll be fresh from this.
He'll be more resolved to get home and make sure Van's plans don't follow through, be more open to his castmates, and how he deals with women will improve - knowing what causes his phobia won't be a cure in itself, but it will change him.

New canon point: End of the 3rd OVA
Major changes:
The significant changes that will affect Washu is primarily her memories. She will remember who/what she was before she became human. Why she became human and that Tsunami and Tokimi are her sisters. Washu will remember their search to find a higher being more powerful than the three Chousin and that it's been revealed to be Tenchi.
Also, she will know everything that happened in OVA3. Her personality will remain mostly the same. She'll just be a little more knowing and perhaps a little more relaxed. And also know what her three gems are.
She would have also regained knowledge of her abilities as a goddess.. which could literally break the universe if she were take on her full form. [This is obviously going to be tempered or locked away by the coral/game mechanics. She'll be aware she can do it but just can't do it. If that's okay x.x]
As for physically, she'll pretty much remain the same.

SPOILERS PAST THIS POINT
When he took Usamaro to the shrine while reminiscing about the time Yukio got lost during the same festival eleven years prior. Remembering his father brought back painful memories that Usamaro then tried to 'erase'. Rin grabbed the "scribbles" that were made up of Usamaro's power and tail only to be caught mid-way between forgetting and remembering. At that moment he saw himself and Yukio as children in a memory, going to Shiro about the book he had, but couldn't recall who Shiro was, just that he was "someone important".
Major changes:
-It's winter in True Cross, indicating that it's been some months since the events of the anime
-Little has changed. Rin is still an exwire, Yukio is still a professor. Yukio has the pointed ears of a demon, but it appears like the rest of his demonic traits have toned down since then. It's only brought up once that they're "both half-demons" without any insistence from Yukio to the contrary for himself. Rin appears to have slightly better control of his flames and doesn't go hog-wild with them, though his swordsmanship still lacks. Painfully.
-His personality won't be affected too greatly, but he will come back with a stronger desire to protect/help people, rather than just "do his job" as an exorcist, and a stronger desire to reach out to those like himself.
-His mind will be a touch scrambled upon his return, and it'll take a little time for the effects of what Usamaro was doing to him to wear off, since he was yanked right in the middle of having his memories messed with. This will be a temporary effect.

Karkat Vantas (
Original canon point: Taking "original" to mean "most recent", since he was updated once, that was his last conversation with John on the meteor, just before John set off the Scratch.
New canon point: Post-revival by Jane, about when John and Jade disappear.
Major changes: No special new powers or anything, but Karkat will have spent three years on the meteor, growing gradually more isolated as others get sucked up in their own drama. So, he'll be able to appreciate being around friends again after all that, but he'll still be ornery as ever. Perhaps moreso than he's been, since Vath had mellowed him out some. He'll also definitely understand a lot more of the craziness going on than what hearsay he's had here.

Kid's now Lord Death, Soul no longer has a problem with playing piano in front of other people, I'm telling you this is one happy ending.
Maka remembers Crona fondly and knows that everything will be all right now.
She also gains a new appreciation for boobs.
Wait no.
She also doesn't have a giant chest wound anymore, or really any wound. She's all healed up and stronger now than before and determined to show the world her courage.

Solf J. Kimblee (
Original canon point: When Pride eats him after Alphonse & Co. flee
New canon point: After the fight between Pride and Ed
Major changes: He's dead for good this time! While his physical body was eaten, he still continued to live on inside of Pride, basically twiddling his thumbs until Pride was about to steal Ed's body. He decided to interfere with that process, and "inadvertently" gave Ed enough time to unleash a counter attack. At that point, he vanishes with the destruction of Pride's Philosopher Stone.
TL;DR, Kimblee blocked Pride from stealing Ed's body from within and Kimblee's soul went adios to who-knows-where.
