◣ Application ◢

APPLICATIONS ARE Closed

Applications will always be open from the 22nd until the end of the month, 12:00am EST.

Please note that as of July 28th, Vatheon will start working towards end game.

August 31st is the last day for applying. We will no longer open applications after that. Thank you for your consideration.

» Please make sure that you read the rules, and check the reserves before applying. People who do not read the rules will be rejected immediately.

» You are allowed to apply for two characters per application cycle. You may also reserve two characters. We will try to review each application as soon as possible. If longer than a week has passed and you have not heard back anything about your application, please drop us a message.

» Don't lie in your application. Don't copy / paste things from wiki. Keep what you post in your application strictly you. Sure, it's hard to add your own flair to writing history or a personality, but try to keep from summarizing too much. Show us your shine! Plagiarizing another player's application is ground for an immediate rejection.

» If someone has a reserve for a character, and you want to apply for them, you have the choice of either A) challenging the application with one of your own or B) waiting until the reserve expires and then applying/reserving as the character. If you challenge the original reserver, your application will not be reviewed until the original reserver has submitted theirs.

» Currently, the character limit is five characters. Any more is up to the mods, and must be discussed ahead of time with them. You may only apply for two characters from the same canon.

» Keep spamming to a minimum on the applications. Wait until that person is accepted into the game before holding out a conversation on a thread. Comment spamming here makes things cluttered, and a mod may accidentally miss something important. ( But feel free to comment-spam the Reserve page, if you'd like. )

» Please don't skip over any section of the application below.

» Please finish your application before posting. We reserve the right to decline any applications that are still unfinished when we process them.

» When reviewing applications, we take opinions of our members into consideration. If you would like to make a comment about an app that is being decided upon, do not hesitate. Here is where you can leave a comment with what you thought of another app. All comments will be screened for privacy, and the option to be anon will be left on. Do note, player opinions do not decide if an application is accepted or not, but will be taken into consideration.

☆ Player - - -

( Player Name ) : A nickname will work. Whatever you would like to be listed as.
( Personal DW ) : Not your character's journal. Your own, just in case one of the mods ever needs to contact you that way.
( Age ) : No players under the age of 15, please!
( Timezone ) : Just for reference sake!
( Other Characters ) : At Vatheon, that is. Please list in the following format.
Character ( Character's Journal ) | Series

☆ Character - - -

( Character's Name ) :
( Character's Age ) : There is no set age limit for the characters, and in fact, this is very flexible. So long as your character is mature enough to take care of him or herself and is mature enough for the game, they can be apped! As a basic guideline, think the maturity of someone around the age of 13 or so.
( Series ) :
( Canon Point ) : What part of the story of the series is your character coming in after? Did he or she just die? Did something traumatic just happen? Is it near the end, the beginning, or the middle? Tell us!
( Playability ) : If you are apping your second person for a particular canon, please give us a quick reasoning on why the characters would not be extensively interacting/how you are planning to avoid any playercest issues. If you are not apping from a canon you already play in, please disregard this section.

( History ) : You may provide us with a link to a wiki-page, or something else that will sufficiently give the Community and the mods background on your canon. If you wish to write out the history yourself, you still may do such.

( Personality ) : Probably the most important part of the application! Tell us what your character is like. We're looking for a well-developed analysis of the character. Perhaps between three to five paragraphs, roughly. Feel free to do more or less, however, if you think that better suits you. Most applications will be closer to the three than the five, and that's completely okay!

Just make sure to hit on crucial aspects of that character. What does he or she like? What does he or she hate? What are his or her motives? What parts of your character's past influenced how they are? Does your character act differently in front of different groups of people? Think of these questions as you write. Feel free to go off the page and focus on other questions. The above questions were just to get you thinking.

( Strengths/Weaknesses ) : So tell us! What can your character do well? What is your character weak against? Any cool spells? Good at picking locks? Anything you can think of, put it here.

( Other Important Facts ) : Have something else important to mention about your character that doesn't really fit in anywhere else? Be sure to include it here!

( Sample ) : This can be in first person or third person. There's no limit to your sample post. Just be sure to include your character's voice. Don't just write your character walking around! Be sure to include thoughts, quirks, and anything else that shows us you know your character. How would he or she react to the mark? How would he or she react to waking up some place new? Is he or she still brooding over something? The sample does not have to be set in Vatheon. You may also link to other roleplay threads; just be sure to give us something that shows how you plan to play them and clearly shows their voice! Or feel free to do a few of the above. Whatever you think will best show your characterization.

Please note! If you are linking samples, please make sure that at least one sample is from within the last three months. You are still free to link other samples that are older in addition, if you feel these would help show your ability to play the character, but at least one sample needs to be recent. Thank you.

If you are unable to think of a good starting point for a sample, we collected some prompts of situations that are pretty likely to happen within Vatheon to start you off. You are very welcome to deviate from these prompts or come up with something completely new. This is just something to hopefully help you get started:

A new curse has settled upon the city of Vatheon: Suddenly you character realizes they are unable to lie for the duration of a week. How do they react?

What is this? Is that rain? How nice-- wait a minute, is it raining rubber duckies? Seriously?

Suddenly, by the force of Vatheon, an over zealous npc, or even your character's friends playing a joke, your character suddenly finds themselves wearing clothes they otherwise would never wear. What do?

The city of Vatheon is under attack (again). Giant sea-creatures are wrecking the city (again). Time to prepare for battle.

A new plot development has happened and your character has decided to get some more information from one of the NPCs. How do they proceed?

( Questions? Comments? Concerns? ) : Tell us here!

Legit question! I'll probably work in favor of something like Simply using English in her color for typed text, and black for spoken. Her actual broken English is going to be CAPSLOCK FONT. SHORT SENTENCES.

I also already plan to note that her accent is very heavy and barely comprehensible, at least for new CR.

( Character's Name ) : Dr. Franken Stein
( Character's Age ) : 30
( Series ) : Soul Eater
( Canon Point ) : Right before the battle for BREW (anime canon)
( Playability ) : N/A

( History ) : Wiki

( Personality ) :
Let me just preface this by saying that Soul Eater is one of those canons where pretty much every single character is just plain weird, and Franken Stein is absolutely no exception. When he's first introduced, Stein is pretty much the perfect "mad scientist" figure. He lives in a creepy house in the woods, cuts apart animals and puts them back together, made a zombie out of a dead schoolteacher, and then threatens to take apart the students who tried to come and stop him. After he actually starts teaching at the school, he's shown to be a bit less creepy than he initially presented himself as, though he still somehow manages to turn every single class into a dissection lesson.

In a world where "good" and "order" are essentially the same thing, Stein is a man with a massive bent towards chaos. For his entire life, he's been driven by an intense curiosity and a hatred for man-made rules and authority. This usually manifests itself in his desire to cut things apart. Things, animals, people, anything that he can take apart and put back together (including himself, the scars on his body were nearly all self-inflicted, and he put the screw in his head). He has developed good control over this impulse, though in the past he dissected lots of things, including his weapon, Spirit Albarn (a habit that eventually resulted in Spirit leaving him). Currently, he mostly uses it as a rather effective threat for keeping students and co-workers in line.

Stein's emotional capacity is... odd, to put it simply. He has a reputation for being incredibly emotionally detached and distant, it's been said more than once that he has no capability for real emotional attachments, and even Stein himself has said that he doesn't really understand most emotions. However, he is able to form friendships, shows real care and compassion for his students, and becomes enraged at the mistreatment of a child he does not even know. He has difficulty with emotions, but he does at the very least try to understand, and is not as completely lacking in feeling as some might assume.

As I mentioned before, Stein is inherently chaotic in a world where "order" is the basis for good. He has an intense dislike of his chaotic side, and relies on the "rule of god" to keep it in check. Basically, while he hates the rules and regulations set down by man, he has convinced himself to hold to the rules that Lord Death sets in place simply because they are rules made by a god and not by humans. Because this is the one concept that really holds him in check, he clings to it intensely, and refuses to let himself be swayed from it.

The main problem that Stein faces is Asura's madness stirring up Stein's own latent insanity. In Soul Eater, insanity has a very clear meaning. It is the loss of (or attempted loss of) fear resulting in a loss of self control, activated through some sort of outside influence (usually either the Kishin or Black Blood). Oftentimes (as in Stein's case) it is preluded by a massive amount of hallucinations designed to terrify so that the individual affected by insanity will give into it more quickly. Stein is naturally (because of his destructive and chaotic personality) very vulnerable to insanity, and immediately after the Kishin's revival begins experiencing fits of hallucination and hysterics, and difficulty in remaining self-controlled. He does everything he can to fight it off, since he is aware of how many people are relying on him, and his role in training up a new generation of meisters and weapons, but he is also aware that it is a losing battle, and if the Kishin is not defeated, he will eventually succumb entirely to madness.

( Strengths/Weaknesses ) :
Stein is a meister, and the best to graduate Shibusen so far. He has a wide range of soul-based abilities in addition to his proficiency in hand-to-hand and armed combat. In the anime, he fights without a weapon, with a scythe, and with a massive hammer.

Soul Perception: One of the most basic traits for a meister, though one that not every meister has. In Soul Eater, every soul has a specific wavelength, and soul perception is used to pick up on that wavelength. While usually depicted as a sight-based ability, it has also been described as "smelling" (by Black*Star) or "hearing" (by Soul), though those two examples were one partner without soul perception using their more perceptive partner as a medium. Soul perception lets the user locate and identify souls in the area (human or non-human), recognize specific abilities and species traits, and pick up on basic personality aspects. It is an active, not passive ability, and must be switched on and off. People with soul perception, or who are in any way spiritually perceptive can usually tell when soul perception is being used on them (usually described as an intense, slightly creepy stare).

Wavelength Control: All souls have wavelengths, and understanding and manipulating them is key to a weapon/meister partnership. If the wavelengths of the partners are not properly aligned, it becomes difficult (if not entirely impossible) for them to work together as a team. Misaligned wavelengths result in a weapon being too heavy to lift, or burning their meister. Attempting to force wavelengths to match up has been shown to cause pain to both parties. Stein is a master of wavelength manipulation, and is able to alter his own wavelength in order to partner up with any weapon, or to absorb wavelength attacks.

Soul Force: Because of his immense capability for matching wavelengths, Stein also has the ability to change his soul wavelength to be the most harmful to his opponent's soul. He can then force his wavelength into them with an open-handed strike. This has many of the same results as being hit by an electrical attack would, with the additional ability to force the wavelengths of a weapon and meister out of alignment.

Stein is able to use an additional wavelength manipulation, Soul Stitching, to form literal sutures with his wavelength, which he uses to stitch himself or an opponent to a surface, stitch shut nerves to paralyze an opponent, or stitch up injuries. However, he can only use this attack when fighting with Spirit, who is a master at wavelength control.

While Stein doesn't have any notable physical weaknesses, his mental instability causes lots of problems. While he won't be affected much while in Vatheon, because Asura isn't here to influence his soul, he is prone to hallucinations and irrational violence.

( Other Important Facts ) :
He's got a massive bolt stuck through his head isn't that cool.

( Sample ) :
Postin another game

If the person who put in a Kuroh reserve for this round simply hasn't gotten their app in yet and still intends to, please put them into consideration first. I don't want to step on anyone's toes after all.

Re: Revision

Sure thing! Sorry about that!!! Hope this is okay!

--

Link, from everyone's perspective on Skyloft, is a sleepy boy who's quiet and to himself. Zelda has to frequently make sure he's awake on time for school, given that he really enjoys to sleep in. To everyone, he's that and a good friend who's an easy go-to for favors and errands.

From a beginning glance, that is really the basis of what Link really is: a reliable kid who just so happens to enjoy the frequent nap and long night of sleep. He's diligent in his school work and talented when it comes to flight and combat, and he's a very quiet boy of very, very few words. Though Link is so much more than just silence and kindness. Without the desire to speak very often, that leaves making conversation difficult, yes? Not entirely. Link is a very responsive individual, and easily tells a story or a response with just a simple expression or even a few hand gestures. He's a very expressive guy full of smiles, frowns, grimaces, and the like! And most of the time, everything is easily answered with a simple nod or shake of the head. When called for, however, he can dole out a long, drawn-out explanation, seen after Zelda falls from the comfort of Skyloft and Headmaster Gaepora asks for him to explain.

Link is a reliable friend, as explained before, and that's very quickly proven as the storyline goes on. He's quick to fight for his friends and search the ends of the universe to find them and bring them to safety. Going on long quests and working with difficult tasks and puzzles makes him a clever, sharp warrior throughout his journey. With strength, wisdom, and bravery, the goal of finding Zelda and bringing her home may not be easy to accomplish, but hardly impossible.

Long story short, Link is a quiet boy with brute strength, a good head on his shoulders, and a heavy sense of determination. He's easy to get along with and enjoys the company of anyone and everyone, it's difficult to get him to dislike you. Heck, Groose has been known to bully him since day one and he still quickly becomes friends with him. Of course, if you're Demise or Ghirahim, then he sort of has a problem with you...

wanted to add one more thing!

Link has the patience of a freaking saint. Throughout his entire journey, he withstands difficult tasks and mind-twisting temples full of monsters and puzzles. He learns and gains the polished skill of wisdom through all these locations, gaining strength along the way as he fights powerful foes. He has no fear, able to handle this with all the strength within him. The idea of finding Zelda and defeating Demise fuels his drive, making his journey a long one, but something he knows he can accomplish. With any individual or challenge that comes his way, he faces it with confidence and fearlessness, no matter what the task.

In the first episode she had took on the image of a cat on top of the school building when she first appeared to Tenchi.

Then there was the battle between her and Kagato in Episode 6 where she shape shifted into a large statue she merged with. If you need a link to a episode or summary guide I don't mind providing one.
