◣ Application ◢

APPLICATIONS ARE Closed

Applications will always be open from the 22nd until the end of the month, 12:00am EST.

Please note that as of July 28th, Vatheon will start working towards end game.

August 31st is the last day for applying. We will no longer open applications after that. Thank you for your consideration.

» Please make sure that you read the rules, and check the reserves before applying. People who do not read the rules will be rejected immediately.

» You are allowed to apply for two characters per application cycle. You may also reserve two characters. We will try to review each application as soon as possible. If longer than a week has passed and you have not heard back anything about your application, please drop us a message.

» Don't lie in your application. Don't copy / paste things from wiki. Keep what you post in your application strictly you. Sure, it's hard to add your own flair to writing history or a personality, but try to keep from summarizing too much. Show us your shine! Plagiarizing another player's application is ground for an immediate rejection.

» If someone has a reserve for a character, and you want to apply for them, you have the choice of either A) challenging the application with one of your own or B) waiting until the reserve expires and then applying/reserving as the character. If you challenge the original reserver, your application will not be reviewed until the original reserver has submitted theirs.

» Currently, the character limit is five characters. Any more is up to the mods, and must be discussed ahead of time with them. You may only apply for two characters from the same canon.

» Keep spamming to a minimum on the applications. Wait until that person is accepted into the game before holding out a conversation on a thread. Comment spamming here makes things cluttered, and a mod may accidentally miss something important. ( But feel free to comment-spam the Reserve page, if you'd like. )

» Please don't skip over any section of the application below.

» Please finish your application before posting. We reserve the right to decline any applications that are still unfinished when we process them.

» When reviewing applications, we take opinions of our members into consideration. If you would like to make a comment about an app that is being decided upon, do not hesitate. Here is where you can leave a comment with what you thought of another app. All comments will be screened for privacy, and the option to be anon will be left on. Do note, player opinions do not decide if an application is accepted or not, but will be taken into consideration.

( Player Name ) : A nickname will work. Whatever you would like to be listed as.
( Personal DW ) : Not your character's journal. Your own, just in case one of the mods ever needs to contact you that way.
( Age ) : No players under the age of 15, please!
( Timezone ) : Just for reference sake!
( Other Characters ) : At Vatheon, that is. Please list in the following format.
Character ( Character's Journal ) | Series

☆ Character - - -

( Character's Name ) :
( Character's Age ) : There is no set age limit for the characters, and in fact, this is very flexible. So long as your character is mature enough to take care of him or herself and is mature enough for the game, they can be apped! As a basic guideline, think the maturity of someone around the age of 13 or so.
( Series ) :
( Canon Point ) : What part of the story of the series is your character coming in after? Did he or she just die? Did something traumatic just happen? Is it near the end, the beginning, or the middle? Tell us!
( Playability ) : If you are apping your second person for a particular canon, please give us a quick reasoning on why the characters would not be extensively interacting/how you are planning to avoid any playercest issues. If you are not apping from a canon you already play in, please disregard this section.

( History ) : You may provide us with a link to a wiki-page, or something else that will sufficiently give the Community and the mods background on your canon. If you wish to write out the history yourself, you still may do such.

( Personality ) : Probably the most important part of the application! Tell us what your character is like. We're looking for a well-developed analysis of the character. Perhaps between three to five paragraphs, roughly. Feel free to do more or less, however, if you think that better suits you. Most applications will be closer to the three than the five, and that's completely okay!

Just make sure to hit on crucial aspects of that character. What does he or she like? What does he or she hate? What are his or her motives? What parts of your character's past influenced how they are? Does your character act differently in front of different groups of people? Think of these questions as you write. Feel free to go off the page and focus on other questions. The above questions were just to get you thinking.

( Strengths/Weaknesses ) : So tell us! What can your character do well? What is your character weak against? Any cool spells? Good at picking locks? Anything you can think of, put it here.

( Other Important Facts ) : Have something else important to mention about your character that doesn't really fit in anywhere else? Be sure to include it here!

( Sample ) : This can be in first person or third person. There's no limit to your sample post. Just be sure to include your character's voice. Don't just write your character walking around! Be sure to include thoughts, quirks, and anything else that shows us you know your character. How would he or she react to the mark? How would he or she react to waking up some place new? Is he or she still brooding over something? The sample does not have to be set in Vatheon. You may also link to other roleplay threads; just be sure to give us something that shows how you plan to play them and clearly shows their voice! Or feel free to do a few of the above. Whatever you think will best show your characterization.

Please note! If you are linking samples, please make sure that at least one sample is from within the last three months. You are still free to link other samples that are older in addition, if you feel these would help show your ability to play the character, but at least one sample needs to be recent. Thank you.

If you are unable to think of a good starting point for a sample, we collected some prompts of situations that are pretty likely to happen within Vatheon to start you off. You are very welcome to deviate from these prompts or come up with something completely new. This is just something to hopefully help you get started:

A new curse has settled upon the city of Vatheon: Suddenly you character realizes they are unable to lie for the duration of a week. How do they react?

What is this? Is that rain? How nice-- wait a minute, is it raining rubber duckies? Seriously?

Suddenly, by the force of Vatheon, an over zealous npc, or even your character's friends playing a joke, your character suddenly finds themselves wearing clothes they otherwise would never wear. What do?

The city of Vatheon is under attack (again). Giant sea-creatures are wrecking the city (again). Time to prepare for battle.

A new plot development has happened and your character has decided to get some more information from one of the NPCs. How do they proceed?

( Questions? Comments? Concerns? ) : Tell us here!

( History ) :
Not much is known about Bat's background, and there really may not be much to know. All the residents of the Junkyard were A.I., and though they developed egos of their own, they'd essentially just been machines before - continuously fighting each other. The programs themselves weren't any more than a few years old. Now, they seemed to have all been reborn with souls from the real world and some of these we know the origin of. Bat's is never explained, however. In any case, all we really need to know about him is shown in game.

I'm going to assume you know the basic DDS1 info since you have several cast members already, but JUST TO KEEP THINGS SMOOTH, here's a quick rundown: There are six tribes in the "Junkyard," a place that's always overcast and rainy, where the law has each tribe fight each other for the chance to reach Nirvana. The tribes are the Brutes, the Wolves, the Solids, the Maribel, the Vanguards, and the Embryon. One day, in the middle of a skirmish between the Embryon and the Vanguards, a strange egg-like object appears, shatters, and sends odd rays of energy through all those there. Soon, everyone in the Junkyard gains the ability to turn into demons, as well as an insatiable hunger that can only be quenched by devouring others like them. A girl is found at the scene, Sera, with no memory of how she got there, but with the power to calm the hunger of the tribes with her singing. The Karma Temple, the place that designs the laws for the tribes, gives an order to have her brought there. The Embryon, comprised of the game's main characters, keep her safe at their base, continuing their quest to reach Nirvana by defeating the other tribes. After defeating the Vanguards, they decide to join forces with the Maribel in order to take out the Solids.

Originally second in command of the Maribel, Bat is sent to challenge the Embryon after they make their way through the Maribel base. He's defeated by the group and nearly devoured by Heat until Argilla and Serph stop him. At this, the leader of the Maribel, Jinana, agrees to ally her tribe with the Embryon. This leaves Bat feeling betrayed.

Now, each character in the story has a time after getting the demon virus that they develop their real personality. (This is made obvious by a changing of the eye color from dull gray to the same color as their hair.) For Bat, this occurs after Heat tosses him aside. He warns Jinana not to trust the Embryon, but she simply tells him to tend his wounds. He is left laying on the ground, beaten and furious, as the rest of his tribe walks away from him without a single hand offered toward him to help him up.

After the leaders of both tribes go off to battle the Solids, Bat turns on them all and lets the Solids' leader, Mick the Slug, in on their plan. This allows Mick to take out the Maribel soldiers outside - Jinana included. Beaten, Jinana loses control over the demon inside of her (as she hadn't been devouring others), and the Embryon are forced to fight her. As Argilla speaks to her dying comrade, Bat listens in from above and learns that Sera is at their base.

Believing that Mick will return to the Maribel base to finish off the remaining soldiers, the Embryon head there only to find a trap set by Bat. He detains them enough that the Solids are able to get a hold of Sera and take her to a neutral location. (Leaving the information with a beaten Cielo.) There, they intend to use her to take out the top members of the Embryon. The ruins at Coordinate 136 is an important location for the Embryon (even if they aren't yet aware of it) but merely a strategically advantageous meeting place for Bat. Once they make their way through the puzzle-filled building and all the way up to the top floor, the Embryon finally confront him and Mick.

Heat tries to approach Mick and Bat unarmed, but Bat stabs him in the gut, then telling him that if he defeats Serph he'll earn a place with the Solids. Their plans go awry, of course, and Mick is defeated by Serph and the others. Bat nearly escapes with Sera (leaving Mick to the Embryon) but is stopped by Cielo, who severs one of his wings. He manages to get away and flees to the Brutes, once again changing allegiance.

His arm has healed when he's seen later, likely helped along by munching on a few soldiers since devouring increases a demon's healing rate. The Embryon have laid a trap this time, in the strange ruins of a large ship. With the scent of Sera on the air, and the threats of the Brutes' leader behind him, Bat flies in through the windows to be met by Argilla. The two fight and Bat eventually overwhelms her, letting her know that he devoured Jinana after they left her dead body behind. They're interrupted by the rest of the Embryon, who fight and defeat him. He's left in the ship as the others leave. Just as he's coming around again, the bombs left by the Embryon go off and blow the whole thing to kingdom come.

( Personality ) :
Bat is an utter sleazebag. You can't really call him cowardly because he does fight his own battles (rather than send in a bunch of cronies in his place or something). He's more of a cheater than anything. He wants power, and if not that, then he wants to be at the sides of those who are powerful until he can achieve it. He leaves Mick before the tribe leader is actually defeated, already seeing that things wouldn't go as planned. If he thinks that siding with someone else will get him what he wants, then he'll turn on anyone. He has no true loyalties to anyone other than himself.

Unlike the main characters of the game, Bat has no issue with devouring others. It's possible that the way he repeatedly goes on about how devouring them is natural and that the Embryon "are no different" shows that he does have some sort of complex deep down. However, that would be deep down, and not a top level issue (though possibly something that could be addressed in the future). As it stands, he could seriously hurt his canonmate's reputation.

He's not a friendly person, and he won't be becoming a friendly person any time soon. He may try to devour others, especially if they show similarities to the demons he's used to, coral be damned. It's likely that he will also become jealous of how the Embryon are accepted in this environment and take out that frustration via further hostilities toward them and the more pleasant inhabitants.

( Strengths/Weaknesses ) :
Like every other member of the Junkyard, Bat has a demon form - Camazotz. Unsurprisingly, this gives him the form of a giant bat. While in this form, he has a couple wind based attacks, a guard position (which protects him from everything but earth spells, which he's immune to when flying), and the ability to turn people into little bats (making them weak to wind attacks) while simultaneously getting a bit of health from the spell. He can devour demon and human alike.

He's also skilled with knives, and carries two strapped to his lower back.

Bat has a reputation for being disloyal, and that won't help him should he try to form alliances with anyone while in Vatheon. He also won't be very willing to take any supplements to devouring the flesh of others, even if it's just as simple as touching coral, so that will be something he'll have difficulty getting over.

( Other Important Facts ) :
He paints a red star over one eye. It could be paint or it could just as easily be a tattoo. Given how the Junkyard is mostly a program and wouldn't require him to do things like repaint it on a regular basis, we can probably assume that the star is a permanent fixture.

( Sample ) :
So the Embryon had made it this far. That was impressive, but just showing up and asking for aid wasn't going to earn them an alliance. The Maribel had no need to team up with weaklings. (Especially when a good many of its own members lacked any real skill.) They didn't want to fight, they said after slaughtering and devouring many of the Maribel on the way to their leader. Bat smiled. He didn't know why.

With a nod from Jinana, Bat was walking towards the group. He was the second strongest member of the tribe (Strongest!) and should easily be able to handle these Embryon tribesmen, even if there were three of them.

Dull gray eyes regarded them over his drawn dagger. There was only a hint of threat in his voice as he addressed them. "My name is Bat. Remember it. It will be carved into your corpse."

Then the red-headed one taunted him. (Fool!) He needed no more provocation than that. Moments later, they were engaged in combat.

...Sometime after, he found himself a beaten mess on the ground.

The red one, now a great two-headed monstrosity, approached him and he knew - going to die it isn't fair - but he could hardly move. His legs wouldn't obey him and the best he could do was slide weakly back across the dirt. A huge hand reached for his head, and then -

A gaping maw, set to swallow him whole, obscuring his vision... A great slathering tongue and rows of sharp teeth... going to be sucked into it... going to die...

No, he was still alive. Something, someone had stopped him. Not Jinana. She was his leader, but she knew the law. The same law that allowed Heat to devour him as he was defeated...

Devour your enemies! Ascend to Nirvana!

Was he being saved? Why?

It's an insult. Finish the job.

It was so much easier to be angry now that he'd been spared. Angry? How was that? What was anger? Was it this feeling that threatened to tear his chest apart - that which narrowed his eyes and caused his teeth to clench together painfully?

How dare they? I'll kill them!

He would, but he couldn't move. The red one tossed him aside as Jinana spoke with the pink one... They're flirting! It's disgusting! The announcement was given. The Maribel and the Embryon were to be allies.

Because of their bleeding hearts? As if the red one wouldn't devour our entire tribe given the chance. The woman says some pretty words and Jinana falls all over herself. Why don't they just make out here, and at least give us a show for it? I refuse to work with them. I REFUSE.

His eyes flashed purple and remained that way, voice now heavy with emotion. "Jinana, you can't trust them! If I had more power..."

But she wouldn't listen, already too focused on her new plaything. She told him to tend to his injuries, and though the tone of her voice remained the same monotone, he could just feel her disdain. He could see it in the eyes of his fellow tribesman. He'd lost.

Three to one! It was hardly even. Any of you come at me one on one. I'll kill you all!

They all walked off together, leaving him behind without a word. He hates them all so much he can hardly think straight.

Turn your back on me... I disown all of you.

ALL of you.

( Character's Name ) : Lord Waver Velvet El-Melloi II
( Character's Age ) : 29
( Series ) : Fate/Zero, Fate/Stay Night
( Canon Point ) : Following the events of Fate/Stay Night
( Playability ) : N/A

( History ) :
You can find Waver's personal history here! He never physically appears in the sequel - Fate/Stay Night - himself, but his role in the story following the events of Fate/Zero are expanded on in several official materials. I'll pick up where the wiki more or less leaves off.

Following the Fourth Holy Grail War, Waver travels Europe to figure out his own lot in life and gain some worldly experience. It's only after his eventual return to London that his life resumes its path on the road to "Man, This Sucks."

With Lord Kayneth Archibald El-Melloi and his fiancée killed in the war, the Archibald family has no heir and is left in shambles while the rest of the magi community not-so-politely points and laughs. Feeling a heavy sense of guilt over his former Professor's death despite the years of torment he'd suffered under Kayneth's tutelage, Waver works tirelessly to find a suitable heir and restore the family's name-- which he manages to do after some time. However, the heir apparent is only a little girl, and no self-respecting magus wants to admit that the head of their house hasn't even hit puberty. Especially not with a perfectly good scapegoat who has no idea what he's getting into and no family to claim him sitting right in front of them.

Waver's compassion is what ultimately damns him; bitter over the loss of Kayneth, the Archibald house blames him for the prodigy's death and claim him as Kayneth's unofficial apprentice, binding him to their service for life. He is given the title of El-Melloi as both recognition for his assistance to the family and the final measure that makes him one of their own. With it, he is given his predecessor's position as a professor within Clocktower. It is here that he spends the next ten years, being used as a political toy and spending his days teaching. He uses his lofty position and influence to help those who come to Clocktower from less fortunate places in life, as he once did, and Waver's talents as an instructor prove to be second to none. His students always come out being the best of the best, giving him a reputation as a talent production, with a loyal following that could change the very foundation of the institution if he led them to.

The irony is that by the time he has such influence to make the changes he so desperately wanted possible, he's too jaded by politics and abuse to want to bother.

It is by the designs of one Rin Tohsaka that Waver somehow becomes her custodian following the fifth Holy Grail War, a full ten years after he'd fought in the fourth. Waver becomes legally responsible for the girl, although he insists he won't give her any instruction in magecraft personally. Which is probably just as well, considering what a problem child she turns out to be; after destroying a student dormitory, getting banned from certain classes, and messing with the fabric of reality, Waver is forced to send his problem student back to Japan at least once during her schooling to clean her own messes.

Yes, Waver Velvet survives one of the deadliest and cruellest thermauturgical wars only to eventually end up in the position of "World's unluckiest babysitter."

( Personality ) :
Waver is most unusual for a magus, in that he lacks all of the traits that magi consider desirable and the rest of the world considers sociopathic. He does not come from a typical background; where most magi are born into influential families with several generations passing down their secrets and earning power through selective breeding, Waver is a lowly third-generation magus from a poor family line and no claims to fame to speak of. His parents were magi of little ability, and they were murdered when he was quite young, leaving Waver in the care of his bitter and neglectful grandmother. She was the start of the Velvet line, learning her magecraft as a mistress to powerful men in magus society by weaselling secrets out of them under the innocent guise of pillow talk. And she wasted no time in disowning Waver the moment he was old enough to attend Clocktower.

And so the young man who hoped to become a respectable magus one day had good, but unremarkable magical ability, above-average intelligence because his best and only friends were books, an undesirable interest in technology and the modern world, an unfortunate amount of morals, and the distinctly embarrassing distinction of being the grandson of a whore. He naively thought life was finally getting better. They naively thought if they cockblocked him enough, he would go away.

But Waver Velvet is nothing if not stubborn to the point of being an ass. It's a trait he has in common with toys intended for toddlers; he never breaks, no matter how many times he's slammed against the wall, table, or floor, or thrown down the stairs, or whacked in the face with a dick (<- actually happened.) He's also impossibly, irritatingly clever, as being left to his own devices while learning meant his entire development was outside the box, and he applies information in ways other magi would never even consider. Despite attending a school rife with sexism, racism, classism, and many other isms, wherein he was bullied by peers and staff alike and never actually taught much of anything, Waver was the top of his class academically. He had achieved the most annoying position in all of magus anything; he is the Hermione.

It's a trait Waver still carries with him into adulthood, although he's somehow honed it into a master-level skill that he abuses liberally. There are some who firmly believe Waver spends a quarter of his work day teaching, a tenth grading papers, and the rest is set aside specifically for annoying his fellow staff members. He weilds his pesky personal ethics and unorthidox methods like weapons that cannot land fatal wounds but can sting like thousands of annoying paper cuts, having just enough influence with his inherited title to make a nuisance of himself politically.

Another distinct trait that followed him into adulthood is his "Type-A Tsundere Manner." A childhood of neglect, abuse, and bullying turned Waver into a sarcastic, irritable, short-tempered snot. During the Fourth War, he was quick to whine, throw tantrums, declare his hate for anyone or anything, and be generally difficult to deal with. However, underneath all of that was a boy who just wanted to be accepted and acknowledged and was as starved for affection as a puppy. He is a compassionate and sweet person, honestly unable to turn a blind eye when others are hurting or in need. He has a whimsical sense of humour and is more of a shy dork who gets flustered easily than anything. Because Waver was not used to positive treatment, he didn't know how to handle the rare moments it was offered to him, choosing instead to believe he was being made fun of or used. The bratty personality was a defence mechanism designed to keep others out and minimize the amount of emotional hurt he would go through. Unfortunately for him, it only really seemed to attract the attention of girls for some silly reason.

Rider's influence on Waver's life, and being the first person to show affection for the boy, definitely left its mark. He had given Waver the resolve to push forward and not let others hold him back, given him the encouragement he needed to respect himself even if no one else would, and gave him invaluable, real confidence. While certainly not singing through the streets and making friends, the experience improved Waver's ability to connect with the world around him.

However, despite the good that Rider had done for the boy, a return to magus society and the consequences of being shoehorned into a role he was never properly prepared for jaded him. At some point, the Waver Velvet who wanted change so badly threw his hands up and decided it was wasn't worth it. He fights all the little battles instead, annoying the higher-ups where he can without drawing a large amount of attention to himself. The bratty outer shell has matured into Mean Brit territory instead; Waver is still sarcastic and short-tempered, but he's no longer prone to childish tantrums. This isn't to say that he's a terror toward his students as his own predecessor was to him; while Waver is stern and irritable, he's also one of the fairest professors in Clocktower. His wit, compassion, and willingness to go the extra mile so that every student becomes the best that they can be make him one of the most respected and well-liked professors in the Association's entire history. His students, low and high-born alike, would walk through fire for him. He gives each and every one all of the care and attention he never received, and as a result, not a single one of his students has graduated at a rank less than Grand; the highest achievement a graduating magus can receive. While Waver likes to pretend he only gives a damn about his own advancement, the respect and affection his students have for him tell a very different story.

That isn't to say that Waver is any less a dork, though. He takes his role as Rider's last retainer quite seriously, going so far as to wear his King's colors on a regular basis. He's also picked up quite the video game habit, and is still prone to hilarious outbursts and flailing when flustered or faced with other people's irritating affections. And if being ranked #1 Professor the female students would love to sleep with is any indication, he's still incredibly popular with the ladies for some silly reason. Truly a mystery!

( Strengths/Weaknesses ) :
One of Waver's greatest strengths is his clever mind. He's very knowledgeable, and he applies what he knows in ways that other people would not often consider, often performing complicated tasks in a very simple manner as a result. He makes an excellent teacher because of his nurturing nature and ability to help others grow to the best of their potential, as well as an excellent strategist. It helps that he has a knack for retaining knowledge and a really good memory; once Waver has read a book once, he doesn't need to read it again to remember what was written in it.

As a magus, Waver's talents are average; neither so good that they gain special recognition, nor so bad that anyone can say he sucks. There are a wide array of spells that can be performed in Nasuverse for all kinds of purposes, though Waver is much better with some than others. His elemental affinities are water and air, and his other strong suits involve working with spirits (summoning, divination, that sort of thing), and alchemy. He can also enhance or de-hance the five senses in himself or others and is passably decent at manipulating the minds of others-- he was able to make an old couple believe he was their grandson for over a week.

As far as weaknesses go, Waver's crippling insecurity makes him his own best cockblock. He has a difficult time connecting with other people emotionally, and because of that, he is downright socially awkward when he can't hide behind his grumpy professor persona. He's also painfully aware that he's not a better than average magus, and he will sometimes go to stupid lengths for the sake of improving himself-- a path that has more thorns for him than it would most other magi, because he's not willing to let go of his morality and sense of justice. His stubbornness is such a defining trait that it easily becomes a flaw in his character, because he simply will not give up once he puts his mind to something unless it's well and thoroughly beaten out of him.

Waver's most obvious weakness, the one that doesn't boil down to "mental issues", is his physical frailty. Though he's gotten better about it over the years, he doesn't take care of himself very well, as as a result is clumsy, prone to injury, and falls ill frequently.

( Other Important Facts ) :
Along with his title, Waver inherited Kayneth's Mystic Code, Volumen Hydragyrum. It is 10L of liquid mercury that can change shape easily, can become hard enough to withstand a hotel exploding all around it, and can become sharp enough to cut through titanium or diamond without hassle. It is able to detect prey in hunt mode and will automatically go into defense mode if its master is in danger. Waver has modified it to be semi-sentient; no more so than a pet, but enough to occasionally bug out of control and pretend it's a killer robot from the future. Most of the time, it does chores.

( Sample ) :
"This is absolutely stupid."

It wasn't the first time Waver had said so in the past five minutes, and it was likely not the last, either. From behind him, Volumen Hydragyrum nodded. Waver didn't see it, or hear it, but he knew it. Knowing things about what gets done literally behind your back is a talent he'd somehow picked up after becoming a professor. He found it about as irritating as every other aspect of being a professor. Which is to say, immensely.

But that was an irritation to ponder over another time. Currently, he had another irritation in front of him-- several, in fact. Brochures, all lined up neatly on the table with a cup of coffee and as-of-yet unopened pack of cigars (he was saving that for when he really needed it.) They all said more or less the same thing, and that thing was 'yes, hello, waking up in the middle of the ocean is absolutely normal, nothing to worry about here. Do feel free to tidy up someone else's derelict home and make it your own for the duration of your holiday, and please enjoy the stay.'

Clearly, Zelretch was at fault for this, and Waver was going to find some way to repay the irritation tenfold when --or, dare he think, if-- he ever made it back where he belonged. Twenty thousand something or other leagues under the sea was a horrid story, and he wanted no part in it, and he was already so bored out of his skull that he would have very much liked to scream just then. He resisted the urge, barely.

"This is absolutely stupid!", Waver said yet again, messing up his brochure pile with a sweep of his arm just to make a point. Feeling marginally better, he glared daggers at the cheerful, helpful, miserable little scraps of paper who'd never done a thing to personally wrong him and pulled out the one consolation prize thus far. The communicator looked almost like a child's toy, but Waver didn't mind so much. He could forgive it for having a version of Tetris that wasn't complete rubbish.

( Questions? Comments? Concerns? ) : I was unsure whether to list Fate/Zero or Fate/Stay Night as Waver's canon, considering his canon point, so I listed both.

( Character's Name ) : Angela Cross
( Character's Age ) : The R&C games aren't always clear on the amount of time which has passed, so I'm going to say about 22.
( Series ) : Ratchet and Clank
( Canon Point ) : Post ACiT, after escaping with Max Apogee.
( Playability ) : N/A

( History ) : You have no idea what you're involved in. Return to your own galaxy immediately, or this will happen to you! ...or, this, will happen to you..

( Personality ) :
When Angela is first introduced, she is under the guise of the Unknown Thief, a masked troublemaker who seems to hold a grudge against Megacorp. Angela isn’t the best at taking on the role of a villain, or even someone relatively menacing. Her attempts to intimidate others often lead to clumsy mistakes, such as when she accidentally breaks some Megacorp merchandise, followed with a quick apology. She’s a scientist, not a super-villain. But she’s also resourceful and determined, and when she’s set on something, she won’t let anything get in her way, not even her own accident-prone tendencies.

Angela is willing to bend the rules for what she believes is the greater good. She resorted to hiring Thugs-4-Less, in order to protect herself and the Protopet at one point, despite the fact it was a mercenary fleet. Still, her actions were for the sake of trying to save millions of potential customers across the galaxy, and as an enemy of the galaxy’s leading company for household products, her resources were few and far between. Angela didn’t have much of a choice, but she isn’t also the type of person to go out of her way and hurt innocent people, torturing Clank in an attempt to intimidate Ratchet aside. She’s trying to do the exact opposite. She wants to protect people from a potential disaster, not cut corners.

One thing Angela is good at is planning ahead. She’s very thorough, particularly about gathering the necessary materials for before the battle. Improvising in the moment, however…isn’t really her specialty. She’s easy to catch off guard, and lacks some common sense at times. One example would be when she snuck aboard the Thugs-4-Less fleet, after they were labeled her enemies, and broadcasted a message practically in very faces of the Thugs she was trying to hide from. To say the least, that didn’t end well, with her displaying her craftiness at attempting to impersonate a cat. Badly. While she retained her clumsiness as the Unknown Thief, it seems as if she loses some smugness and the dramatic flair she had going on once her true identity is revealed. Taking on the role of the Unknown Thief may have managed to connect with the same sort of idealism associated with the idolization of heroes. Her new role would give her a chance to help people in a more direct manner, and because while she was wearing that mask it was a different persona, she was more than capable of taking action and risks she hadn’t considered before her life working for Megacorp. It’s a bit like playing pretend, only this time, people were really in danger. Surprisingly, Angela doesn’t seem too bothered by the fact that she doesn’t work for Megacorp anymore, despite her anger with the company’s actions. Maybe she needed a change.

Being one of the last Lombaxes, and remembering a little of her life on Fastoon, Angela has chosen to consider Grelbin her homeworld. She probably spent most of her life there, and is quite fond of it now. Rather than live in the past, she decided to move on. Not that she isn’t going to complain when she meets another Lombax…when that Lombax isn’t her enemy, anyway. This decision to live in the present might be why she’s able to cheerfully call her days at Megacorp a “past life”. It’s not like a whole species was nearly wiped out, after all.

Angela’s pretty new to the action scene, but she isn’t lacking in confidence. She might even be a bit overconfident, all things considered. This doesn’t work for her all the time, but at least she isn’t one to be slowed down for long, and she doesn’t doubt herself or her plans. Angela is pretty independent, and she doesn’t always have the patience for questions when there are other matters at stake. She has her flaws, but she also always has an idea of what she wants too. Once she actually starts trusting people again, such as Ratchet and Clank, she can be surprisingly more laid-back, helpful, and fun.

( Strengths/Weaknesses ) :
Strengths:
Like most Lombaxes, Angela displays an aptitude for inventing technological marvels. She invented the Helix-o-morph, a gadget meant to revert the original Protopet into a more harmless state. She also had the creativity to solve the problem with all the other Protopets by broadcasting the Helix-o-Morph’s signal across the galaxy. Angela is a skilled geneticist, especially considering she was in charge of fixing the Protopet’s flaws before she was fired. Angela is pretty creative with finding resources, such as the time when she sent a balloon-a-gram to relay some information to Ratchet and Clank. She’s not a terrible fighter either, though she tends to flee from battle more often than not.

Weaknesses:

Perhaps one of Angela’s most prominent weaknesses is how clumsy she is. She trips over everything. Half the time, she can trip over nothing. Somehow she manages to keep most of her balance when riding a hoverboard, but she is still prone to falling off if distracted. She’s very accident prone in general. Angela is a pretty good example of someone who plans well, but doesn’t always implement her plans very smoothly. When things she didn’t predict occur, she tends to be caught off guard, and reacts a little impulsively. Luckily for her, she isn’t easily discouraged. Angela is also not the most trusting Lombax, at first anyway, but she was also being chased by Megacorp at the time.

( Other Important Facts ) :
There is no explanation to why her Unknown Thief disguise disappeared when the helmet was thrown off, so I will create an explanation as to why. Also, the disguise gives her a more male appearance, so when she’s wearing it, characters won’t be able to recognize the fact that she is, in fact, female. The only exception is those who know who she is. Another quirk of hers is that she is prone to vulgar language at times…though the game censors it out.

( Sample ) :
“Finally!”

Dusting off her gloves, Angela stood up and took a moment to admire her work. In front of her were the beginnings of the interior of a ship, made out of scavenged metal and whatever other materials she could find. Now, if she could just make it more stable, nevermind the fact that she hadn’t found a suitable energy source. It had been nearly a week since she first arrived at the Bubble, and no matter how many times, or how many people told her she wouldn’t escape, she was determined to prove them wrong. They didn’t understand that there was an entire galaxy at stake here. It wasn’t as if a world could actually trap someone, no matter what they may have believed. The proper resources were all that would be needed.

She wasn’t giving up like the rest of them.

Nearly finished with her break, she glanced over her shoulder to make sure no one was around. Today was just too hot to wear her mask and that stifling outfit, even if she was outside. She would have to be careful, but if someone approached, she could always act like a new arrival. That could even work in her favor. Who would ever associate her other role with herself?

She was mulling over this as she made her way back to the unfinished ship, forgetting that it wasn’t a good idea for her to walk and think without looking where she was going. A spare piece of metal later, and she landed flat on the ground, sprawled out. She quickly stood back up, as if hardly noticing it, grabbed a wrench, and went back to work. …Since when had she had a rubber ducky?

Immediately assuming that someone else was there, she began to look around.

“Whoever you are, you can stop hiding—ah?!”

Something hit her in the head. Scowling up at the sky, she was surprised to see not a flying attacker, but a flood of rubber duckies falling right for her and her ship. She only had time to bring her arms out in front of her face before all she saw was yellow, the squeaks of a thousand ducks drowning out any other sounds.

As soon as it was over, she began to dig her way out, shouting off a few choice words for only her ears as she slipped all the way down the small pile. What was she supposed to do with these? If anything, it only encouraged her more to find a way off this Bubble, and back where things made sense.

( Questions? Comments? Concerns? ) : Nope.

( Character's Name ) : Rin Tohsaka
( Character's Age ) : 6
( Series ) : Fate/Zero
( Canon Point ) : towards the end of Episode 10
( Playability ) : n/a
( History ) : TYPEMOON wiki article
( Personality ) :
Rin Tohsaka is something of a precocious child. At her young age, she desires to be the best possible heir to her family's legacy and puts forth an entirely ridiculous amount of effort into her attempts--sneaking off to study late into the night and attempting to use magic texts far beyond her skill. She gets into things she really shouldn't out of a desire to improve her skills and to impress her father. Her father is someone that she's grown up viewing as a man she can't fail no matter what. Though he was often distant out of necessity, but she always adored him regardless. Her family is always in the forefront of her mind, and the danger of losing any of them is very real to her. She was deeply hurt by the fact that her sister was given to be raised by the Matou family due to a custom in which a powerful magical family cannot have two heirs, but ultimately prefers not to speak of it at all.

She is an outgoing child with some interesting ideas about the world, most of them born from her unusual upbringing. The modern world is one that she is not entirely connected to, though she goes to school like any other child. This is because magi tend to operate in a different way from normal people, using magic versus technology to accomplish similar goals. More than that, she's gone so far to take it upon herself to search when a close friend was kidnapped and even ultimately took on the kidnapper at great risk to herself even if the whole incident was utterly terrifying to her. When faced with danger, she was able to find the bravery and resourcefulness to get by in the face of an absolutely horrifying situation. When the danger is done with, however, she reacts just like any other young child-- tears.

She isn't afraid to speak her mind, no matter what the topic might be. When a dear family friend comes to visit, her first outburst is regarding if he'd gotten a gift for her. Even so, her charm is something that helps her get by when her less attractive traits pop up. In school, she defends other girls from bullies, telling them that they should bully her so she can make it her business. She's popular both because of her high-class family and because she's known as a clever student that is extremely helpful to her peers. In class, she gets mobbed by her peers and happily helps them, though she's not above passing notes and slacking off a little for fun's sake.

( Strengths/Weaknesses ) :
+Rin has a great potential to become a powerful magus.
+Her academic education is above average for a child her age.
+Her family's magic revolves around 'flowing' and 'transferring' mana, primarily charging it into jewels so that spells can be used instantaneously. The TYPEMOON wiki can explain some of her potential. As of now, she can only do relatively minor spells.

-Her impetuous nature leads her into making terrible errors of judgement.
-At this point in her life, she's still mostly been sheltered.
-She has a tendency to take interest in things that are more than she can handle.
-She's six years old, which probably counts as a weakness on its own.

( Other Important Facts ) :
Ultimately, she's the archetypical tsundere in training. Good luck, Vatheon.

( Sample ) :
Something very strange was happening in the underwater city of Vatheon.

Rin could hardly believe it when she first saw. Still dressed in pajamas, she'd stepped out onto the terrace of her current home. And promptly got bonked on the head by a rubber duckie. The resultant squeak was either her or the toy or maybe both, but it hardly mattered when it turned quite suddenly into a squall of yellow rubber birds.

A Tohsaka shouldn't respond to this situation with a whoop of joyous laughter, but it was just much too funny to ignore. She could not focus on the important aspects of being a the heir to her family for just a few moments when she had something so whimsical happening. This kind of thing could never happen back home, after all.

"Ah! This is amazing!" she called out, scrambling with less dignity than she would have liked back into the safety of the house. "This is really the most amazing! Conjuring ducks like that! If they're using that kind of magecraft, I'll have to find a way to divert them if I can go anywhere..."

Though, really, it'd be a few minutes before she simply decided to get an umbrella instead. The brilliant scion of the Tohsaka family had her moments.

( Questions? Comments? Concerns? ) : I got a fever, and the only prescription is more Vatheon!
