[ Player Name ] : kosy
[ Personal DW ] : [personal profile] daiquiri
[ Age ] : TOO OLD -- 18
[ Timezone ] : EST.
[ Other Characters ] : everynobody!

[ Character's Name ] : Masamune Date (western order, he'll introduce himself as "Date Masamune")
[ Character's Age ] : 19
[ Series ] : Sengoku BASARA
[ Canon Point ] : Post-Season 2 of the anime.

[ History ] :
There is some information on Masamune here! To focus on anime canon, there are episode summaries here, but this contains a bunch of additional information. A summary for Masamune personally (since he's so special): most of his childhood backstory is alluded to and not explicitly stated in game/anime, but there are several things that can be safely assumed to be the same (mostly in regards to losing his eye: smallpox, valuable retainer Kojuro, etc). All of the background background you really need to know is that he's the young, charismatic leader of the Date army, Lord of Oshu, and 19 flavors of crazy for every year he's ever lived.

Masamune is introduced in the first seconds of the first season of the anime and shows up a Whole Lot™ after that, mostly spouting engrish and screaming at pretty much everyone. Both seasons of the anime focus on defeating whatever army feels like unifying Japan in the worst way possible: Oda Nobunaga and Toyotomi Hideyoshi, for the first and second season respectively. The first season is arguably slightly less defining for Masamune as a character compared to the second, as all that really happens there is... he meets his eternal rival, Sanada Yukimura, fights some fights, gets shot, wakes up, gets knocked out again so his retainer can run some errands (read: rescue Date's abducted soldiers) that he's too injured to do himself post-getting shot, and then gets better and runs along to beat up Oda Nobunaga with the power of himself. ... And everyone else too, I suppose.

The second season, however, is a bit more humbling for him as a person. Katakura Kojuro, his strategist, right-hand man, "right eye", and the one responsible for helping guard his back is kidnapped by strategist of the opposing army (Takenaka Hanbei)... which frankly causes Masamune to flip tables. There's a whole lot of information here revealed from his beginning days as a lord; he charged into a battle to unify Oshu hastily and caused a crapload of casualties, which later prompted a I'M GOING TO KILL MYSELF SO YOU EXPERIENCE LOSS moment from Kojuro and a FINE SHUT UP I WON'T LET ANYONE DIE DON'T KILL YOURSELF response from Masamune. Back to the present, and Masamune's running around a bit after Kojuro gets kidnapped, almost gets invaded by the Toyotomi, and comes out of that battle with a scratch on his back from Takenaka Hanbei. It's symbolic, yes.

Afterwards, Masamune decides to rush over to Osaka Castle and get back his Right Eye. This pretty much ends with him picking up Chosokabe Motochika, resident Pirate, getting blasted in the face by Matsunaga Hisahide, resident Jerk, surviving that, and then splitting up with Motochika once Kojuro comes back after freeing himself since Masamune's rescue attempt took forever. With that, Masamune ends it off with rushing to Odawara instead of Osaka, since turns out that's where Hideyoshi is. He smashes him up a bit and then kills him with a convenient power-up, because that's how he rolls. Good end? Good end.

[ Personality ] :

Masamune Date's a samurai who's made a pretty good name for himself in his time, both as a young general and a formidable foe, regardless of his age. Known throughout Feudal Japan as the "One-Eyed Dragon", most of his time on screen is spent spouting obscene English phrases in historical Japan ( don't ask us how that works either ) or making lightning fall out of the sky ( don't ask about that either ). If that's not hint enough that Masamune's one hell of a guy, well then. We don't know what is.

Needless to say, however, that even if you take away the Engrish and Lightning, you've still got a pretty striking man. Masamune's the young commander of the Date army, and he's pretty much an eccentric guy in a series full of eccentric guys. Of course, this isn't a bad thing--when it comes to leading, Masamune's got a pretty solid idea on how to do it, judging from the loyalty of his followers. It might have to do with the fact that he's essentially got the qualities of a pretty good leader, both outside and battlefield and inside the battlefield.

To start off, Masamune is more often than not seen taking things a little lightly. He acts cool. It's his style, and he likes to portray that whenever possible. Horse with motorcycle handlebars? Check. Eyepatch? Check. Six swords? Check. When it comes to keeping a cool-head, Masamune's good. Really good. This is mainly due to the fact that he knows he's good. His confidence, while motivational to his troops and slightly admirable to see, can be a bit of a double-edged sword. He's incredibly cocky, with a side of copious amounts of ambition--instead of caution, he'll welcome any big threat with an "oh you came to me so I can beat you up". When Masamune walks into a fight, he walks in fully expecting to win. You'd think you'd be a little scared by a mammoth showing up after you've finished fighting a crapload of armies, but no.

Masamune's got this, guys.

Despite being a bit of a loose cannon, it should be noted that Masamune's a Good Guy. No, really. He'll cooly play off his good tasks whenever possible, but you have to note that he has a whole gang that loves him greatly. While some other generals use fear to surpress their armies, Masamune uses loyalty--every single one of them are prepared to die for him, and he's prepared to fight to hell and back in return. When it comes to trust, once you're pegged as one of his own, you are one of his own. He's dependable and most of the time he trusts that people are the same way to him. He's got a very big "group mentality", where people who're taken in under his care are all worth the same, and no one is disposable.

While he's a bit (very) reckless and prideful when it comes to strategic retreats and giving up fights when he's down, Masamune is by no means unintelligent. He's perceptive and capable of handling tough situations on his own (though that's more of Kojuro, his right-hand man's thing), and more often than not he can see through people's true intentions. Granted, while he's got some capabilities in strategizing, he's by no means a genius in it. He'd much rather prefer to get things done through strength and his own skills, and his tendency to get impulsive when it comes to battle and personal attachments (read: his army). He'll understand situations and respond to them accordingly, but he never really takes or creates the most efficient path on his own. He trusts his army enough to pick up the rest! He just does the hard stuff that needs to be done.

Besides that, though, Masamune's kind of a pleasant guy. He never has malicious intentions--in fact, meet him and he'll be casual and friendly, if not a little weird (because really, he's a samurai spouting engrish phrases and dressed like... he's dressed), but never really mean. Despite his "cool" behaviour, he's got a fair bit of energy for the things he's interested in, and he shows it. Cooly.

And that, friends, is the One-Eyed Dragon.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :

If we had to focus on the most obvious strengths Masamune has, it would be his physical abilities. Of course, we're not just talking about his overcompensation with six swords--he's good at fighting with one just fine, mainly because he's just good at it. Personality-wise, what's most evident with him is overwhelming charisma and incredibly willpower; it's quite easy to like or respect him despite his slightly uncontrollable behaviour, and it's also quite easy to see that he does whatever he pleases and won't stop. What's less obvious, however, is his intelligence and observational skills--he's not an amazing strategist (that's Kojuro's job, and usually his physical strength fills in the gaps), but he is a competent one at least, and he's very good at analyzing both situations and people.

If there's one "negative" thing that Masamune knows he is (read: Kojuro won't stop complaining about it), it's reckless. He has a tendency to charge into situations merely because they're there and he has to, and despite his intelligence he can sometimes be quite poor at planning ahead. In general, Masamune can be extremely prideful sometimes, which both aids and hurts him sometimes. When he's scorned it's rather hard for him to forget it, and that can sometimes impede his judgement. He spent most of the game bent on revenge for one guy who beat him up once, and almost killed his ETERNAL RIVAL merely because he was in the way. In the anime, he showcases this lovely little trait by being extremely bitter about almost dying... for a long time. His stubbornness means he won't exactly turn tail and run from a fight even when it seems like he'll lose and possibly be executed on the spot, so. He can be kind of ridiculous sometimes.

[ Other Important Facts ] :

- His abilities often end up defying physics. Powers include summoning lightning from the sky, being able to fight in mid-air, blowing apart buildings, and manifesting a giant dragon magnet thing that he later stabs through and explodes for maximum damage. His entire existence defies physics, really.

- Masamune seasons his words with a crap load of Engrish phrases, mainly used for emphasizing whatever he feels like stating at the moment. Does anyone actually understand what he's saying? PROBABLY NOT. Does he actually care? Nope.

- He had smallpox as a child, and is either blind in his right eye or he just. Doesn't have one. The story goes that his retainer, Katakura Kojuro, gouged it out, but it's only been referenced and never explicitly stated.

[ Personality ] :
How best to succinctly describe Sherlock Holmes.

Wow, that's a toughie. Give me a second, here. Let me think.

Sherlock Holmes is, if nothing else, the world's foremost consulting detective (really, the only one, considering he created the title himself). He is incredibly clever and constantly aware. He can catch every little detail about a person, place and all his surroundings; very rarely does he miss a beat or note. Based on this extreme awareness, he's capable of deducing even as far as their profession, hobbies, birthplace or birth year without so much as a hint as to who they are. He has a terrible habit of noticing things about other people they don't exactly enjoy having thrown in their faces or widely known, and he has no problem asking about them or speaking aloud. He's handy in all types of forensics, as well as telling the differences between 100 different types of tobaccos, accents from all over the world, papers and inks, writing styles, handwriting samples, smells, chemicals, woods, metals, rocks, muds, fabrics and so on. He's good with lockpicks and tends to carry a series of picks around with him.

He is, without a doubt, a detective genius.

That being said, his genius comes with a serious confidence in the fact he's always right (as he quite frequently is) and that leads to cockiness and a snarky disposition. Holmes has no problems mentioning vital, private or sensitive information if he thinks it will get him somewhere or prove his ability to deduce more complicated details. He's sarcastic and quick-witted, and doesn't usually censor himself unless he sees a viable reason to. He's often seen as or acts somewhat childish, especially when it comes to being selfish. He is incredibly selfish, and somewhat egotistical, especially in matters of deduction or smarts. If he can one-up someone, he won't do it in anything but a spectacular fashion. He likes extrapolating, proving he's really worked out every little detail, and has a bad habit of being facetious.

He cares little for social norms and usually is only borderline polite, if ever at all. Not to say he can't mind his manners, because he can, and is sometimes guilted or forced into it by his dear Watson. He just chooses not to. He very clearly does not give a single shit when it comes to other people's opinions, save for a very few people.

Holmes has a series of common habits. He smokes a tobacco pipe, and has a variety of pipes and tobaccos based on mood, availability and type of tobacco; he plays violin, but likely taught himself, and can't seem to be able to decide if he should play well or just hack away at it for hours on end. Both of these things he constantly insists help him think, and he's very often heard ruining Beethoven or smoking from his vast assortment of pipes. He does cocaine, but only small doses unless he's incredibly bored or incredibly self-destructive. He smokes opium, but this seems to be a less-visited vice. He never drinks or he drinks a crapload. He likes to act coy, looking away very suddenly or being incredibly obvious. He doesn't sleep much, or sleeps a lot, likely due to insomnia. He doesn't eat often, or much, most likely due to his different vices. He talks out loud to himself, though it often also seems for the benefit of whoever is with him.

He's often bored. When Sherlock Holmes is bored, it isn't a trifling matter. Boredom leads to a stifling stagnation, an obsessive tendency to take as much cocaine as he can and quietly begin experimenting on everything and anything he can, for no reason at all. He doesn't tend to have disturbing or destructive experiments, but they do lean towards the odd or unrelated, like extracting adrenal fluids from sheep or trying to create a silencer. This is when his dependency on chemicals and self-destructive tendencies come forward the most. He hides away, trying desperately to find anything to do, or goes about trying to distract himself with ring fights or chemicals; without someone to balance out his almost bipolarity or something to focus on, it could be fatal.

And bipolar he is. Holmes' mind works so quickly that he's often two or three steps of the people around him. He jumps from conversation point to conversation point and back again flawlessly, seemingly lacing together a series of non-sequiters unless someone's paying attention. He goes from excitable to melancholy in a matter of seconds, getting worked up and over-dramatic at the drop of a hat and then turning at the drop of a dime to completely still and lost in his own world.

He is like a goddamn Olympic gold-medalist at getting himself hurt. His body is often loose and shambling, at ease with himself, but he tends to be clumsy, running into things, falling over himself or getting into trouble that ends in more than one nick or scrape. He tends to have bruises or cuts on his body, and he never seems to notice, often disregarding his wounds in a very serious way. If someone else is bothered by it, he won't take notice, preferring to move on from obvious facts and work at whatever the problem at hand is.

Holmes is a master of disguise. He can pull a new personality together in a matter of seconds, with skills formidable in accent-changing, stage makeup, basic fake facial pieces - the works. He can go from a Cockney street rogue to a German doctor easily, usually without missing a beat, and sometimes finds a great fun in dressing himself up just to pester the people around him or simply prove he can.

Many people assume him to be unfeeling or disinterested in emotion, and the latter is more true than the former, certainly. He feels emotion but prefers to bury it, focusing his mind on logics and problems instead of dramatics and emotions. This usually tends to manifest in selfish behaviour or disinterested replies; he has, for example, an extreme disdain in Watson's marriage, fueled by a selfishness and the feeling of abandonment. Why should a woman take his best friend away? It doesn't seem fair. He can be petty, as well. If someone deserves what's coming to them, he will by god make sure they get it in spades, such as breaking the ribs and dislocating the jaw of someone who's spat at the back of his head. He isn't sociopathic, by any means, but he certainly refuses to take stock in emotion, and chooses to operate within the boundaries of the logical mind, instead.

Holmes does have a special brand of misogyny about him, born of a Victorian attitude and life. He doesn't dislike women but he certainly has a kind of disdain for them. He's not outright about it, but it tends to colour his judgments at times.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
+extreme and constant awareness of everything around him
+amazing ability to deduce almost anything based on tiny details he notices
+ability to tell over 100 common kinds and blends of tobacco
+forensic genius
+extremely intelligent and wickedly clever
+knows at least four languages

-gets bored extremely easily
-superdickery, due to confidence and not giving a shit about others' opinions
-gets ridiculously anti-social, to almost a self-destructive level
-actually just really, really self-destructive all the time.
-tends to say things without much caring about the emotional reactions of others
-serious addictive tendencies, especially for alcohol, tobacco, opium and cocaine
-cocaiiiiiiiiiiine

[ Other Important Facts ] :
-that pesky tattoo should be placed right in the center of his lower back. LMAO...
-he is like a goddamn Olympic gold-medalist at getting himself hurt.

[ History ] : [ information on the anime here! ]
[ episode list here! ]

[ Personality ] :

In contrast to the flashiness of his lord, Date Masamune, Kojuro is almost boring in comparison. However, there’s just something about a show depicting extreme shonen fighting samurai that manages to make any character quirky, and Kojuro is no exception.

Kojuro, as a character, spends most of his appearance in the anime acting as the level-headed foil to Date Masamune. It’s easy to see that as a character, he is calm and collected. Experienced is the word that anyone can conjure when they see the way he carries himself. He is the older brother figure, the stern but loyal foil in the background that keeps the other characters on-screen (namely Date Masamune) from getting too carried away. He rebukes, explains and guides, and he takes his duties as Date Masamune’s ‘right eye’ very, very seriously.

He is respectful. That’s another thing that’s entirely consistent in his character—no matter who he addresses, what their rank is and what his relation to them is, he always addresses others with respect. In fact, he probably addresses those around him with more respect than he addresses his own lord with—possibly because he’s quicker to rebuke his lord when he strays than he is in rebuking others. However, he is a character who observes those around him carefully, and maintains a strong sense of self-discipline. You don’t see him explode often in the series, which is actually kind of remarkable in comparison to the constant explosions of manly fervor that acts as the series’ driving force.

Kojuro is also highly honorable. He maintains this honor throughout the series, showcased by the way he ended up running into enemy headquarters to save the members of Oshu. He even maintains this honor during his kidnapping. In a way, he is defined by his honor, and to soil it is worse than death. He showcases this particular line of thinking after pointing his sword at his master—and in the aftermath, apologizing and preparing himself for punishment over what he considered to be an inappropriate action. However, this also shows another part of his personality—despite being a supposedly stickler for the rules, he is willing to go against set expectations in order to do what he thinks is right. And afterwards, he fully accepts the consequences of his actions.

He has a strong sense of justice and chivalry, but while he is powerful, he is also humble. It’s often said that he is a stronger character than Date Masamune, but even so, he follows the younger man loyally. In this, he is highly loyal to those that he respects. Even while he’s a powerful figure, he is still benevolent—he treats his subordinates well, and is not arrogant about his abilities.

In conclusion, Kojuro act as the grounded, realistic, possibly the only sane force in an army led by an Engrish-speaking samurai who bears six swords and rides a horse with handlebars.

His life, yep.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :

Kojuro’s strengths lie in the fact that he is a realistic, pragmatic and grounded individual. He is able to face adversity without losing his cool, and is able to carefully look over both sides of a situation before acting. This is his strength, and he uses it to support Date Masamune, who, in contrast, is a character with rasher sensibilities. Kojuro is also not easily insulted, and tends to bear things with benevolence. In short, his steadiness and the solid presence he provides to others is his biggest strength. He’ll fight for you to the end.

On the other hand, you can say that Date Masamune is his biggest weakness. While he is a level-headed character, there are times that the younger man is able to goad him into acting rashly, kicking away his scruples. This is showcased in the way he ran into enemy territory to save the men of Oshu, despite having been against it from the very beginning. This is possibly why he follows Masamune in the first place, however—the younger man has a way of even spurring him into action. However, if any harm is to come to Date Masamune, Kojuro would surely lose his cool.

Also, as a character, he finds it hard to break out of his mold of strictness and stability, unwilling to take unnecessary risks. This can be considered a character flaw in that he is slow to take initiative.

[ Other Important Facts ] :
He wields two swords! And while he can’t call lightning from the sky, he’s still pretty badass in his own right.

Insult Date Masamune and die. >(

[ Sample ] :

Preparing for battle is something that Katakura Kojuro is very much used to. It’s almost like a daily thing, really. You wake up in the morning, you stretch, you do your toiletries, and then you grab your swords and run outside and hope to the high heavens that Masamune hadn’t done the reckless thing and wasn’t currently taking on the enemy’s army of five hundred with nothing but six swords and a horse with handlebars. It’s times like those that Kojuro both appreciated and bemoaned the younger man’s capabilities. It’s doubly bad, because his lord’s recklessness has a tendency to make him lose his cool, too, and it’s not as though the army didn’t already run on recknlessness.

In this case, it isn’t an army of five hundred. It’s an army of one. Which makes it a bit better, in some ways, and in others—far, far worse. In the distance, he can see one large tentacle flailing about, and knows that Masamune must either already be swinging his swords around or was on his way. It’s dangerous, he thinks, even as he makes his way through the winding streets with posthaste, because Masamune never thinks about the backup. Never thinks about just what the people behind him are doing. Never thinks about anything beyond how to engage the enemy in the most dramatic fashion possible—leaving those behind him in the dust to either follow or bow their heads in shame.

He has to stop his train of thought, here, for he sees civilians that need to be escorted to a shelter. And so he stops his running to do so, offering his arm. It isn’t until he’s finished with his duty here that he picks up the pace again, watching carefully for any signs of raining debris, or, gods forbid, the breaking of the dome. No, Masamune doesn’t think about any of that sort of thing. If Masamune sees people before him that needs helping, then he will help. But if he finds the enemy first, then he will engage that first. In a way, that sort of thinking is almost black-and-white.

Then again, that’s what Kojuro’s here for, isn’t it? He snorts to himself a little when he sees Masamune’s outline on the roof of a building, goading the monster with the point of one of his swords. In a way, it’s troublesome, but in a way, it’s enough to even spur him into action. He’ll think about the supply depots, the army, the back-up, the details.

All Masamune has to do is to point his sword and lead.

He can see the future, there, and it’s something bright. Taking up his own sword, he climbs up to join his lord, nodding to response to his lord’s nod. Lowering his center of gravity in preparation for the up-coming battle. Even if it’s something like this, it’s not so bad.

… though he really wishes that Masamune would stop goading enemies unnecessarily. That sea-monster really doesn’t look happy.

[ Character's Name ] : Walter Delques
[ Character's Age ] : 17 years old
[ Series ] : Tales of Legendia
[ Canon Point ] : Post-Chapter 7

[ History ] : Why? Why did she choose you?

[ Personality ] : If nothing else, Walter is driven. It doesn't take a genius to figure out he doesn't have much of a personal life outside of his duties, because to Walter, they're the one and the same. He's known his life's purpose to be the protection of the Merines, and under normal circumstances, he would have been the leader of the Merines' personal guards. Except the circumstances were far from normal, so he ended up taking on a lot alone and that didn't deter him. Insead, it strengthened his resolve to the point his accepted mindset is that if it's for the Merines, he would give his life without a moment's hesitation.

It's precisely because of the above and generations of rampant racism that he has an attitude. Walter is a racist. To make matters worse, his overprotectiveness of the Merines doesn't help him in the socializing department. He's overtly rude and withdrawn, seldom making conversation with the Orerines. The lot of them are rotten to the core, and nothing can change his stubborn opinion of this. The Orerines have been the cause of the Ferines' suffering for many generations, which is grounds enough for Walter to cast them in a permanently unfavorable light. He doesn't thank Senel and company even once for all the times they've helped him, and that makes him the token jerk of the party's acquaintances.

Not to mention he has jealous issues up the wazoo. If anything, they put a damper on any potential he might have in being more than remotely civil with the Orerines, all because Senel is the bane of his existence for having usurped his position as the one the Merines should look to for protection. Walter's life was stolen, snatched from his hands years ago when he'd been training hard to fulfill the duties that were somehow no longer his. And for this, he hates Senel and is more prone to being emotional when confronted -- that is, he visibly fumes, but he doesn't raise his voice much. Because he generalizes, his innate dislike of anyone other than the Ferines intensifies.

Walter is not a very expressive person outside of his perpetual disdain of the Orerines, and even this is kept down by a quiet, intense exterior. That isn't to say he's not emotional. He doesn't talk much, but he will get his opinions across when he deems them necessary. He's terse, but he's also infuriatingly cryptic regarding, say, his wounded feelings and confusion from Shirley choosing Senel over him. He really can't see beyond the whys, that being the reason he lives and dies thinking that, in the end, it's all Senel's fault, and not his own whatsoever.

He's good about putting his duties before his personal motives and desires, though they mix pretty well to begin with. Either way, Walter has displayed the ability to put aside his feelings for the greater good in the war, where the Ferines had allied with Rexalia against Vaclav to ultimately retrieve Shirley. For this short period of time, Walter cooperated with the Orerines. Never mind that he lures Senel into a trap later to get rid of him for what Walter believes is the Merines' good. He managed to work in a team.

That said, his stubbornness is another distinct trait of this. It also gets him into trouble a lot. Walter is so caught up with taking on his role that he repeatedly puts himself in dangerous situations, and at one point even passes out in front of Shirley and Fenimore. It's this same unwillingness to let things be and back out that gets him killed when he overexerts himself. But it's also one of the primary fuels for his drive, and he makes a darn good use of it as far as it involves a kind of boldness and self-sacrifice he believes the ideal bodyguard should have. He's reckless; single-minded.

Death is only a part of the job description if it means keeping the Merines safe, out of the Orerines' clutches.

But Walter is not without his positive traits. In fact, his workaholic tendencies are quite beneficial to the Ferines, and he shares his kind moments with them, stiff as he may be. Although he brushes Fenimore off at first when she lacks the skills to fix the automata, he quickly suggests that she bring the mechanics food. While he isn't an expert with "nice" interactions by any means, the point is that he makes the effort when his people are concerned.

Walter is a leader, or at least someone who has it in him to take a hold of the reins when necessary. Although he can easily be carried away when his anger is at its peak, Walter listens to his "subordinates" and takes necessary precautions, like stationing troops around the site of the Rite of Accession, which allows his automata to catch up to Senel's party when they escape.

All in all, he led a methodical and serious lifestyle that bled even into his fighting, if his way of shouting words and numbers -- counting while throwing kicks and punches -- in Relares were any indication of this.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
  • Loyal. Let his dedication to the Ferines and Merines never be challenged, because it's nigh impossible to wrong. So strong is his sense of self-sacrifice that he always think of the Merines first and forgoes his own well-being every single time.
  • Focused. Walter never strays from his duties, and his concentration is evident even in his spell casting, where it takes more than a few blows to interrupt his incantation. But this can also be a bad thing when taken over the top, manifesting as a negative form of stubbornness outlined below.
  • Willful. His willpower is something to be in awe of, considering he pushes himself to death without a second thought and makes effective use of the Whisper Crystal, an object that requires a user of great will to control the automata.

  • Cocky. Despite the seeming inferiority complex around Senel, Walter is confident in his abilities and jumps into the Fallen Lands after Senel and company. He explicitly claims that he is powerful following Shirley's Rite of Accession, when he receives a tremendous boost in power.
  • Stubborn. It's only after he pursues them to the Fallen Lands that he realizes his abilities are severely watered down, yet Shirley has to forcefully eject him. Moses nails it by saying Walter doesn't know when to quit. If anything, he tends to be irrational when his anger gets the better of him.
  • Attitude. He doesn't have much going for him in the way of personal relationships, and this has no doubt had an indirect effect on him. At the very least, it impairs him from getting along with the Orerines, and even the manner in which he treats Shirley can be questionable at times, because his train of thought is completely dependent on what's meant to be good for the Ferines.
[ Other Important Facts ] : Walter is one of the Ferines, people of the water who are different from the conventional human in that they can breathe underwater while their hair glows blue. He can fly and, to some level, communicate, using his teriques (an extension of his soul). The teriques may also be summoned to fight alongside the user. To conceal his heritage, Walter sometimes goes into public in Orerines wear.

Delques is his true name, a secondary name in Relares bestowed onto a Ferines that only others of his or her kind know. "Delques" means "black wings," referring to Walter's black teriques. It's not his last name, though it's generally treated as one in official material.

As a crystal eren (magic user), Walter's fingernails glow when he casts spells. Despite the Ferines' affinity to the sea element, which is the game's equivalent to Light, he can cast a variety of elemental spells. He's also well-versed in hand-to-hand combat.

Walter is also the keeper of the Whisper Crystal, a relic that allows him to control the automata (fighting machines) through his willpower. While he carries the crystal around with him, it's pretty much useless without any automata to order.

[ Sample ] : Under normal circumstances, he would have liked the principle idea behind Vatheon. How it functions and what purpose it serves are, in a way, perfectly suited for the Ferines. The Ferines are more than willing to give their lives for a safe haven from the Orerines. If Nerifes had perhaps done the same as Lamufao, things might have been different.

But he still prefers their original plan. He's not going to make excuses for himself. Nerifes is not wrong; Nerifes' will is absolute.

To that end, and with the sheer population of Orerines-type walking the streets, Walter can't stand Vatheon. It's an underwater cage, and the sea is the last territory they should ever, ever dare to have tread upon.

He balls his hands into fists, ducking into an alley in the lower district to avoid migrating crowds. Just like Werites Beacon, it's a bustling city in its own right. One he isn't interested in mingling with, despite the forced interactions by the outrageous curses that take place every so often.

Powers of Lamufao be damned, he isn't going to stay here once he can help it.

(He isn't dead.)

As long as he breathes, he will be the Merines' guardian. Even Lamufao can't take that away.

[ History ] :
Wiki Link!

[ Personality ] :
To understand who Luke is now, you have to understand who he was to begin with. The son of a Duke, he grew up very, very sheltered. He was locked away in his manor with no clue as to how the world outside worked. He was ignorant to the, and as he was of a high class, he was raised very well. As a result, he became a spoiled brat. Rude, reckless, brash and selfish, Luke thought only of himself and his needs. He didn’t realize, or think about how his actions affected others. He was confident, head-strong, hot-headed, and hated when people didn’t talk to him about their plans before deciding on what to do in certain situations. Basically? He was kind of an asshole, and one with no intention of changing that. He was a spoiled brat, who expected people to explain things and cater to his needs. He definitely wasn’t the kind of guy you would expect to save the world.

Another big part of who Luke was—and to an extent who he is now—was his hero-worship of Van. Van taught him everything he knows about sword fighting, and he is the one Luke looked up to the most. From Luke’s point of view, Van was the only one to acknowledge and encourage him. He hated when people dissed him, stood up for him constantly, and would listen to Van before anyone else. This idolization is what leads to the disaster at Akzeriuth, were Luke learned something that lead to him changing drastically—He discovers he’s a replica. And not just that, but he was just Van’s pawn all along.

After Akzeriuth, Luke’s personality practically does a 180. Where he was once hot-headed and confident, he is now uncertain and severely down on himself. Luke no longer sees himself in the way he had before Akzeriuth. Now, instead of feeling superior, he thinks himself only a replica, and as such he believes he has little value compared to others—Especially Asch. After all, Asch is the one who should be living in the manor, not him. He stole that life from Asch. This train of thought is the bane of Luke’s existence, because he dwells on being a replica—and as such, being inferior to the original—a lot. However, Luke isn’t just down on himself constantly. He has a strong desire to atone for his mistakes, and for what he did at Akzeriuth. He’s willing to do anything to make up for it, and this desire is the driving force behind most of his actions. He does what he can, and what he feels he has to—like nearly giving his life to neutralize the miasma. He felt that was his burden to bear, not just to save the world, but to make sure that Asch would survive to free Lorelei.

There are some things that remain the same from the beginning of the game to where I will be taking him. For one, Luke was always a good kid. Sure, he was an asshole, but he did have some good in him—goodness that Ion saw. It was a rare occurrence, but he would worry about the Fon Master and others. He just wasn’t very good at expressing these feelings, and if his kindness was ever pointed out he would quickly go back to his bratty nature. Now, his kindness is much more apparent. He helps people much more willingly than before, and openly worries about others. He thinks about others much more than himself, and does everything he can to help. Another thing that stays the same is his bratty nature. While for the most part it’s non-existent, he will occasionally snap. Usually this is only when he’s talking to Meiu, but there are times he’ll make snide remarks or act in a way similar to his old self. These moments are rare, however, and they don’t last long.

Luke does value his own life. This is something he realized recently, when faced with his own death. He doesn’t want to die, or throw his life away like Asch seems to think he’s doing. The thought terrifies him. However, Luke understands that sacrifice has to be made to save the world. In the case of the Tower of Rem, he sees his death as the only way things will turn out alright. He’ll sacrifice himself to get rid of the Miasma so that Asch—the original, who is clearly more qualified—can free Lorelei. Yet even though he believes it to be the right choice, he still wants to live. Not for others, but for himself.

All in all, Luke is a good kid who is honestly trying to change himself, and do what he can to make up for his mistakes.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :

+ Luke is a proficient sword fighter, with a plethora of sword skills up his sleeve

+ He has a good heart, and does what he can for others

+ He’s someone who is able to realize his mistakes and work towards trying to atone for them.

+Luke values human life. He would rather avoid killing people if he can help it.

- While Luke understands that in conflict death is unavoidable, killing another weighs heavily on his conscious. It doesn’t affect him nearly as bad as it did at the start of the game, it still affects him negatively.

- He is constantly down on himself.

- While he’s learned a lot over the course of the game, he’s still relatively ignorant when it comes to the world, and he still has a lot to learn. He’s only been alive 7 years, after all.

[ Sample ] :

[ I don’t want to die-- Is his last thought, until he suddenly finds himself waking, drenched and cold. It took a minute to realize he was somewhere he didn’t recognize. Was he…dead? It was the only thing that made much sense. Though…if he was dead, then where were all the replicas? Did he fail?

He stares down at his hands, trying not to shake. No! He couldn’t have failed! Not when everyone was counting on him. If he couldn’t do that one, simple thing—He shivers again, from being damp instead of shock. He forces himself to focus on this instead. Being cold and wet, he should go find something dry.

He could figure everything else out later. So looking around the bustling square, he hurries over to the nearest person. ]

Hey—Excuse me! Do you know where I can find some dry clothes? Or a towel? [ He realizes then that he doesn’t have an Gald on him. What should he do? He could pay the guy back, but…] I don’t have any money on me, but I’ll pay you back…I know a promise probably won’t mean much…but I swear I will! Just give me a chance; I’ll work to pay it back somehow.

[ Character's Name ] : Rinoa Heartilly
[ Character's Age ] : 17
[ Series ] : Final Fantasy VIII
[ Canon Point ] : End of disc 2, when she falls into a coma after Ultimecia possesses her in Galbadia Garden
[ History ] : http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Rinoa_Heartilly
[ Personality ] : Rinoa is charming. It’s a simple statement, but it’s the first thing you notice about her if you talk to her. Charm is something rather difficult to describe, but Rinoa’s charm likely lies partly in her eyes and her smile. Part of it also has to do with her kind but straightforward honesty. It’s hard to say no to her or to even stay mad at her for long. Squall’s interactions with her are the most obvious examples. His first awkward, teenage moment we see in the game is when he meets her. With unabashed confidence Rinoa walks up to him and manages to convince him – he who hardly acknowledged Zell or Selphie or showed any interest in doing anything with other human beings outside what was necessary – to dance with her. Granted, she partly drags him across the ballroom floor, but Squall’s plenty stronger than her. Needless to say, it was more than her persistence that got him out there. After all, Quistis had tried for years to get through to him and it didn’t work.

Once her charm draws you in and gets you talking, you’ll find a very warm and friendly person. If you meet her for the first time (say, on a train en route to kidnapping a certain dictator) she’ll greet you warmly with a hand shake. She’s also pretty excitable and likes to gesture a lot with her hands and hop up and down and… yeah, you get the picture. She practically tackled Squall when he came to her and told her he was SeeD coming to help her faction. It’s easy to make her smile and hard to get her down. It would take something pretty extreme, like realizing you’re entering a war with a sorceress and seeing the havoc she’s wrought on a Garden, to get her serious and worried.

Rinoa’s also very passionate. She flings herself headfirst into something she believes in and she’ll devote herself to it. Her time with the Forest Owls shows just how seriously she takes Timber resistance against the Galbadian government. Even though it’s the only active faction, she still fights with them because she believes what Galbadia has done and continues to do to Timber is wrong, and she can’t stand by and let that happen.

With that said, though, she can be a bit naïve. Although she’s not blind to the suffering of others around her, even given her lavish upbringing as a Galbadian General’s daughter, she’s not a very good planner. She sees things in a very simple way, sometimes dangerously so. She’ll plop down on the floor with the Owls to hatch out a plan on the fly, thinking it’ll be good enough. She’ll walk up to a powerful sorceress and attempt to somehow put a magic-repressing bracelet on her without fully thinking it through or the dangers behind doing that. Fortunately later on she seems to leave the planning up to the more tactical thinkers, like Squall and the other SeeDs.

Although she helps lead a resistance faction, Rinoa is at times very childish and rebellious. Considering her background, it’s not entirely surprising. Rinoa has been at odds with her father for years, although it’s never fully explained why. Since he’s a Galbadian General and she’s in a resistance faction against the Galbadian army, it definitely looks like she’s just a part of the faction because of her ongoing quarrel with him. Quistis even points out to her in Deling City during the assassination mission that the mission isn’t a “father-daughter quarrel” or a game. While Rinoa stubbornly denies the latter, she doesn’t comment about the quarrel part. Is it possible that part of her motivation is fueled by this fight? It’s possible and probable. Between that and her rather childish nature (she sticks her tongue out at people, she sits on the floor and sulks when she’s left alone in her father’s mansion, and she calls Squall a “meanie”, of all things), Rinoa does come across as a spoiled, rebelling child. It takes nearly getting killed, being thrown in a political prison and breaking her friends out of it, getting involved in a war, watching a school nearly get blown up, seeing another school that wasn’t so lucky, fighting her ex and the moderately crazy sorceress he’s allied with, and becoming a sorceress herself before she grows up and fully realizes that what she’s done and accomplished is very small and next to nothing compared to the war that has started. Being around SeeD and the ever logical Squall probably also helped her mature.

If Rinoa has a fear of anything, it’s of being alone. Whether she’s in the company of her dog, Angelo, or her friends, Rinoa can rarely stand being by herself. It really manifests when it comes to fighting in battles alone. Even to save her own life, Rinoa can’t even stand to fight if she’s alone. It’s first seen when the Iguions attack her during the Deling City Parade. If Irvine and Squall hadn’t shown up to help her, she would have been killed most likely. She admits to it again later at Trabia Garden, revealing how afraid she is of not being able to keep up with the others and of people getting killed. It’s a moment of deep insight for her; she realizes just how different she is from the others and how different their upbringing was from hers. It imposed a sort of separation between them and she hated that. It scared her to have to fight more, to have to struggle to keep up on her own. Unsurprisingly, the moment Squall told her he wished they didn’t have to fight anymore, she instantly cheered and was reassured, simply because she wasn’t the only one; she wasn’t alone. Her friends help support her and through them, especially after the talk in Trabia Garden, help give her the courage to fight. When she becomes a sorceress, she admits to Squall on the Ragnarok that she’s terrified of people avoiding her and being afraid of her. She gives herself over to Esthar to avoid that and to protect the world. When Squall and his companions come charging in after her, it’s then she learns she’s never alone, even when she’s physically by herself.

Then there is her stubbornness. A trait that’s both annoying and admirable, Rinoa can out-stubborn just about anyone in her world, including Squall. Usually this goes hand in hand with her passionate nature, but she does apply to other aspects of her life – and relationships. It’s that persistence of hers that allowed her to push Squall’s boundaries, such as getting him to open up a little the night of the concert and getting him to finally articulate his thoughts at Timber and en route to Galbadia Garden. Even when he pushed her away, she simply pushed back until he cracked or at least said something to her. It might be considered being too pushy or intrusive, but considering she’s made more progress in getting him to open up and understanding him, it speaks volumes of its effectiveness.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
Strengths:
- Passionate: If you have a cause and she supports it, you’ve got an indomitable ally.
- Stubborn: This could be considered both a strength and weakness. As a strength, it’s helped her pursue her goals (such as liberating Timber and getting away from the confines of her father’s home), and it’s been a tremendous help in understanding Squall and getting him to open up.
- Caring: If you’re stuck inside a political prison, she will bite, scratch, and kick her way in to get you out. Ask Irvine.
- Good with animals: Her partner in combat is a highly intelligent dog whom she trained herself.
- Skilled fighter: Although she wasn’t professionally trained, the fact that she can keep up with four SeeDs and a sniper who pretty much had the same kind of training says something.
- Thinking on the fly: While her plans aren’t exactly good, if not borderline dangerous, she can come up with ideas very quickly.

Weaknesses:
- Fear of being alone: Rinoa hates being alone, whether it’s in battle or outside of it. It can cripple her, leaving her paralyzed and unable to even fight for her own life.
- Naive: although she’s come to understand the harsher side of life living with the Owls, Rinoa has grown up for the most part in luxury and sheltered. It makes her a bit oblivious and sometimes unaware of the reality of things when all is not going her way.
- Inexperienced: Of the practical kind. Growing up wealthy, Rinoa’s likely never worked a real job outside her resistance faction, and unfortunately the skill sets learned there are rarely applicable to everyday life.
- Baaaad painter: She cannot paint to save her life. Her horrible paint application of the mini model of the President’s train car will forever haunt her.
- Recklessness: She tends to charge into situations headfirst sometimes. She’s gotten a little better about this, thanks to hanging out with SeeD, but she still likes to dive into things without thinking them through.

[ Other Important Facts ] : Don’t piss her off too much. She bites and scratches. She also isn't aware that she's a sorceress yet. I pulled her pretty much immediately after she collapses, so she hasn't had time to think over and realize what's happened to her. She wouldn't even be aware that she's fallen into a coma.

[ Sample ] : Rinoa is none too happy when she wakes up, noticing immediately that she is soaking wet and slightly disoriented. With a set scowl (she likes to think it would look like Squall’s, but she’s likely kidding herself), she climbs to her feet, taking note of the mopping wet clothes and her stringy hair. “Someone is going to pay for this,” she mutters as she shoves it back out of her face. Her initial thought is that this is a lovely prank, and the likely culprits that come to mind are Zell and Selphie. “What did they do, dump a-”

Something unsettles her, enough to make her look up and take note of her surroundings. She nearly balks at the underwater structure she finds herself in. Her boots make that irritating wet, squishy sound soaked shoes make as her heels pound against the ground, running towards what looks like the edge of the structure. Panic bubbles up her throat, and she tries hard not to shake from the cold and fear. This was no prank gone wrong.

She stops to catch her breath, leaning against a random deserted building. Where is everyone? She clutches her necklace out of nervous habit, not wanting to let the fear consume her. As she looks down, fidgeting with her rings, it’s then that she sees the mark, printed right on the top of her hand.

Pretty, she thinks, but then, that’s the least of her concerns. I don’t remember getting this. She rubs at it, hoping it’ll wipe off, but to no avail. Her mood deteriorates – and her panic rises – as she realizes that she has either, 1) been kidnapped or, 2) had been severely intoxicated and had the wildest night ever. As much as she doesn’t like it, she’s banking on the former.

“Squall?” she calls out. “Squall? Zell? Selphie? Irvine? Quistis?” She rattles off her friends’ names, hoping to hear a response from one of them, any of them.

She goes to continue running when something hits the top of her back. She yelps and spins and nearly trips over her own feet as her eyes search for whoever or whatever did that. Imagine her surprise when she finds the culprit laying on the ground in all its rubbery, yellow glory. Rinoa pokes the rubber duck with her foot, her brow furrowed.

Then another one falls and hits her shoulder. She winces as she grabs the offended joint, her gaze cast skyward in utter confusion. “Why is someone dumping…”

Oh dear Hyne.

Just as the downpour starts, she dives under a covered porch, her arms over her head as the sound of rubber ducks smacking the pavement fills the air. Her expression is a cross between confused and horrified as she watches the duckies violently kiss the ground, bouncing off the sidewalks and streets before landing in random spots. One such duck bounces its way towards Rinoa. Cautious, she picks it up and stares at it, it’s wide beady eyes staring back at her own.

“This is a dream,” she tells herself. There’s no other explanation for this insanity. It’s meteorologically impossible for it to rain ducks, at least in her world. But now that she’s thinking about it, she’s never heard of an underwater city in her world, either.

It has to be a weird dream. What else can it be?

The last thing she remembers thinking was Squall… I’m scared…

She is now, but what’s on her mind more is something along the lines of, Squall… I’m… really confused.

[ History ] :
Future Trunks @ DBZ Wiki

[ Personality ] :
Overall, Trunks is a rather polite and serious young man--more so than one would expect from his age and indeed far more so than his counterpart from the normal timeline. Trunks grew up in a world of desperation and fear, and it shows--he's always looking over his shoulder, always cautious, always guarded, always trying to find a way to become stronger. He has a deep-seated need to protect those who cannot protect themselves, especially children. By his nature, he's kind and would prefer peace to constant fighting, but knows that his power obligates him to defend others. He's intelligent as well, though he can be hotheaded and impulsive, and even cocky when he thinks he has the advantage. Above all, he is loyal and a determined fighter, unwilling to give up and admit defeat even when he has been sorely beaten. He inherited more than a little of his father's pride and honor, even if he usually doesn't let it control him.

Growing up as he did had a lot to do with the way he's turned out as a young man. Aside from his nature, Trunks is also prone to reflection and can sometimes be caught in a flashback, when triggered. He acts desperately around the androids, and these moments are probably his most impulsive: such as firing ki blasts at close range without warning, jumping into a fight that everyone else had agreed to make one-on-one, threatening a damaged Android 16--who had offered to help fight Cell, etc. In contrast, when he faced Frieza, a tyrant responsible for the death of billions of people, he was calm, even cocky...because he knew he was stronger. The fact that he's from the future gives him some knowledge of the way things should play out, and he tends to panic when things go 'wrong'. He doesn't like being surprised--and he definitely doesn't like being snuck up on, though good luck managing that.

Due to his childhood and his training, Trunks is a combat pragmatist who always--or almost always--gives everything he's got in a fight. The only time that was an exception was when he delayed powering up to fight Perfect Cell to spare Vegeta's pride, a perfect example of his respect for his father and desire for Vegeta's acceptance and pride. Unlike the other Earth fighters, Trunks usually is mostly silent while fighting. He doesn't ever call his attacks like the others do, for instance, and he's not really above fighting dirty either.

Unfortunately for him, being self-taught in a lot of his development as a fighter--even his time training in the Room of Spirit and Time with Vegeta was largely spent by himself--Trunks is prone to making mistakes. When he powered up to Ultra Super Saiyan in his fight against Perfect Cell, he didn't have the experience to realize that the massive increase in power also came with a decrease of speed and mobility, as well as the form's immense drain on his energy to maintain, and he got soundly trounced. When Cell pointed out his mistake, Trunks lost all hope of winning and gave up the fight--but he still had enough fire in him to sass at Cell.

One of the reasons Trunks is more restrained and polite than his main timeline self is the lack of his father, Vegeta, in his childhood. Instead, his main influences were his mother Bulma and, perhaps more importantly, Gohan. Trunks is incredibly close to his mother, and he was close to Gohan while the older half-Saiyan was alive. Having their influence was a good part of what makes Trunks so reserved and polite. However, when given the chance to meet his father, Trunks wanted desperately to prove his worth to Vegeta and gain his acceptance. Thus, he kinda followed Vegeta around like a lost puppy and refused to do anything that might hurt his father's pride. When he found out about Vegeta's reaction to his temporary death (which occurs after the canon point he's pulled from,) he was actually happy about it.

Lastly, to balance out the OPness of his abilities, there's a major aspect of his personality--Trunks doesn't really like to fight like a full-blooded Saiyan does, certainly he would never think of doing anything to harm anyone who didn't do something to damn well deserve it--unless he had absolutely no other choice. He fights because his power and the circumstances of his world obligates him to, not because he enjoys it, and certainly not because he's driven to do so.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
strengths ;
- absurdly strong, ridiculously fast, capable of punching mountains into gravel, etc.
- energy control gives him the ability to fly, enhance his strength further, and shoot things with laser beams. He can also suppress his own energy level and sense that of others.
- SWORD FIGHTIN'!
- what doesn't kill him quite literally makes him stronger
- can take a shitton of damage like a boss, he's generally more resilient than a normal human--illness and injury have to be serious to take him down, and he generally recovers faster.
- determined
- loyal
- smart, especially where mathematics and engineering are concerned, if he ever gets the chance to show it off

weaknesses ;
- lack of experience. This is the big one--it especially tends to mess with him when fighting stronger opponents. He makes stupid mistakes and it ends up with him getting his ass kicked.
- pride. This can combine with the above weakness to give a one-two punch of fucking up that will end with his ass getting kicked 'round the schoolyard.
- impulsive. At least sometimes, he'll fly epically off the handle and run screaming headlong into danger--this is generally where his family and friends are concerned. (See: the dozens of times in the series/movies where he tries to run to Vegeta's defense.) Or if the androids are involved.
- vulnerability to magic. He's never really encountered or defended against it.
- prone to introspection and fits of melancholy. I don't even know how else to describe it except for somewhat mild PTSD--he can be triggered into flashbacks, generally of things and people exploding or his mentor Gohan's death. These don't generally impair him from functioning, but it will quite obviously distract him.
- idk if this is a weakness so much as inconvenience, but Trunks' metabolism is far and away higher than a normal person, so he generally eats a lot of food when he can. Not nearly as much as a full-blooded Saiyan, but he can pack food away if it's there for him to.

[ Other Important Facts ] :
Trunks has no tail (Toriyama forgot about it, lol. I just say that Bulma cut it off when he was a kid, therefore he has a scar on his lower back where it would've been) and therefore can't be immobilized by grabbing it, and he won't transform into a rampaging monkeybeast under the full moon.

However, he is capable of transforming into a Super Saiyan, which is probably the better end of that deal in the first place.

[Wet? Yes. Annoyed? Most definitely. Quietly panicking because where is he and he had been flying after Father intent on yelling at him or...something...yup, that too.

Trunks has really had enough of surprises for one day. Nothing is going the way it should be going. It was history, how much could it change? First the delay of Goku's illness, then the new androids, and now...this. Whatever 'this' was.

Where ever this was.

Trunks could have dried himself off with a burst of ki, but he decided not to draw attention to himself, thinking it best to lay low and hide his power level. Even if it meant dripping water everywhere. It would be easier to look around from the air, but also risky. He wasn't going to take any chances. Just be friendly, largely unthreatening (the broadsword at his back would throw that impression off quite a lot), and ask someone what was going on. Speaking of, there was someone now.]

Excuse me...could you tell me what's going on here? Where is this?

Wiki powers, activate!

[ Personality ] :
For a guy who is typically all smiles and sunshine, he’s had to boulder a lot of tragedy during his life. But it just goes to prove how strong he really is, as no matter what happens to him, he refuses to give up. He does not even allow himself proper time to grieve over these events, because he needs to do what he needs to do right now, and can’t wait for anything(Example : Goofy’s ‘death’ In KH2, Mickey barely hesitated to dive into action as revenge for what happened to his fallen friend) . Often, however, that trait gets him into trouble, as he often doesn’t ask for help and feels he can do these things by going head-first. (Example: In KH Birth, he thought he knew better than his master, Yen Sid, and took the Star without permission to go traveling) Though he can be stubborn and arrogant in that way of thinking, he honestly means well when he does these things, and is only trying to help. When he does leave people behind, it’s because he trusts them and feels they can handle themselves, because if Mickey thinks of you as a friend, you have his complete faith.

When he’s not whacking shadows with his giant key, Mickey is very friendly and pleasant, eager to make friends and share stories. He often assumes the best of people before he gets to know them, and even if he’s been hurt by a friend, he can still hold firm belief in them that they can change. His love for his friends is so strong that it can even change things he strongly believed in before. (Example: Before meeting Riku, he thought all who used the power of Darkness were bad. But after meeting him and spending time with him, Mickey decided that Riku could use the power of Darkness for good, and in fact encouraged Riku to do what he could with both darkness and light.) He’s also a bit of a mischievous guy, able to tease and prank like any child, but also knows when it’s time to man up and take responsibility. He’s loved and respected by everyone in his kingdom, but he never lets that give him a swelled head, and treats everyone equally.

Though there’s little more Mickey would love than to just relax in the arms of his wife and see his friends happy and healthy, he can’t deny that he enjoys adventures and mysteries. He can feel useless if he has to stay somewhere and not do anything, which is why he tends to seek these mysteries out so he can solve them and right the wrongs. Adding this with his determination, he lacks the ability to give up on any cause for any reason. He is willing to do anything to help even complete strangers, even at the cost of his own safety. (Example: At the end of KH 1, Mickey willingly closed himself and Riku off into a realm of darkness, not knowing what was on the other side but knew this would save his close friends, Donald and Goofy, and a kid named Sora who he barely knew.) This is a mouse that cannot be stopped when he has a goal in mind, no matter how many years it takes or how badly he wants to go home. He’s stubborn to a fault with a heart of pure gold.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
+ Keyblade and magic (Pearl, Cure, Holy), good on both offensive and defensive. He’s fairly strong with both.
- He is a small fellow, so physical attacks don’t hurt too badly on a big guy, and his stamina isn’t too impressive.
+Loyal, brave, friendly, determined.
-Stubborn, headstrong, prideful, impatient.

[ Other Important Facts ] :
- He’s been known to have at least two keyblades, but for the sake of ‘weakening’ him down, he’ll only use Kingdom Key D.

[The video flickers on, but since Mickey is not looking directly into it, it can easily be assumed it was turned on by accident. He’s tossing the starfish communicator up and down, out of bored agitation.]

Aw, c’mon, Yen Sid! I know ya gotta be around here somewhere! We were just talkin’, I need ta know about ta do about Sora and Riku! Ya can’t just drop me off somewhere without a clue! I know ya can hear me! Why, I oughtta –

[His eye then catches on to the fact that the video is on. He blinks, then his eyes dart around before he grins sheepishly at being caught ranting.]

… Huh! Well. Whaddya know. [Then he’ll clear his throat, trying to be a grown-up.] Hiya! Don’t suppose anyone out there knows a fella named Yen Sid? Tall, human, big beard, never smiles? I’ll even settle fer the name a’ this place… and what this thing is… and why I’m all wet… gosh, I could really use a lot of help fer this one. I don’t even know where ta start!

Hm… Minnie’s always goin’ on about the right introductions… guess that’s a better start than nothin’. My name’s Mickey Mouse! Who might you all be?

[ Character's Name ] : Serah Farron
[ Character's Age ] : 21
[ Series ] : Final Fantasy XIII-2
[ Canon Point ] : After Lebreau tells her that she needs to stand on her own and not rely on Lightning.

[ History ] :
Final Fantasy XIII

Serah lived relatively peacefully with her older sister Lightning (unless she was attending university as a history major) until she met a man named Snow Villiers over one of her summer breaks. It didn't take long for them to fall in love. Unfortunately for them, however, Serah's interest in history landed her in a bad situation. After visiting the Bodhum Vestige, Serah was marked by a Pulse fal'Cie named Anima - who had been trapped inside the Vestige.

That night, she had a dream that she transformed into Ragnarok and destroyed Cocoon. The vision scared her so much that she broke off her relationship with Snow in order to protect him from her new nature. He chased after her, however, and reassured her that they would get through it together.

Not long after, Serah met Vanille and the pair unload their problems in turns. Serah didn't realize, at the moment, that it was Vanille's fault that she was turned into a l'Cie in the first place. Therefore she remained on friendly terms with the woman when they parted.

The day after Serah's chat with Vanille, Serah and Snow searched for a present for Lightning's birthday. That night, Snow proposed to Serah and thus gave her the courage to tell her sister the truth. However, when Lightning was faced with the truth of her sister's new nature, she balked and grew angry. Snow tried to bridge the gap between the sisters, but it was no use. Serah ran away from the meeting in tears.

Whilst on the run, Snow and Serah evaded the PSICOM soldiers as best as they could. However, after they enter the Bodhum Vestige (one of the safest places they could be - or so they thought), Serah was dragged into the Vestige itself by a silver liquid. She then became a fal'Cie prisoner.

Some time later, during the Purge, Serah encountered Snow and Lightning again. After Sazh tried to kill her - because of what she was - she tried to put all of them at ease. She then craftily led them onward to their fate (which was unknown to them at the time). Upon her task being completed, she was crystallized - signaling that her Focus had been fulfilled.

Later, when Snow learned that Serah's Focus had been to draw more people into the Vestige, he was devastated. He had thought, originally, that Serah's Focus (like the rest of the Focuses) had been to save Cocoon. Yet, once the group reached the end of its journey and realized what all of their Focuses meant, Serah woke up and forgave Lightning for being so callous to her. She then started to plan her wedding with Snow.

Final Fantasy (Episode I)/Final Fantasy XIII-2

Serah moved in with Snow and began teaching the children of Gran Pulse. In particular, she taught the children why Cocoon fell. Yet, before she was able to settle in properly, Lightning disappeared. Confused, Serah sought out Hope and Snow for answers. Hope gave her Lightning's knife, which he found at the base of a pillar, and Snow told her that Lightning was likely holding up Cocoon with Fang and Vanille (who had been crystallized at the end of FF-XIII). Serah didn't believe them, considering she had seen Lightning only a few seconds before.

Two years later, everyone believed that Lightning was crystallized - except for Serah. She held onto her belief that Lightning was out there somewhere. Finally, Snow gave Serah his engagement pendant and promised her that he would find Lightning - no matter the cost. But, after a year of hearing nothing, Serah knew something was wrong.

That night, she dreamed that Lightning was fighting a mysterious man and a boy arrived in New Bodhum to aid her. At the same moment as her dream, a Crystal Meteor crashed outside and Serah awoke to find herself in completely different clothes (because all meteors bring a change of clothes). Deciding to investigate the loud sound, Serah hurried outside to find that the village was a barren waste-land. However, that vision didn't last for long. Once it dissipated, Serah found herself in a village filled with strange monsters. When one of them tried to attack her, she called out for Lightning - only to be saved by Lebreau (a member of Snow's NORA).

Lebreau then told Serah that she cannot rely on Lightning anymore and that she needed to learn to stand on her own. At this point, Serah will enter the game (if accepted).
