◣ Application ◢

APPLICATIONS ARE Closed

Applications will always be open from the 22nd until the end of the month, 12:00am EST.

Please note that as of July 28th, Vatheon will start working towards end game.

August 31st is the last day for applying. We will no longer open applications after that. Thank you for your consideration.

» Please make sure that you read the rules, and check the reserves before applying. People who do not read the rules will be rejected immediately.

» You are allowed to apply for two characters per application cycle. You may also reserve two characters. We will try to review each application as soon as possible. If longer than a week has passed and you have not heard back anything about your application, please drop us a message.

» Don't lie in your application. Don't copy / paste things from wiki. Keep what you post in your application strictly you. Sure, it's hard to add your own flair to writing history or a personality, but try to keep from summarizing too much. Show us your shine! Plagiarizing another player's application is ground for an immediate rejection.

» If someone has a reserve for a character, and you want to apply for them, you have the choice of either A) challenging the application with one of your own or B) waiting until the reserve expires and then applying/reserving as the character. If you challenge the original reserver, your application will not be reviewed until the original reserver has submitted theirs.

» Currently, the character limit is five characters. Any more is up to the mods, and must be discussed ahead of time with them. You may only apply for two characters from the same canon.

» Keep spamming to a minimum on the applications. Wait until that person is accepted into the game before holding out a conversation on a thread. Comment spamming here makes things cluttered, and a mod may accidentally miss something important. ( But feel free to comment-spam the Reserve page, if you'd like. )

» Please don't skip over any section of the application below.

» Please finish your application before posting. We reserve the right to decline any applications that are still unfinished when we process them.

» When reviewing applications, we take opinions of our members into consideration. If you would like to make a comment about an app that is being decided upon, do not hesitate. Here is where you can leave a comment with what you thought of another app. All comments will be screened for privacy, and the option to be anon will be left on. Do note, player opinions do not decide if an application is accepted or not, but will be taken into consideration.

( Player Name ) : A nickname will work. Whatever you would like to be listed as.
( Personal DW ) : Not your character's journal. Your own, just in case one of the mods ever needs to contact you that way.
( Age ) : No players under the age of 15, please!
( Timezone ) : Just for reference sake!
( Other Characters ) : At Vatheon, that is. Please list in the following format.
Character ( Character's Journal ) | Series

☆ Character - - -

( Character's Name ) :
( Character's Age ) : There is no set age limit for the characters, and in fact, this is very flexible. So long as your character is mature enough to take care of him or herself and is mature enough for the game, they can be apped! As a basic guideline, think the maturity of someone around the age of 13 or so.
( Series ) :
( Canon Point ) : What part of the story of the series is your character coming in after? Did he or she just die? Did something traumatic just happen? Is it near the end, the beginning, or the middle? Tell us!
( Playability ) : If you are apping your second person for a particular canon, please give us a quick reasoning on why the characters would not be extensively interacting/how you are planning to avoid any playercest issues. If you are not apping from a canon you already play in, please disregard this section.

( History ) : You may provide us with a link to a wiki-page, or something else that will sufficiently give the Community and the mods background on your canon. If you wish to write out the history yourself, you still may do such.

( Personality ) : Probably the most important part of the application! Tell us what your character is like. We're looking for a well-developed analysis of the character. Perhaps between three to five paragraphs, roughly. Feel free to do more or less, however, if you think that better suits you. Most applications will be closer to the three than the five, and that's completely okay!

Just make sure to hit on crucial aspects of that character. What does he or she like? What does he or she hate? What are his or her motives? What parts of your character's past influenced how they are? Does your character act differently in front of different groups of people? Think of these questions as you write. Feel free to go off the page and focus on other questions. The above questions were just to get you thinking.

( Strengths/Weaknesses ) : So tell us! What can your character do well? What is your character weak against? Any cool spells? Good at picking locks? Anything you can think of, put it here.

( Other Important Facts ) : Have something else important to mention about your character that doesn't really fit in anywhere else? Be sure to include it here!

( Sample ) : This can be in first person or third person. There's no limit to your sample post. Just be sure to include your character's voice. Don't just write your character walking around! Be sure to include thoughts, quirks, and anything else that shows us you know your character. How would he or she react to the mark? How would he or she react to waking up some place new? Is he or she still brooding over something? The sample does not have to be set in Vatheon. You may also link to other roleplay threads; just be sure to give us something that shows how you plan to play them and clearly shows their voice! Or feel free to do a few of the above. Whatever you think will best show your characterization.

Please note! If you are linking samples, please make sure that at least one sample is from within the last three months. You are still free to link other samples that are older in addition, if you feel these would help show your ability to play the character, but at least one sample needs to be recent. Thank you.

If you are unable to think of a good starting point for a sample, we collected some prompts of situations that are pretty likely to happen within Vatheon to start you off. You are very welcome to deviate from these prompts or come up with something completely new. This is just something to hopefully help you get started:

A new curse has settled upon the city of Vatheon: Suddenly you character realizes they are unable to lie for the duration of a week. How do they react?

What is this? Is that rain? How nice-- wait a minute, is it raining rubber duckies? Seriously?

Suddenly, by the force of Vatheon, an over zealous npc, or even your character's friends playing a joke, your character suddenly finds themselves wearing clothes they otherwise would never wear. What do?

The city of Vatheon is under attack (again). Giant sea-creatures are wrecking the city (again). Time to prepare for battle.

A new plot development has happened and your character has decided to get some more information from one of the NPCs. How do they proceed?

( Questions? Comments? Concerns? ) : Tell us here!

( Character's Name ) : Death the Kid
( Character's Age ) : 16???
( Series ) : Soul Eater
( Canon Point ) : Battle on the Moon (Chapter 103).
( Playability ) : N/A

( History ) :
Guess who doesn't feel like writing a hundred chapters worth of history?

( Personality ) :

On first glance, Death the Kid seems poised, refined, more mature and level-headed than his apparent age suggests, and his status as a three-star meister (when other students at Shibusen are often classified one-star) and the son of Death places him apart from his peers. He is exacting, severe and direct, and unlike most (so-inclined) teenagers is much more annoyed than titillated by flirtatious or lascivious behavior – and perhaps because of the things that distinguish him from the other students of Shibusen, he might have discovered how lonely it can be 'at the top' if not for the complimentary relationship he has with his two weapons, the friendships he eventually found in some of his exceptional peers, and the rivalry he has with a brash boy with an inexhaustible drive to beat even a god.

Having grown up with incredible privilege as the son of Death, he's also a spoiled brat who is accustomed to having his way with little (or no) consideration for whether the timing is convenient for others; for example, he has blithely left allies alone on a mission to run a frivolous errand... IN ANOTHER COUNTRY, simply because he could not abide leaving it unfinished, or has stubbornly refused to proceed because circumstances displeased him, requiring his two weapons, Liz and Patti Thompson, to literally drag him around. Although serious (and often to a fault, taking everything a little too seriously, not the least of which his self-assumed duties as the heir of Death), he is still a teenaged boy, indulging in the things that interest him with sparkling enthusiasm, and fearlessly taking on risks only the young and hot-blooded might.

His aloof, mature facade is neatly shattered when you place him in the vicinity of anything of exceptionally symmetrical appearance; he is simply obsessed with it, a perfectionist to a degree truly worthy of classification as a serious case of OCPD (obsessive-compulsive personality disorder). Kid's desire for bilateral symmetry in every aspect of his life is a manifestation of the Madness of Order. When brought to the fore and amplified by the representation of the Madness of Power within the Book of Eibon, he craved a world brought into perfect symmetry through "nothingness"; now that he has found a way to manage and control his insanity, he desires perfect symmetry through balance of all things, and can use his Madness to increase his own spiritual power immensely at will, as a kind of "cool killing intent".

The downside? Kid is easily reduced to a sobbing, inconsolable wreck for such personal crimes as forgetting to fold the end of the toilet paper into a triangle or leaving a picture frame hanging off-center; missions have ended in failure because Kid was distracted by his obsession with symmetry, or something asymmetrical has caused him such personal distress and offense he has veritably exploded with (albeit short-lived) fury.

( Strengths/Weaknesses ) :
Strengths
Hand-to-hand combat, ranged combat (guns), organization, skateboarding, athletic (acrobatic feats, some sports), even-tempered (generally), helpful, takes duty seriously (keeps information confidential), supportive of friends and very loyal, fearless.

Weaknesses
Reckless (I mean, who isn't a shounentard in these comics, seriously), not terribly worldly (socially sheltered/gullible/naive), VERY EASILY DISTRACTED, stuck-up rich kid, bilateral symmetry OCD, secretive, intractible, independant, perfectionist/control freak.

( Other Important Facts ) :
Powers and Skills
Shishin Taijutsu - a unique form of martial arts, very peculiar in style, but effective in hand-to-hand combat. So far, he has demonstrated its use in two 'stances', called the Stance of Crime (stressing offensive attacks) and the Stance of Punishment (defense is key).

The Lines of Sanzu - These three white lines usually span around only one side of Kid's head, breaking up the black monotony of his hair. However, as these lines lengthen to wrap around his head and connect in an uninterrupted line (in canon, he has only connected two at once so far) his power increases, allowing him access to stronger powers (like force fields of energy in the shape of a skull, etc.)

Soul Perception - This is the ability to perceive other souls and detect how strong they are, what kind of being it belongs to (such as whether or not it's an animal or human, etc.), and some details about that soul's demeanor (for example, a hot-blooded, fiery-tempered soul might burn like a little ball of fire).

Madness of Law - Kid's obsession with bilateral symmetry is a manifestation of insanity called the Madness of Law; although at one point in time he succumbs to his insanity to the extent of pursuing his idea of a zenith of order in total nothingness, he eventually comes to the conclusion that true order can only be found in a precise balance of all things in existence. When giving himself over to his Madness, Kid gains the ability to connect his Sanzu Lines and greatly increase his physical and spiritual power (so far, he is able to connect two at a time). However, there's a danger in losing himself to his Madness if relied on too heavily.

Shinigami - As the son of Death (and actually, described as a 'fragment' of Death), Kid gains a number of benefits; his body is hardier than humans, resisting (or simply unaffected by) illness, poisons, etc. His recovery time for injuries appears to be extremely accelerated, as he takes a serious beating (pierced/slashed numerous times, then beaten flat) and still manages to pick himself back up to finish off his opponent (and bring down the Egyptian pyramid they were in). Other physical attributes, such as his speed, dexterity, and stamina are superhuman, as he can move so quickly the gesture is unseen by the naked eye, and can teleport short distances (or has such speed that getting from point a to point b happens so fast the human eye cannot perceive it at all). It also appears that he can take the souls of the deceased into himself for safekeeping, as well as a number of his personal items for summoning as he needs them (such as his skateboard, Beelzebub).

Re: Jake English | Homestuck | Reserved 2/???

[personal profile] kringlefuck 2012-11-22 12:11 pm (UTC)(link)
( History ) :

Jake English is the post-Scratch version of Grandpa Harley and is Jade Harley's post-Scratch counterpart. Unlike Jade who dreamed of Prospit daily and had social interaction that way, Jake grew up alone to fend for himself and sort of raise himself. This could be one key reason why he's such a strange acting individual. However, Jake has his friends he can talk to through Pesterchum, and is pen pals with Jade Harley who is his genetic grand daughter in the pre-Scratch universe. Jake is skeptical about his pen pal, but is unaware of his relation to her. Besides that, Jake has no interaction with anybody else for the majority of his life.
The two communicate across two Earth universes with one another as pen pals, and Jake is responsible for working on John's present that was successfully delivered to him on his 13th birthday. Act 6 opens with an introduction to Jane before switching to Jake and talking about his character. We know he's on an island which looks similar to the one Jade was born on, and it turns out to be the same one but with large differences between the two universes.
A few more pages into the comic and it reveals that the island Jake lives on is inhabited by monster like creatures that are similar and favoring that of the troll's lusii (the guardians of the trolls that raise them). We also see a lot of similarities between Jake and John, such as appearance and an interest in movies (and an allergy to peanuts). Jake and Jane have a talk, and it reveals that Jake's dream self is dead through a conversation he has with Jane. The Condesce had him put the death by feeding him peanuts which killed him.

Jake, though, continues to work on John's present because he feels his arm is being twisted to finish it. It's Calliope who is pressuring or "twisting his arm" to finish the present in time. He's nearly done, but then Jake realizes he needs extra uranium to finish John's present, and after having a conversation with his best friend's auto-responder, Jake finds the only way of getting any is to battle Brobot, a robot designed for Jake on his 13th birthday by none other than his best friend himself, Dirk Strider. The robot's purpose was to have somebody for Jake to wrestle with and otherwise make him stronger, and the uranium inside of him is exactly what he needs to complete the gift for John. And so, Jake seeks out the robot so he can finish what he was doing. A better look at the island: he seems to have a lot of pumpkins on his island, and this is where we see the lusii like creatures that inhabit it. Jake appears to be skittish of his surroundings and actually kills a creature like Tinkerbull, later feeling remorse for it. Any of the other lusii seem to terrify him further away from his room, where he eventually finds Brobot.
Through an epic battle, Jake and Brobot battle it out, and Jake gets his ass kicked. He then passes out and catches a glimpse of the "girl of his dreams" which happens to be Aranea, a dead Scorpio troll. Jake awakes and has a conversation with Jane since he cannot get a hold of Dirk, and questions if she has feelings for him or not to sort of settle his thoughts. He seems rather eager and hasty to know who likes him and why. This is probably caused because he wants to figure out who to actually pursue: his friends or this new troll he met, who Dirk tells Jake she's just a fragment of his imagination. As Jake and Jane talk, Jane cannot muster enough strength to confess to him and says she doesn't have feelings for him, and Jake seems alright with that. He's now more curious about how Dirk feels about him, but cannot seem to get a hold of actual Dirk. He's instead getting Dirk's auto-responder once again.

After he finishes the present for John, he has to travel deep within the ruins of his island to get to the transporter to deliver it. Apparently an earthquake of some kind caused from volcanic activity on the island happens and it knocks Jake out unconscious, and if it weren't for his skulltop helmet he probably wouldn't have made it. It's here he fails to awake and has a dream about a conversation he had with Dirk back when he was 13 which reveals more about his past and goes something like this:
Jake seems rather eager about the release of Avatar which is apt to come out "next year" and Dirk sort of pokes fun at him for it before sending him the rest of his birthday present.. which happens to be Brobot. Dirk then admits he had a confession to make to Jake, and while Jake seems to be taking this as a different sort of confession, Dirk spills the beans that he's actually from the future: the year 2422, or 411 Post-Condescension.  Dirk says he's alone in his apartment and can only send things to the past, and he also says that Roxy is from the future too.

Dirk goes on to describe his world and how the Condesce has changed it, and it gets Jake all riled up to where he wants to stop her somehow. Somewhere in this conversation, Dirk asks Jake what he knows about his grandmother. Jake says he's unsure about everything with his grandmother and his memory of her is foggy, but that she loved adventure and had a company that made a good amount of money before it went "belly-up". She had even built a nice fancy house for them to live in. The last thing Jake remembers of his grandmother was the night that she died.  How she died isn't exactly explained, but Jake believes a monster that was on the island got to her. When she went missing for a few days, Jake decided to go out and look for her and when he found her she was dead. It was at that moment he heard an explosion and turned around to see that the house she had built for him had exploded on the hill where it was. He then says he grew up in the jungle ever since until he found his room globe mostly intact in the jungle and that's where he resided the rest of his life. Dirk goes on about his present and how the Condesce took over, flooded the earth and was cruel to the human race and tried to enforce blood casting to mankind by altering their blood color.

It's basically a post-apocalyptic mess in Dirk's timeline.

He also mentions that Jake's grandmother was raised by the Baroness of the Crocker Corp (The Condesce, essentially), who was married to Lord English himself. Jake is also named after Lord English and is actually fascinated with him in a way (having attire and belongings that relate to Lord English which was more than likely passed down to him by his grandmother to insult Lord English), but besides the point, his grandmother ran away when she was really young. She lived a life to really piss off the Condesce before she passed away and Jake had to survive on his own.

Eventually, as the game plays out, Jake is able to get enough uranium to send John's present and successfully enter the game after a complicated synchronization ploy is a success, courtesy of Dirk Strider. We're taking Jake from his period where he is fighting on Dirk's planet after entering the game.

That is about the important parts of history behind Jake.

[personal profile] kringlefuck 2012-11-22 12:17 pm (UTC)(link)

( Personality ) :

A really popular misconception of this character is that he is drop dead suave and a heart throbber; he knows exactly what he is doing to those interested in him and takes pride in it. While it is true, for one reason or another,  that there appears to be several characters to show an interest in Jake romantically, he really isn't the smoothest talker. In fact, he's rather clumsy and unaware of things. Jake is rather oblivious to some of the most evident things, having looked over hints Dirk had dropped before concerning him being from the future, or any sort of flirtations by people. In any case, Jake's echeladder has titles such as: One Tomb; Too Many Suitors, Cupid's Crosshair Candy, Sharkbait Heartthrob, Hunk Rumpus Buster and Beau Skylark.
But anyway, it's obvious Jane has sort of a thing for Jake as well, but cowards out on confessing to him and encourages Jake to pursue Dirk instead. Both Jane and Dirk are potential for a relationship, and Jake seems interested on finding out more about how they both feel through several conversations. He describes his relationship with Dirk as "bestest bros" and "wouldn't mind exploring the waters." Because of this, it's fair to say Jake has a wishy-washy sort of personality. He's never certain about one thing or another and just sort of goes with whatever in most cases. While romance is an interest of his, his mind is usually elsewhere. As of yet, Jake seems to have a massive crush on Aranea and is uncomfortable with reciprocating any feelings for Dirk (if Dirk has those sort of feelings for him like he is assuming), but also has a long standing thing for Jane too. This all points to Jake is very cautious with his choice for a girlfriend.. or boyfriend. It really goes hand and hand with his careful personality anyway.

As mentioned, though, his mind is typically elsewhere. Elsewhere being adventuring or nerding out over comic books or movies. It should also be noted here that he aspires to be an archaeologist and uses most of his time exploring his island, so adventuring is very, very cool to him. He even owns a Tomb Raider belt buckle with matching leg holsters, but alas, his shorts are too long for him to wear them properly. If there is one way to get Jake's attention, it's mentioning an adventure or exploring of some kind. He claims he doesn't really have time to even use Wikipedia or use proper grammar/syntax cause he's a busy guy and "has an adventure to get on with", quote. I should also say he has some weird obsession with skulls.

Jake is a really big nerd. Rather adorable, but very nerdy. He doesn't really seem to openly brag about his impressive collection of comics or movies, but it's obvious he has a stash since he brings up movies and comics a lot, often referencing them.
It's mentioned he especially likes comic books with spider girls in it or movies with cerulean ladies. What he's fascinated with is rather peculiar due to his eccentric personalty and possibly because he didn't have much social interaction growing up besides those he chats with. He's rather energetic and boisterous and possibly a bit of a "ham" who always seems to be on the go. There really isn't much of an explanation why he's so active, but it's certain that it's sort of difficult to calm him down once he gets riled up. One theory for his energy could be the fact he's used to keeping himself entertained since he has nobody else to communicate with in person. This also could explain why he talks with a very odd mix of words and syntax, some of them made up on his own.

Accompanied with being loud and boisterous, he gets flustered very easily, which can essentially lead to something I'll call here a flip out. It's happened several times in the series that he'll type in all caps and draw words out during these flip outs, or start to get embarrassed and sweaty when discussing a topic that is inappropriate or makes him feel nervous. He can get nervous easily. He has a tendency to yell without really thinking about what he's saying, especially during one of these skittish flip outs.

Jake does try his best to be polite and kind to strangers, especially women, but is very much a ruffian otherwise. In fact, he has enough guts to deck a lady if need be, as demonstrated when he attack Meenah in some of the most recent parts of the story, thinking she was the Condesce. Piggybacking on that statement, Jake really does enjoy brawling, probably more than he ought to. There's nothing like a good session of "fisticuffs", and he can sometimes invite himself into a fight without really meaning to from the start. Something about it is enthralling to him, and he would be the one to start a strife or challenge another first. He'll take up the sword, so to say, and plan to be the Blockbuster action hit movie hero, though he just kind of comes across as a major tool. Either way, Jake doesn't really seem ashamed of who he is and can be called a very free spirited individual.

He's very alert and overly prepared for anything. Like any normal person, he has five computers and fetch module in a puzzle form which means he can inventory as much as can properly fit. Given these thoughts, Jake is a packrat and possibly feels exposed or vulnerable when he doesn't have absolutely everything he needs for something. He even has pieces of his former house in his inventory for nostalgic sake. However, one thing he certainly won't leave his room without would be his two M9 Berettas which were a gift from his grandmother as inheritance. This sort of wanting to be prepared complex that he has must come from always being on high attentive considering his island is very dangerous, and he has a sparring robot partner that is also on the hunt for him when he leaves his room.
Jake is open about his interests to everybody without too much of shame. Whether it be about what he's passionate about, like girls associated with the color blue, or guns, or movies; he really doesn't stop and consider how awkward the conversation is getting, and neither does he really care that much. He can be very apologetic for anything that may seem out of line, especially when addressing a new person. Really, new introductions can be very sophisticated and painfully gentleman-like depending on his mood at the time. He will often apologize in advance, somewhere in the back of his wild mind that he's about to say or do something stupid.

Even with him being oblivious and hard to catch onto things, Jake does have a certain amount of untapped potential being a Page of Hope and all of that. He's had his share of brilliance and shown intelligence in ways he didn't think he subconsciously knew.
All things given, Jake is rather kind if you don't come across as dangerous. He can be insecure when meeting new people, but he's sweet to his friends. He seems to also get picked on and has a pretty good attitude about it without being too defensive.

Jake's handle is golgothasTerror, and his typing quirk can be read about here.

( Strengths/Weaknesses ) :

  • Adequate at wrestling: It's his job, and battling a robot for 2+ years has definitely helped him improve, though he does seem to get his ass kicked by machinery from time to time; a fight with another human might end up with a different ending.
  • Knowledgeable of media content: From all of those daggum movies and comic books. He may fourth wall a character now and then, but outside of his media content he owns, he's rather clueless to a lot of things.
  • Good stamina: From all of that running, chasing, shooting bullcrap on his island.
  • Bruiser Brainer: Occasionally can tap into his subconscious and have a brilliant idea or suggestion.
  • Great with guns: His signature is double pistols and it's his favorite to fight with other than his bare hands.
  • Attractive women: They usually can send him stuttering and make him feel nervous.
  • Peanuts: His allergy to them is very sensitive. After all, it is what was used to kill his dream form.
  • Inappropriate content: Boners. But not really. Any sort of off topic conversation thrown at him that's inappropriate to him can possibly throw him off guard and make him vulnerable.

( Other Important Facts ) :

Jake will have with him the following:
  • x1 GREEN PUFFER VEST
  • x1 BLACK SHORT SHORTS
  • x1 EMERALD GASMASK
  • x2 SOLID GOLD BERETTA 9MM SEMIAUTOMATICS
  • x2 LARA CROFT LEG HOLSTERS
  • x1 GREY WIFEBEATER
  • x2 ADVENTURE BOOTS

( Sample ) :

The heat index might as well be labeled as stupid degrees Fahrenheit with how hot it seemed outside. The occasional breeze provided by the palm trees overhead provided some relief when it cast over his tanned form, combat boots crunching the dry ground where he stepped. Jake swatted at a mosquito that resided on the back of his taunt neck, pressing his chipped nails inward as a slight hum passed through his lips. He was especially keen on his reflexes today. It had been days since he had last seen his sparring counterpart who seemed to be playing mind games with him. It would appear that the robot favored his closest comrade a bit too much; Jake wasn't entirely sure how he could even handle two Striders and an auto-responder as it was. Somehow he did; clearly he was out of his wits, but that was something he was naturally. Out of his wits.

The skitter caused by a small reptile causes Jake to practically flip his shit, leaping rather comically to the side and firing a single shot from one of his drawn pistols. Smoke flourishes into clear, and Jake blinks, still suspicious of the bush next to his side. He grits his teeth harshly, "I know you're around here, and by Jove, I'm not going to simply retreat when I've gotten this flippin' close to finding you, and I will get'ya, lickity-split--" Jake mutters under his breath as he brings the side of the pistol to his lips. He holds the gun close to him, lips pursing slightly as he inches further into the brush.

Emerald eyes, spiraling with determination, dart behind rectangular specs as he ignore a bead of salty sweat dripping from the corner of his thick brow. Jake huffs out a gust of air as he picks up his pace to a jog, knowing these grounds like the back of his hand. There's a log that's down over there to his right; he's sure of that. And it leads over a crevice in the earth off to a path that locates itself to a ruin. Easy as pie. There wasn't a spot of confidence missing from him that he didn't know his homeland by heart. Jake crawls over a boulder, which he knew was coming, and leaps into the bushes, probably more dramatically than he needed to. And so he rolls, further into the bush as he turns a trip up into a barrel roll.

Smooth.

He also was humming the Mission Impossible theme while doing so. The boy had to keep himself driven somehow. Jake adjusts his glasses before picking up his jog again. The hunt was on and he was determined to wrestle the robot and give himself a victory. He wasn't going to let his backside get royally kicked once more.

"Of all the blasted things for him to program him to do, it just had to be stealth mode--" A beat. Jake lifts himself up and rubs his forehead with the back of his head before muttering to himself, "--I really don't fancy stealth mode all the friggin' time, but he's too darn fast for me to fix that."

Something goes off in his pocket, which happens to be his mobile. It seems somebody was pestering him. They had a tendency to pester him at the worst and intense times. Jake, however, stops everything he's doing and rests against the tree entirely, pulling out his phone and texting whoever was pestering him back. It was almost planned how often this happened, as if Brobot and his friends were teaming against him.

He didn't even notice the pair of red eyes watching him carefully from the tree, slowly targeting the boy in silence.

( Character's Name ) : Rapunzel
( Character's Age ) : 18
( Series ) : Tangled
( Canon Point ) : After getting Flynn and Maximus to call a truce.
( Playability ) : N/A

( History ) : Here

( Personality ) :
At exactly 18 years old, Rapunzel is primarily three things: Curious, talented, and sweet. The curiosity comes from her sheltered life, and she longs to know more about what other people's lives are like. In fact, her curiosity is one of her main driving forces. Due to it, she develops the bravery to look at the world as more than just a scary place. She loves to learn about a number of subjects, and approached the world wide-eyed and ready to be taught… Which leaves her perhaps a bit too impressionable.

She has a number of skills she developed early in life, to cope with being bored, and while none of them are particularly helpful in a big-picture sense, (she's mostly artistically gifted), it passes the time. As an artist, she's truly exceptional. Painting is her true passion, whereas her other hobbies are more ways of passing the time. So while her artistic gifts are grand, she is not an expert in her other areas of interest, even the other artsy ones. Still, she's not doing these things to be the best - She's doing them to have fun.

She's also quite... Well, really, good, to the point of being somewhat naive and trusting those she shouldn't. She has a positive nature, is incredibly obedient, (most of the time), and in general is just a well-intentioned soul who brings out the best in others. She's non-judgmental and very open to new ideas about other people and accepting their flaws. A large part of this is the fact that she's had so few people in her life that she really isn't about to discriminate when it comes to who she gets to know.

Rapunzel can be a bit of a scaredy-cat, but it's not without good reason. While, as mentioned above, she has the ability to bring out the best in people, she was always taught that there was no best in most people. Though she is very trusting of people, her initial reaction is still always suspicion and fear when meeting someone new.

Additionally, she is perfectly capable of being tricky and manipulative when a goal is important to her. On that note, the girl is incredibly determined when she has a dream to reach. She just doesn't give up, even if she has to do some wrong - so long as it's not truly cruel - to get where she wants to be. She works hard, faces her fears, and thinks and acts her way around obstacles when she's on a mission.

But how does Rapunzel see herself? Well, that's a little complicated. She will wake up in the morning feeling pretty good about who she is, but it doesn't take much from Gothel to make her see herself as weak and helpless. However, she is very quick to overcome that when she does something right.

( Strengths/Weaknesses ) :
Strengths:
-Rapunzel is extremely multi-talented, with a number of artistic skills such as knitting, painting, and pottery.
-Rapunzel has notable physical strength and sense of balance.
-Rapunzel is highly adaptable.
-Most notably, though, Rapunzel has magic hair. When she sings a certain incantation, it glows and can heal injuries and illnesses, reverse aging, and even bring back the dead.
Weaknesses:
-Rapunzel is naive and easy to frighten, and even with the growth she's had, these traits still exist within her.
-Rapunzel has little to no "street smarts".
-Rapunzel is trusting to a point that can be dangerous.
-Rapunzel has a level of low self-esteem after being emotionally abused by Gothel for eighteen years.

( Character's Name ) : Garry
( Character's Age ) : Not given. A headcanon I am comfortable using is 24.
( Series ) : Ib
( Canon Point ) : post-Promise of Reunion ending!
( Playability ) : N/A

( History ) : Garry is first met in the game when Ib sees him looking at The Hanged Man painting in the museum. When approached, the man says nothing.

Later, when Ib is sucked into the horror art world, she eventually runs into the man again. He, like Ib, has had his life-force attached to a rose, a blue one, that must be kept healthy. When Ib finds Garry in the art world, he is collapsed on the ground, in a great deal of pain. After taking a key from him, Ib tries to wake Garry up, to no avail. Soon after, though, she finds the blue rose and puts it in water. Garry regains strength, and is delighted to see his is not alone in this horror world. He sticks with Ib because he doesn't want her to be in danger.

The duo goes through a series of room where they most solve puzzles, and eventually they meet a girl named Mary. Shortly after, Garry is separated from the two girls, and both Garry and Mary and Ib must work to reunite. During this time, Garry has a traumatic experience with some dolls, leading up to a giant, terrifying one. He is seen to be quite mad when Ib and Mary find him. Unfortunately, this causes him to forget another experience in his time alone - learning that Mary is in fact a painting and quite dangerous and insane. He quickly remembers, however, when he finds her (fake) rose and she tries to attack him. Garry pushes the little girl away, and tells Ib what he learned about her.

With Mary knocked out, Ib and Garry continue their journey, while they also continue to grow close as friends. Garry suggests they go get macaroons together if they get out... And then quickly corrects himself, saying when they get out. And, in time, they do... But not before a dramatic face-off with Mary. She comes at them with a knife, and Ib finds and burns the frame of her painting. Mary is defeated. The glass of the painting breaks, and cuts Garry's hand; Ib gives him her handkerchief to bandage it up. Because of this, they are able to remember each other after finally leaving the horror art world, albeit vaguely at first. They promise to meet up again, as Garry wants to clear Ib's handkerchief before giving it back.

( Personality ) :
Garry is a character we learn little about, and his history is a complete unknown, in particular. However, here is what we can say about him:

Garry is a somewhat unusual young man. Though he tries to be an adult for Ib, he is quite cowardly, jumping and screaming at almost every single thing in the painting world. He’s easy to spook, and when he is, he can act out, such as when he tries to break a mannequin head that startled him. When on his own, she does a fair bit of running away and just worrying about his situation.

But Garry does not only worry about himself, and this is where her inner courage comes through. For example, in one version of the story, he runs to save Ib from Mary when Mary's true colors are revealed, getting between them and attacking Mary. He’s constantly worried about Ib's safety and trying to take care of her; he wraps her up in her jacket and finds a safe room for her when she gets too tired out. In fact, in one ending, Garry sacrifices his life to save Ib’s, and makes no complaints about it. He is very caring and polite, and generally quite friendly, being sweet to Mary when he first meets her and eagerly encouraging the second girl to go with him and Ib to find a way back to the art gallery.

Garry is noted to have some behaviors that are stereotypically deemed very “feminine”, such as a way of speaking that involves calling people ‘dear’ often, an interest in fashion – shown by his interest in Ib’s outfit – and being easily startled. He’s also generally a bit odd, shown to be fairly comfortable with her safety lying in the hand of two young girls, and being so wrapped up in the painting “The Hanged Man” that he doesn’t even speak to Ib when he first meets her in the art gallery. This is even stranger when one considers that, at one point in the game, Garry may say that he finds art galleries boring.

Gary is socially unusual, as well. He treats Ib as an equal for the most part, except for her initial worries about a child being on her own. He, at one point, refers to Ib as "a tough kid", and seems to admire that about her. In that same scene, he is surprised that Ib, being "tough", is shaken by seeing a portrait of her parents in the horror art world and then talking about not knowing where they are. It seems weird that Garry is surprised that such a thing would bother Ib, as the idea of losing one's parents is very upsetting.

( Character's Name ) : Soul Eater Evans
( Character's Age ) : never stated, I place him at 15 as of his canon point
( Series ) : Soul Eater
( Canon Point ) : chapter 97
( Playability ) : N/A

( History ) :
a full outline of Soul's OU history is here @ Soul Eater wiki

( Personality ) :
On a first meeting, Soul seems laid back, almost apathetic and aloof. He's constantly in a slouch with a drooping look on his face, hands in his pockets. This is his definition of the 'cool guy' he's trying to be. In many ways, he's the complete opposite of Maka; a total slacker when it comes to schoolwork but more than eager to get into a fight with someone who's been devouring souls for their own greed, especially if it means a soul for himself. Yum. This separates him from other Weapons - most Weapons don't like the taste of souls, yet Soul drools over the idea of chowing down on one.

Immature, headstrong and stubborn seem to be the right words to describe Soul, however one of the things he's gained from years of trying to be 'cool' is that he's positively the most loyal person you could ever meet. He considers breaking promises uncool, and would do anything to protect his friends and Meister. Despite appearing to be apathetic, Soul is capable of being determined and gets people back on their feet in desperate times with the right words.

One of the things he keeps to himself is that he's quite vulnerable to low self esteem, first with his brother Wes and then with other Weapons like Justin. He's reluctant to share these problems with others, coming off as cold when inquired about it, and shares Crona's fear of bonding with people.

After Asura is revived, he becomes aware that he needs to get stronger in order to fight off the madness that was released into the world upon Asura's rebirth, and his headstrong personality is replaced by a more level-headed one. He has the ability to keep a cool mind in dire situations, and also possesses deep thought and shows a more understanding sense of judgment when it comes to others.

Despite being a Weapon, he's also human. He has an appreciation for jazz music and Gothic architecture, plays basketball during wind-down times and sometimes has a dark and sarcastic sense of humor.

( Strengths/Weaknesses ) :
Weaknesses:
→ like any other hotblooded teenager, Soul is easily distracted with boobs. Specifically, Blair's boobs. He spent his entire introductory episode getting nosebleeds when they were sent to take care of her as their Witch's soul and even after she becomes friends with them, she uses it to her advantage when she wants attention (such as in The Super Written Exam episode).
→ he can't fight without Maka. Sad as it is to say, Soul isn't very combat efficient on his own, even after becoming a Death Scythe. He's able to hold his own against Giriko in the Book of Eibon, but he does get beaten up pretty badly before Maka pulls herself out of her slump and joins him.
→ he's lazy, nor does he prioritize things. Maka does most of the thinking on this team.
→ his stubborn attitude is bound to get him into trouble more often than not.
→ he's cagey. He doesn't give off any information about his past or anything that he's feeling which leads intooooo
→ insecurity. Sometimes he feels like he's not good enough to be Maka's partner, but he doesn't let this on.

Strengths:
→ brave. Hoo boy, Soul has bravery in bucketloads. He's pretty much your textbook Gryffindor. He's courageous and reckless to a fault, and also more likely to run headlong into danger without thinking things through.
→ he's level headed. Soul is able to keep his cool in a fight without letting his anger get the better of him and calms Maka down when she gets annoyed
→ Soul's loyalty knows no bounds. Once you have his loyalty, you've pretty much got a friend for life, and he's friendly once you're his friend

( Other Important Facts ) :
As a Weapon, Soul has the ability to transform into a human-sized scythe, and even partially transform his arm from the shoulder down into a blade. Despite the ability to transform into a scythe on his own and perform partial transformation, Soul is greatly hindered by the absence of his Meister Maka Albarn. Soul can also take advantage of Maka's Soul Perception through their Resonance, able to sense other people's Souls as well as she can, as well as her Anti-Demon Wavelength. Like all Weapons, though he's usually seen in the form of a scythe he has the ability to change his shape - called Form Manipulation - but the extent of this change has not been shown yet apart from manipulating the length of his blade.

Black Blood, however, is an ability that he gained after being infected by Crona. Black Blood allows him - through a room in his mind inhabited by a little demon the Black Blood implanted - to invade the blood stream of those he performs Soul Resonance with. Black Blood usually comes with an intense insanity, but Soul is able to overcome that insanity and drive the madness away. With this, Soul also has the ability to create Resonance links with anyone despite the difference in their wavelengths.

At the current point in the manga, Soul is a Death Scythe, having achieved the goal of obtaining 99 corrupt human souls (Kishin) and one witch's soul. This means he's (one of) Shinigami-sama's personal weapon(s), though he's still partnered with Maka.
