[ Player Name ] : Famine

[ Character's Name ] : Seven of Nine Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix Zero-One
[ Character's Age ] : 24
[ Series ] : Star Trek: Voyager
[ Canon Point ] : Season 4 episode 8...Year of Hell, just as the temporal warhead stuck in Voyager's hull that she found explodes. This occurs in a timeline that's later reset. Yay for the USS Reset Button.

[ History ] :
Here.

[ Personality ] :
Seven's personality is somewhat difficult to deal with for those who are not used to her. She's awkward in her humanity and tends to be blunt and abrasive, though with time that aspect of her personality has tempered somewhat. She's more aware of social decorum now than when she was first separated from the Collective, but she still has a long way to go and still sometimes considers herself Borg instead of human. She often clashes with others, over things ranging from how to handle ship maintenance to her social skills (or lack thereof.) With time, these aspects have balanced themselves a bit, and Seven is now more likely to have faith in the expertise of others, rather than trusting only to her own Borg knowledge.

While she seems emotionless sometimes, Seven is anything but. She's driven by logic, but also by emotion--expressed differently than some, but not any less. She's headstrong and stubborn, and capable of acting with passion. She feels fear--but often not in the situations that one would expect, or if she does she doesn't show it. She shows regret for the atrocities she committed while part of the Borg collective, even if logically she knows that she wasn't responsible--and at first she stated that she didn't feel regretful at all. She shows concern for her 'collective,' the members of Voyager's crew. All of these emotions are usually fairly subdued; if no one knew better, Seven could almost pass for a Vulcan most of the time.

Despite her subdued nature, Seven is very loyal to her group--the Voyager crew has become her family, her Collective. She'll do anything in her power to keep them safe, even if it means doing something that Janeway won't approve of or doing something that puts herself in danger. She sometimes genuinely does not understand why she's been encouraged to be an individual, and yet gets punished for some expressions of her individuality--she has problems with the chain of command. In some ways, she's like a teenager, dealing with all these problems of becoming an adult and learning how to be social at the age of 28, since she never had to deal with these issues before. But Seven is a very social individual, even if she goes about it in a different fashion--she doesn't like to be alone, it terrifies her, and she values her interactions with the crew. She'd just rather it be on her own terms.

Despite her social awkwardness and abrasive personality, Seven absolutely hates being alone. She literally can't deal with it. So even though she's awkward in her interpersonal relations, she honestly tries to interact with people. She's just easily frustrated with it and doesn't hold back with voicing that opinion. She's also very protective of people she cares about--and she tends to get along with children, much to her confusion.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
Seven is a former Borg drone--she retains some Borg technology that enhances her natural abilities. She has an ocular implant that enhances her visual acuity far beyond a normal human--as well as seeing in greater detail, she's able to see a greater range of the color spectrum and even in different frequencies. She can visually detect irregularities in space-time that even highly advanced Federation sensors from a later century cannot pick up. She has a photographic memory to go along with, and the knowledge of hundreds of races besides--there's a record of basically everything the Borg assimilated and deemed useful up until the point she was severed from the collective stored in implants remaining in her head. She's also physically much stronger and more resilient than a normal human woman of her age. She's resistant to injury and illness--and when she does get injured or sick, she recovers faster--and also many forms of radiation that would very quickly kill a normal human. Most of this is due to the remaining Borg nanoprobes in her bloodstream, tiny machines that constantly work to repair her body tissues and Borg implants. (These are also what facilitate Borg assimilation--were she still a drone, Seven would inject these into another individual via two tubules contained in the back of her left hand, at which point the assimilation process would begin--creating another drone. Seven's nanoprobes no longer have this capability.) Her implants also enhance her senses, and her circulatory and respiratory system were completely reinforced, meaning she can go for a time in depressurized, oxygenless environments. She's not above using her strength if her situation requires it. Her greatest strength, though, lies with technology, programming, and engineering. She's very good at fabricating useful items out of seemingly useless technological scrap and can program or hack circles 'round most anyone.

But being an ex-Borg isn't all sunshine and puppies. Seven doesn't sleep like a normal person, instead she has to regenerate in a Borg alcove. The alcove connects to Seven's remaining cybernetic implants to recharge and repair them from daily use. If she goes too long without regenerating, she loses motor control, control of her emotions, and could also lose consciousness--basically experiencing the symptoms of lack of sleep. She requires at least 3 hours of regeneration (longer if injured or sick) each day ideally, though she can go four or five days without (but will need a longer cycle after doing so.) On average, she regenerates six hours a night. Sleeping normally will help stay these effects if necessary, but it won't be sufficient for the long-term. She also is emotionally and socially rather stunted, tending to act more robotic than human sometimes. Her emotions are rather subdued, save for the more volatile ones, this in addition to her preference for solitude and very vocal blunt distaste for anything she deems irrelevant or useless (including conversation), can make her very hard to get along with. Her implants might also grant her strengths, but they can also be her greatest weakness--if they malfunction, she would require repairs that very likely no one in game would be able to carry out. Her remaining implants are crucial to her body's functioning, so if one of them ceases working...she'd probably die. She has no tolerance for alcohol whatsoever and her digestive system can also be sensitive, seeing as how she didn't eat anything for 18 years. Her immune system is so strong only because of her nanoprobes, she otherwise hasn't been exposed to much, so if they're ever taken out of the equation for any reason, she'd likely become ill.

For the sake of her health, I'll assume that touching the coral also acts as a sort of regeneration cycle for her, so she'll have to do so more often than most.

[ Other Important Facts ] :
Seven's implants compose about 15 to 20 percent of her body, and are tied into all her vitals. They're everywhere from her brain to her bones. One of her eyes is also artificial, though of Federation make. It matches her natural eye perfectly, so it's not immediately obvious that it's a high tech fake.

Her other visible implants: Above her left eye is an arch of metal surrounding the eye socket, that is the side her artificial eye is on. On her right cheek, there's a quarter starburst metal structure from where her faceplate was removed. Her left hand is covered in a skeletal-appearing dark metal construct, that goes up and under the skin just above the wrist. Her right shoulder has another visible implant. The skin around the latter two are a discolored, mottled greenish-gray that fades quickly back into a more healthy tone. Seven usually wears long sleeves that cover the implant on her right arm and the part of her cybernetic hand that disappears into her forearm and wrist.

There may be more of these starburst implants on her torso and legs, but they're never shown in-series.

[ Sample ] :
Vertigo. Nausea. Discomfort. Disorientation. These symptoms weren't altogether foreign, although still disconcerting. She was wet, soaked through to the skin with seawater--luckily her implants, exposed metal though they were, were resistant to saltwater corrosion.

Despite her calm exterior, her thoughts were chaotic, in turmoil. There had been the warhead--the explosion--Tuvok using his superior strength to throw her behind him in an effort to protect her from the flames. An action he would not have had to take, if not for her disobeying his order. She had no way of knowing if he was alive. If the Krenim attack had resumed. She was not at her station. Voyager was still vulnerable, her collective--her friends--still in danger.

Unless, of course, the explosion of the chroniton torpedo had destabilized Voyager's already damaged structural integrity and they were all dead, herself included. It was a possibility--one that made her stomach twist unpleasantly and her heart stutter, at least until her implants regulated its beating. Anxiety? Fear? She didn't know. But at least she was alive.

It was hardly a comfort. Without Voyager's familiar bulkheads, even as destroyed as they were, and without any of the crew in sight, Seven felt exposed and vulnerable. But she couldn't show that weakness. Instead, she straightened herself to her full height, tapping the commbadge fixed to her clothing and utterly ignoring the strange communicator next to her.

"Seven of Nine to Voyager. Respond."

Located here.

Note: From my understanding, the Hero's Shade incarnation of OoT!Link cannot be apped in addition to the Downfall Timeline incarnation of OoT!Link.

Having spoken with the other apper, I would humbly request you reconsider this.

The two characters - particularly once the Hero's Shade incarnation is embroiled in the events of Majora's Mask - are vastly different and more akin to the appearances of Cloud in Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. Both are valid Canon AU's of each other and acknowledged as such within the fandom. I think my application along side the other will make this more than clear.

I will understand, of course, if you decide to remain with your current ruling.

Thank you.

And thank you for allowing me to keep my application opportunity despite the other being put in and accepted before me.

[ Character's Age ] : 15, physically
[ Series ] : Kingdom Hearts
[ Canon Point ] : Just after his duel with Sora in KHII

[ History ] :
Just gonna go with the linkage here.

[ Personality ] :
When among friends, Roxas can be very much like Sora. He's more subdued, but he looks forward to being with his friends, and laughs and has fun with them like any normal boy. He'll tease his friends and put up with teasing in return, and can be a real dork sometimes. He has more memories to draw on now, but there are still a lot of things which will bring on a Sora-like cluelessness and naiveté. But, beyond that their personalities start diverging. Roxas doesn't handle people as well as Sora--he can be sweet, but he doesn't have the best understanding of others and can also be very awkward or tactless, and doesn't recover as easily from his own blunders. Roxas is an introvert. He spends a lot of time in his own mind, and can come off as melancholy or distant. He can be pushed to rash decisions by outside forces, but left on his own he tends to be indecisive and deliberates over things a long time. He isn't the brightest or most observant kid, but uses his brain more than Sora and tries harder to understand what's going on. His questions often go unanswered, but he is not a shoot-first-ask-questions-later type of person. Even when Axel showed up in the fake Twilight Town to fight him, Roxas initially threw down his keyblade and demanded an explanation.

What Roxas feels most strongly about is his own right to exist as an independent individual, and in this way he is very strong-willed. Unlike Axel, he showed no fear in leaving the Organization to find his own answers, or in turning against it. When DiZ tried to rejoin him with Sora, Roxas fought against him--unsuccessfully, but he didn't resign himself to it until he was right there in front of Sora. Even later, in the World that Never Was, Roxas found a way to duel Sora, as though even then he wasn't willing to give up his own consciousness without a fight. Roxas doesn't like to be pushed or manipulated into doing things, and will rebel against anything of the kind. And, when it comes down to it, Roxas will not sacrifice himself for his friends. He will do a lot for them, but both Xion and Axel came at him seriously, and Roxas fought back in kind, and defeated them--injuring Axel and essentially killing Xion.

Because he has been used so much in the past, Roxas has a lot of trust issues. Between the Organization wanting him to collect hearts for them and DiZ wanting him to become part of Sora and defeat the Organization, most people Roxas has come into contact with have had their own agendas for him. Even Axel, while caring about him as much as a Nobody could, still aligned himself with the Organization. Roxas will try to be friendly with strangers, but he isn't open (he will lie, though he's not always believable), and if they ask too many questions he can quickly become suspicious and defensive, or retreat behind sarcasm. He has a low tolerance for people who try to put him down or treat him like a child or an idiot. He has much more of a temper than Sora, and can hold a grudge. Even when he does get along with someone, it takes time for him to truly let his guard down around them.

Roxas also has a bit of an inferiority complex. Part of this is due to his being a Nobody; he isn't supposed to have a heart and feel emotions. Thanks to Axel's insistence on their being friends, Roxas believes he can feel something, but he doesn't believe that it's the same as what whole people feel. He believes that like with other Nobodies, his "feelings" are rooted in the power of memory, rather than the power of the heart. He also has the misfortune of having to compare himself with Sora, who has such a strong heart and is incredibly selfless--a real hero. Having been part of Sora, Roxas has been able to witness that first-hand, and knows he can't measure up. He may strive to be a good or at least a decent person, but he isn't a hero. Furthermore, even Axel seemed to choose Sora over him, by fighting Roxas when the Organization asked it of him, but being willing to give his life for Sora. Roxas may place a great deal of importance on his own right to exist, but he doesn't expect anyone else to put that kind of value in him, and he considers it selfish that he does value his own life that much.

[ Strengths/Abilities ] :
Keyblade - Roxas is one of a select few who can summon the keyblade, a form of magical weapon. The keyblade looks how it sounds, and has the ability to lock or unlock anything from standard locks to entire worlds. As a part of this ability, it has the power to defeat Heartless; although other weapons can temporarily drive them back, the Keyblade actually frees the captive heart within them and destroys the Heartless. This is the use Roxas is most familiar with, since it was his job within the Organization. He is one of the most skilled fighters in the series, arguably better than Sora in terms of technique but lacking in heart. He's also capable of wielding two keyblades at once.

Light - Each Nobody has possessed the ability to wield a particular element. For Roxas, this is light (similar to holy magic). This is his most powerful magic ability, and he can attack with multiple columns or shafts of light at once. It also seems to have some ability to nullify other magics, as when it cleared Axel's fire.

Darkness - As beings from the "in between" spaces, Nobodies are capable of utilizing powers of darkness without being harmed by it. They do this to create portals from one world to another, using the Realm of Darkness as the pathway between. Obviously Roxas wouldn't be able to use this to escape the city, and he doesn't create portals as skillfully as other Organization members.

Magic - In Days, Roxas was able to some degree to use the standard elemental spells (Fire, Blizzard, Thunder, Aero, Cure). However he doesn't use them in his later (chronologically) appearances and it's possible he's forgotten them. His aptitude isn't as high as Sora's either.

Command over Lesser Nobodies - Roxas commands the Samurai Nobodies, which seem few in number but are excellent swordsmen. He could probably also exert his will over the generic Dusks, though this is a another partially forgotten ability. It also wouldn't really come into play without said Nobodies around.

[ Weaknesses ] :
Memory - Roxas has extensive memory issues thanks to everything Naminé was forced to do. He was practically a blank slate when he was born, not having any of Sora's memories. They came back to him some during his time with the Organization. When DiZ had him placed in the fake Twilight Town, both these and his own memories were obscured (but not erased) by an entirely new set of memories, making him think he was a normal boy. As Naminé reconstructed Sora's memory, Roxas began remembering it as well, and eventually his own memories began to resurface. He still has huge gaps in what he remembers both of Sora's life and his own with the Organization. His memories of Xion were completely erased. And on top of having gaps, he still has the fake memories, and sometimes has trouble distinguishing. All of this really bothers him, because it means that others can know things about him that he has no knowledge of.

Ignorance - This goes along with his memory issues, but there are a lot of things Roxas still does not know about the way the world works. The only "normal" life he's led was in the fake Twilight Town, and his time there was brief. He just lacks context and experience and has to ask a lot of questions.

Sora - At least in the KH universe, coming into contact with Sora means Roxas ceases to exist as himself. Not unlike instant death, and Roxas actually fears it more than dying.

[ Other Important Facts ] :
Supposedly Roxas actually does have a heart, unlike other Nobodies, since Sora carried Ven's heart within him. But, Roxas doesn't know this.

[ Sample ] :
First Person
[The video switches on to reveal... the side of Roxas's head. He seems to be in the process of inspecting the communicator, turning it this way and that, and is unaware that it's recording. In fact, it catches him in the middle of a sentence, apparently talking to himself.]

--button do? Maybe I shouldn't be messing with this...

[Apparently that thought isn't enough to stop him because the video switches momentarily to audio-only. Technology wiz, Roxas is not, but at least he's a little too cautious to be keymashing.]

Why would someone put this in my--?

[The video comes back on and he notices this time, stopping short.]

Um. Is this thing... on? Hello?

[He tries to put on a more severe expression and tone.]

If- anyone's there, I want to know what's going on.

Third Person
Like waking up, Roxas wasn't really aware of anything until he had stepped off into the train station. He'd spent the trip in a daze, and for a second he thought he had been dreaming inside Sora's head, dreaming of taking the train in Twilight Town. But when he tried harder to remember it, there was something uncanny about the experience, and then he realized--

He was himself. He looked down at his hands, his hands, Roxas's hands. They weren't see-through. The haze was clearing from his mind and he felt solid and real. The memories were still there, but he couldn't so much as sense Sora's presence. Even the few times before when he had managed to separate his consciousness from Sora's, his Other had always been right there with him. Now... Sora was gone. He was on his own. He felt a small sense of loss--all that emotion that was Sora's heart--but more than that, he felt liberated. To be in control of himself, to be himself...

A smile tugged at his lips. He was Roxas. He had no idea how it had happened, and it was something he needed to find out because his luck had never been this good, but right now, just for a moment, he could be happy about it. Even if he couldn't really feel happiness, he could still call up the memory and fill himself with it, and wasn't that close enough to the real thing? And maybe this time, he'd be allowed to hold onto that. Or at least given more of a fighting chance.

[personal profile] fistfullofmagic 2012-04-01 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
[ Player Name ] : Endless or ES
[ Personal DW ] : anendlesssong
[ Age ] : 21
[ Timezone ] : PDT
[ Other Characters ] : none in Vatheon

[ Character's Name ] : Dhaos
[ Character's Age ] : a few centuries old, specific age unknown
[ Series ] : Tales of Phantasia
[ Canon Point ] : post-death (OVA canon)

[ History ] :
Dhaos is a leader of one of the larger countries of the planet Derris Kharlan. Prior to the events of Tales of Phantasia, a war between two factions broke out, and despite Dhaos’ best efforts to keep the two sides from fighting his pleas fell on deaf ears. The war culminated in the use of a very powerful MagiTech weapon that drained the world of mana and killed the Great Kharlan Tree that was keeping the world alive. Upon discovering this, Dhaos took it upon himself to save his people and home world by gaining a new Mana Seed to replace the tree that had bitten the dust. The welfare of his people and planet are what he cares about above all else, and if push comes to shove he will invariably choose his people over the population of any other planet. Yes, that means if he thinks starting wars and brainwashing ninja becomes a necessary part of saving his world, then he’s going to do exactly that.
To the people of Aselia, Dhaos is the monstrous Demon King; a villainous sorcerer of immense power that wants nothing more than to rain death and destruction upon the world with his army of monsters. The general assumption is that he wishes to rule the world, the same as any stereotypical villain that isn’t out to utterly destroy it instead. In truth, he has about as much interest in taking over the world as the average high schooler has in doing their math homework (which is to say, none whatsoever.) This goes undiscovered by anyone until a band of heroes intent on saving the world have run him through with a broadsword and he uses his last moments to inform them of his motives.

[ Personality ] :
Under most circumstances Dhaos is a caring soul who would much prefer to solve problems with words rather than violence, his tendency to be a bit on the taciturn side non-withstanding. (Dhaos has a total of thirty-five lines in the game.) He is completely dedicated to his people and would do anything to protect them. This is a bit of a double-edged sword, for in the case of a dire enough threat he can become cold and completely merciless toward those who stand between him and the safety of his people. He can also be a bit on the arrogant side at times, though this is likely partially due to his upbringing (it’s implied that he actually is royalty of some form and it’s not just his moniker), and partially to do with the fact that he has the power to back it up. You don’t earn the distinction of final boss (and That One Boss on TvTropes.org) for being a slouch after all. He also has issues with dealing with rage when people manage to get him very angry.

There’s almost no information on how Dhaos acts when he’s not set as the antagonist. As stated earlier, the only information that’s really given is that he’s the benevolent sort. Thus going off of information provided from the prequel Tales of Symphonia, I’ve concluded that he is likely a little bit awkward when dealing with emotions as the first generation of his particularly long-lived species had their emotions taken away for good deal of time and the only one who could’ve done anything to help the transition into having emotions again was… decidedly unqualified for the job, resulting in a planet-wide case of emotional issues being improperly handled and perpetuating down generations. Furthermore, evidence suggests that Dhaos is some sort of royalty, in which case he was likely kept relatively isolated for most of his younger years, further causing issues with dealing with his emotions. Thus I believe that when talking to people he is very polite, but rather awkward with extended conversation not related to business, and terribly awkward when dealing with the emotions of others. Despite this awkwardness, he does generally make an attempt at helping when others are feeling down. He also seems to be the sort of person who puts all his effort into accomplishing one main goal at a time, almost to the exclusion of anything else, and is thus a prime candidate for ending up overdoing things. Leaving him in a small dark space is a bad idea as he was magically sealed in a sarcophagus for an indeterminate amount of time (though it had to have been at least a decade), and dialogue in the game heavily suggests that he was at least partially conscious the entire time, making it quite remarkable that he’s retained enough sanity to function. Further compounding his issues is the fact that his self-worth is tied directly to how well he’s serving his people. Given that as far as he’s aware, his death (and thus failure of his mission) has doomed his entire home planet, he’s going to be in a very dark place when he enters Vatheon…

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :

Physically, he’s quite formidable. Only natural really, since he’s the final boss of the game he originates in. His specialty is magic, but he’s a decent physical fighter as well. Even without the spell up that prevents all but powerful magical attacks from damaging him, he can take a lot of hits. Nevertheless, he is still a far cry from invincible. So yes, it is entirely possible to kill him if you try hard enough. Full battle tactics listed here: http://aselia.wikia.com/wiki/Dhaos#Fighting_Style
He also gets on quite well with people, woodland creatures, and even monsters, and he’s a pretty good leader when the people he’s leading are willing.

Dhaos has absolutely abysmal luck, to the point where if one were to score it on a status screen, it would be in the negative digits. Basically, the universe hates him, only occasionally giving him small spots of hope before grinding that hope into a fine powder and kicking it in his eyes. In fact, it could probably be considered a strength of his that it took him many, many years of his life being one long string of FML moments to finally completely give into despair. The rest of his mental strengths and weaknesses are mostly covered by the Personality section.

[ Other Important Facts ] :
This guy is pretty darn tall by most standards, standing at about six-foot seven. Insulting his cape is probably not a wise decision.

[ Sample ] :

He could feel it; even from deep within his castle he could feel that horrible weapon – the Mana Cannon – misfire, and the massive drain on the world’s mana. Those fools! He’d warned them that infernal contraption would bring nothing but destruction and despair long ago, and yet they had still ignored him!

…Regardless, now was not the time for dwelling on that. Prevention hadn’t worked, so now was the time for damage control. Dhaos took a deep breath to calm himself, then set off in a south-easterly direction. Yggdrasil could perhaps be saved yet.

When he arrived at his destination, Dhaos found he was not the first: a group of three was already there. A blond girl – a Cleric if he were to judge by her healer’s garb – was attempting to use her divine magic to repair the damage done to the World Tree, and it seemed that the spirit of Yggdrasil had set up a barrier in an instinctual effort to keep herself and the little healer from further harm. Not the best course of action, for he could see that to heal the tree it would take more energy than the girl alone had, even were the life to be extracted from her very bones. Still, her companions didn’t seem to be able to help, so it was time he stepped in.

Breaching the barrier was a simple task, though he was fairly certain this was because the tree could sense his motives were merely to assist it. He paused for a moment as one of the girl’s companions – the swordsman, though he still looked more a boy than a man – started yelling something about Dhaos being a coward; to face him instead of harming “Mint.” A strange and very human sentiment, that thought. Why would the boy think that he would kill the girl first, had that been his intent at all? No matter. He resumed his stride, stopping in front of the little cleric. Surprisingly, especially given that she seemed to share the belief that he was there to kill her, she begged not for her life, but for him to wait until she had completed her task. Though incorrect in her assumption, he could certainly respect the courage it took to make a request like that in the face of what appeared to be a powerful enemy intent on your demise. Thus Dhaos couldn’t blame her initial flinch when he raised his hand, though she relaxed minutely when he placed his hand over the one she had placed on Yggdrasil’s trunk. This “Mint” may not have been chosen for the task of healing the tree, but she had answered the call nonetheless. And for that… For that he was glad to assist her by providing the extra power needed to heal the tree.

[ Player Name ] : Mandie
[ Personal DW ] : N/A
[ Age ] : Forever 25
[ Timezone ] : Central
[ Other Characters ] : Zelda, Ion, Vegeta

[ Character's Name ] : David
[ Character's Age ] : 399
[ Series ] : David the Gnome
[ Canon Point ] : Midseries, with at least another six months to live. BUT HE'LL NEVER DIE FROM OLD AGE IN VATHEON ;_;

[ History ] :
(As David's history is not laid out clearly in the series, a great deal of this is headcanon. Family members have been extrapolated from the fact that gnomes are always born in pairs and only have children once and that David has a nephew and a granddaughter in the series.)

Like most gnomes, David had an idyllic childhood. He grew up in a family of four with a sweet but sassy mother who often scolded him for his adventurous streak and a jolly father that nurtured his curiosity by taking him on many exploratory trips. His sister was far more reserved than he was, often electing to stay at home during these escapades. As gnomes are rather traditional creatures, it was up to David (his sister was not a consideration) to take on his father's mantle as doctor in their Latvian forest home. David's family had produced renowned doctors for generations, and David was no exception. At the tender age of 70, David became a full-fledged doctor and was given his family's magic scalpel as a sign of his new position.

Unfortunately, he promptly lost it not even twenty years later in an effort to impress the love of his life, Lisa. Though his daring rescue of the baby bird seemed to go off without a hitch, the scalpel slipped out of his tool pouch and fell to the leaves below without being noticed by the lovestruck gnome. It was picked up by one of the trolls and went missing for hundreds of years. David did manage to find it before his time on Earth was up, though! Lisa was touched by his dedication to his job and agreed to marry him. With the help of his father, David located a suitable tree and made his home there with Lisa. They had two beautiful children, though their son is not the brightest gnome around. Due to this, it's likely that David will pass his title on to his nephew instead.

David's life up to this point has been filled with adventure. Like his father before him, David is a respected authority in the field of gnomish medicine, capable of utilizing both traditional (basic medicine: keeping things clean, stitching, bandages, chiropractic skills, antidotes and other medications) and non-traditional (hypnotism, acupuncture, emotional support, etc) methods of healing. He is quite sought after, having attended to calls from Italy all the way up to Siberia - and that's just in one year of his considerably long life!

Unlike most gnomes, David is willing to work with humans. He is not particularly fond of them and has a great distaste for their wasteful and inconsiderate behaviors, but he hopes that by reaching out and educating human children about nature that he can teach them to respect and love it. He's decided to dedicate the last year of his life to this task, spending a great deal of time writing a record of his travels (as well as a little gnomish history) for the children of the world to read.

[ Personality ] :
David is a kind gnome, looked up to by all the other gnomes in his community as their doctor. He's a devoted man who is always on call, whether it be for simply giving advice to animals or his fellow gnomes or actual medical duties. From Italy to Siberia, David is the go-to gnome for all sorts of problems. He never hesitates to help those truly in need, even if they're his enemies (David has been known to help even trolls before if they're REALLY in trouble!).

That's not to say that David is a pushover by any means. He can have quite the mischievous streak! Drugs, traps and enlisting the local wildlife are all methods that David uses to teach a lesson when a lesson is needed. When someone gets what's coming to them, David has quite a laugh about it - in a good natured way, of course. He isn't vindictive about it, and makes sure to cease the punishment before anyone is seriously hurt.

When not doctoring (and sometimes even during!), David loves to teach and to share his accumulated wisdom with anyone willing to listen. He believes deeply in the old adage that knowledge is power and he has a desire to share some of his knowledge with the world. This tends to result in bouts of exposition on whatever topic is being addressed. He's an old gnome, so all you kids just sit down and let him educate you!

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
+ Has access to all the lore of the gnomes. That's quite a lot of stuff!
+ Fairly agile despite his age
+ Quick-witted
+ Makes friends easily
+ Able to enlist the aid of all the creatures of nature

- Can get overconfident at times
- Getting up there in gnome years, he tires more quickly than he used to
- Doesn't do well in artificial environments
- Look at him. He's tiny! David is a tiny gnome in a big world, and it can cause a lot of trouble for him.

[ Questions? Comments? Concerns? ] :
If accepted, it's likely I'm going to hold off on introing David until the murder event is over. He can handle it, but I want him to get settled before encountering anything TOO interesting.
