[ History ] :
Here have a wiki
[ Personality ] :
Kratos is a very complacent guy, life having kicked him down so hard he finds it incredibly difficult to act on anything under his own volition. He'd like to believe that family is of highest importance to him, but he's already proved to himself through his betrayal of Lloyd and his group that that's not the case (though he takes refuge in the excuse that he's been loyal to Mithos and Cruxis for 4,000 years and a bond like that cannot be broken, despite Mithos' goals). As such, Kratos often simply believes he deserves anything terrible that happens to him, even if he could prevent it, and gets yanked around by those he once considered friends, seemingly having very little will of his own. It's not because he doesn't have it, it's because he doesn't care to. He's lost so much; watched his friend and pupil turn into a raving megalomaniac, lost his wife, and his child. It's simply easier for him to be pushed and pulled around by others than to make a decision and worsen things. At this point, he has somewhat of a dependant personality, essentially unmotivated to do much of anything unless directed by someone else.
That's not to say he doesn't have things he deems as important. Despite his friend's turn to cruelty, Kratos values his loyalty to Mithos. He doesn't throw his trust behind people lightly and it's very difficult to move Kratos once he's actually made a decision. He has no qualms about sacrificing himself for a cause if he really believes it's the right thing to do. It takes four millenia and Lloyd's idealist urging to even get Kratos to consider that Mithos may be wrong. Kratos is very old. He doesn't like change and is very slow to change himself. Even so, he can change. Following Lloyd's lead, Kratos chooses to undo the seal on Origin, though he knows it will likely kill him and that it's going against Mithos and Cruxis.
In a nutshell, Kratos is steadfast, loyal, powerful and entirely unmotivated. He is a wonderful ally but does not make for a good leader, preferring others to decide on a course of action. Though he is patient and not unkind, it wouldn't be wise to turn to him for comfort - he's definitely a fatalist.
[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
Kratos is incredibly strong in battle. As a child he was basically an army brat and it seems he's never stopped fighting since, gaining even more power when fused with a Cruxis Crystal. As such, he's very focused and controlled with his skills. Despite being so powerful, he holds back quite a bit, never using more power than is necessary to engage any opponent.
For all his prowess though, Kratos fails miserably at emotions. He barely knows how to feel them, much less show them, and will often simply sit there and take whatever tongue lashing is being dealt by deciding he probably deserves it, even if it's way over the top or out of line. Kratos's biggest weakness is his lack of self-motivation. As strong as he is, he's simply unlikely to DO anything. He's incredibly passive and it takes a ridiculous amount of urging or manipulation to spur him to action - unless Lloyd is in real trouble. Without Cruxis to stop him, Kratos is much more likely to want to protect his son, even if he has to do it in secret because he's unsure of how Lloyd feels about it.
[ Other Important Facts ] :
Kratos HATES tomatoes. Hates 'em.
[ Sample ] :

[ Character's Name ] : Pipit
[ Character's Age ] : ~22
[ Series ] : Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
[ Canon Point ] : End of Game
[ History ] :
Pipit grew up in Skyloft with dreams of becoming a Knight and protecting the floating city and people he loved. His father was a Knight before him though died when he was young. It was his dream to follow in his Father's footsteps and join the ranks of the Knights. He entered the academy when he could and quickly rose through the ranks; winning the race in the Wing Ceremony the year before Link. He befriended Link when he joined the academy a year after him and always treated him as an equal and close friend.
During the Wing Ceremony of the game when Link's Loftwing went missing he helped Link to find it so he could compete. He was proud of Link when he won and was glad he was able to overcome the trials that stood between him without any underhanded tricks like Groose. He went off to enjoy the festivities of the Ceremony with the others and missed when Zelda went missing. He heard of her going missing and knew Link was off looking for her.
During this time he was still training at the academy as a senior and would patrol at night to help protect the citizens of Skyloft; though this wasn't the only reason. It would be later that Link overheard him arguing with his Mother about paying someone to clean the house for her. It was then he told Link that he would patrol at night to make enough money to stay at the academy but it was difficult to do so when his Mother kept spending money for food on other things. He never learned it was Link doing it.
As time went on his relationship with his mother grew more thin and he saw less and less of Link as time went on. He also had feelings for a fellow Knight in training named Karane but never realized those feelings as Link gave the love letter meant for Karane to a ghost in a toilet; saving Karane from the admiring of one of Groose's minions and left Pipit to not realize his feelings for her.
Once Zelda was found and saved, the monsters stopped appearing at night on Skyloft. Groose returned after his long bout of being missing with the news that Link and Zelda were alright and decided to remain on the surface. Travel between Skyloft and the surface was left open though with Link and Zelda freeing their Loftwings, they could no longer return. Pipit was glad to hear Link had succeeded in his mission and decided to become a strong Knight in his memory.
[ Personality ] :
Pipit is a passionate individual with serious drive. He is goal driven and once he sets his mind on something he will do anything he must to achieve it. He lives to achieve his dreams and become a strong pillar of the community of Skyloft so that he can see the smiles of his fellow citizens. To him happiness of others it the ultimate reward for such efforts. He is a good man with a strong moral compass.
This doesn't mean he can't act his age. He has an immature side that get him side tracked from things and when it's active he has a hard time resisting those urges. He loves to have a good time and will joke around with his fellow knights-in-training when the occasion calls for it. He can get a bit carried away during these fun times and will regret it afterward and train that much harder.
Pipit also enjoys making friends and being there for them. He enjoys knowing he can help people and be a support for them as his overall goal is to be a support for all of Skyloft. He is dedicated to helping his friends and doing what he must for them though sometimes he may be a bit too nice. While he likes helping friends he can be a bit harsh in his judgmental of them, expecting just as much of them as he does himself. This can make him a bit of a hard person to get along with for the less disciplined individuals.
[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
Strengths: Pipit is a proud individual with a strong self-esteem. He knows how to set his goals and pursue them and not let anything get in his way. He doesn't let himself be pushed down easily and when he does he gets right back up again.
He is also a great fighter with a sword. He has been training for years with a single hand style and can use a sword with either hand should one be injured. He doesn't use a shield however so his defense is a bit lacking.
He is a loyal friend and one that will always be there for his friends. He isn't one to abandon anyone he cares for and will rush in to help people if they need it.
Weaknesses Pipit can get a bit ahead of himself sometimes. He has a hard time letting things go and will take on more than he should. Because of this he can overburden himself. If a friend was truly in danger, Pipit would do anything to help them and possibly be more self-sacrificing than he should be.
Pipit also has a temper. When he is angered he isn't one to cool off easily and this is a man who could yell at his own mother loud enough for someone outside the house to hear. His temper, if used against him, can easily cloud his mind and cause him to do something stupid.
[ Other Important Facts ] :
He knows his birds and he knows them well. All the Loftwings. All of them.
[ Sample ] :
Pipit stood in front of his apartment complex, sword drawn, staring down the fish people as they approached. The city was under attack by these strange invaders and they were running rampant in the city. The defense force was defending the center of the city and trying to spread out against the enemy. The women and children in his complex were left defenseless however except for him. He wasn't about to let any of them enter this building. He raised his sword and pointed it at the in coming enemies. Words would be wasted against these foes and he knew it.
He had been training for this for years now. He would protect the lives of the innocent people in this building with everything he had. He watched as the first enemy charged him with a spear. He swiped the spear to the side and quickly stabbed at the fish monster, stabbing it through. He kicked it away and into the next one before a third enemy came at his left. He ducked under it's sword and sliced upward, across the monster's chest. He had to conserve his energy and let the monsters come at him. He spun around as another enemy came at his side and tried jumping to the side. The spearhead caught his tunic, tearing it and cut into his skin. He groaned but kicked out at the monster before slicing him down as well.
He had no idea how long he fought. Time seemed to escape him in battle. All he could feel was his muscles burning from swinging his sword. His wounds bleed and ached as he took hit after hit from the monsters. His legs were growing weak but he refused to let them quit. He had to keep going until every monster was slain; even if it cost him his own life. The people inside deserved to be safe in their homes and he wasn't about to let that safety be defiled.
In the end he stood alone, looking out at the corpses of the monsters around him. He fell to one knee, his breathing heavy. He had done it, fought off the monsters by himself. He smiled as he thought of the smiles of the people inside. Even if the didn't get to see them he knew they would be happy. He just had to place his faith in the others, believe that they would drive these foes from their city. He knew they could do it. Especially with all the good people they had in their ranks. He felt the air rush through his hair as he fell, his eyes growing heavy. It had been worth it, worth the cost. Everything went black before he even felt his body hit the ground. It was like flying on his Loftwing back home.

[ Character's Name ] : Uncle Iroh
[ Character's Age ] : 64
[ Series ] : Avatar: The Last Airbender
[ Canon Point ] : Post-Canon
[ History ] :
http://avatar.wikia.com/wiki/Iroh
[ Personality ] :
Overall, Iroh is a kind, laid back man, who pretty much just wants to sit back and enjoy life as he gets older. He has a general love for most everyone, and will help almost anyone with their problems indescriminately (such as when he helped Toph realize she didn’t really want to leave the group, in canon).
He also has a strong sense of humour and fun, knowing that if you can’t have fun, then life would turn boring quickly. He is not above laughing at himself either, and won’t hesitate to crack jokes about his own age. He’s also displayed a talent for using his age to make people think he’s weak for both his own advantage (though against his enemies), as well as his own personal amusement.
That isn’t to say Iroh is never serious. He treats everyone with respect (though with a certain level of sarcastic irony, when it’s someone he doesn’t like much, or agree with), and has a strong sense of honour and dignity in battle.
His calm demeanor is nonexistent when you put someone he loves in danger, or when you’re doing something he absolutely disagrees with (or doing bad things to tea and also spirit fish), and for someone who doesn’t look it, he can most definitely kick your butt in a duel, and he will do so with grace, and honour. And just downright old man badassery, because he even though he can do it gracefully, he can also be extremely terrifying just by how strong he is.
Iroh is also very cunning when he has to be, both in battle and when he's captured. He's a brilliant strategist, which is only natural considering that he was a general in the Fire nation army before his exile.
Iroh also has a near obsessive love for Tea, it is his favorite drink by far and the man can definitely drink a lot of it. He also takes it very, very seriously and is not above taking it personally should someone insult it. Or brew it wrong. Especially if you brew it wrong, and he'll probably tell it to your face if you do, unless you're Zuko.
[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
Strengths:
- Brewing Tea
- courage
- Loyalty
- Firebending
-Patience
-Giving wisdom metaphorically and also normally
Weaknesses
-self sacrificing
-unfaultering loyalty for his family; he would do anything for them, or at least mostly Zuko
- He's kind of old, which could definitely be considered a weakness even though he can still kick ass and take names
[ Other Important Facts ] :
The only thing I can think of is that he... is a firebender! Which means he uses martial arts to create fire.
[ Sample ] :
Okay! While I know that these are from an AU game, I think they're pretty valid samples, since his personality is unchanged and he's still very much the same person as he is in canon; the only difference being he's a teacher at Hogwarts. I think they convey his voice well.

In the drama, he even seems to be living away from the mansion and mingling with Finley's family, at one point being practically invited into it, and Chaltier notices that he is livelier. Unfortunately it all ends tragically when Leon is ordered by his father to assassinate the General. Leon's wielding a dagger in his left hand is also credited to his mentor, who did not want his natural ability to rust just because his left-handedness had to be suppressed.
[ Personality ] :
In one (composite) word, goal-oriented. Leon is constantly thinking of what he wants to accomplish, regardless of whether his motivation is emotional or rational. "Pointless" is practically his word of choice for expressing displeasure, and one of the ways the game showcases his character development, if the player chooses to do so, is by having him acknowledge Stahn's leadership style because it is partners who fulfill missions, not individual dedication. This comes as a far cry from the youth who nearly abandoned his companions surrounded by monsters while their strongest fighter was incapacitated because saving them would get in the way of a mission.
To the world around him, Leon shows a cold exterior that goes hand-in-hand with his goal-seeking mindset. His Swordian partner, Chaltier, and the maid he is close to, Marian, are the only ones to whom he voluntarily shows what is behind that exterior. Even around them, he has a tendency to leave things unsaid when it comes to his feelings unless he is called out on it, such as making a point of excepting Marian from his low opinion of women in the drama and reassuring Chaltier of their bond in SQ2¹. He does not necessarily mean ill, but being blunt is second nature to him, and he expresses kindness more easily through actions than words. Early on, he comes off as misogynistic, but despite being his usual unsocial self around the other party members, he does not treat his female comrades any worse than the male ones, and doubting Philia's abilities when she wants to accompany them is more related to the fact that she has no battle experience than her being a woman.
Having grown up in a home where servants and a sentient sword cared about him more than his father ever seemed to, Leon is largely unable to shake off the sense of loneliness that pervades his existence. He has moments of acknowledging Chaltier as his partner, but tends to slip back into his loner mindset when things do not go well. With anyone other than Chaltier, these moments of acknowledgement are even rarer.
Although Leon himself is considered a prodigy, his father is a highly accomplished executive, and Leon feels that his father's position somehow detracts from his own worth, wishing to prove that he can pave his own way without relying on being his father's son. Thus, even though the decision to abandon his birth name was pushed on him by his father, he embraced the change, seeing it as an opportunity to be acknowledged as his own person.
¹ "SQ2" refers to the second of two easy missions that Leon is given near the end of Leon's Side, between the fight against Greybaum and Marian's kidnapping.
[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
+ Leon is a prodigy in swordsmanship and academics, and while he possesses natural talent, hard work plays a significant role in his status. He has the ability to communicate with sentient crystals that employ Swordian technology, a rare trait in his world, and this allows him to reach a level of battle efficiency far greater than that of a normal soldier when paired with his Swordian Chaltier. Tales of Destiny: Director's Cut has him as a speedy fighter who is self-sufficient and versatile in terms of elemental attacks, covering everything but Water. The manga depicts him as stronger when he wields Chaltier with his dominant arm, which he normally does not (this is not shown in the game due to sprite flipping, but in official artwork he wears Chaltier's sheath as a right-handed fighter would).
+ So long as he has a reason to, he gets things done, even if he does not particularly enjoy the task.
- While at this point in canon he has understood the value of comrades and teamwork enough to recommend a soldier for promotion based on the fact that what gets missions done is not individual determination but the joint efforts of the entire unit (in the game this is up to the player, in the manga choosing the team player is canon), he has not internalised this concept. It is possible that had he not stopped Chaltier from contacting Stahn and friends when Marian was kidnapped, his story would not have been cut short. He even tried to push Chaltier away during this crisis.
- Although he has good reason to be confident in his abilities, Leon sometimes borders overconfidence. More dangerously, he does the same with his beliefs, which are easier to break than his battle prowess.

- Artes list from ToDDC.
- He loves sweets but does not admit to it. Chaltier has to come up with an excuse for him to eat ice candy when the two are alone, which might indicate that he has problems admitting it to himself.
- Leon suffers from motion sickness. In the game, he tends to go to the deck to talk to Chaltier alone during boat rides, which does not help matters, but dragon ship rides have the same effect on him.

[ Series ] : Breath of Fire IV
[ Canon Point ] : The end of Chapter II
[ History ] :
To understand Ryu, one must understand first a bit of the history of Fou-Lu. Fou-Lu was an emperor, the first of the Fou Empire, and he ruled with strength and an iron fist. It is said that before he died and was laid to rest in his tomb hundreds of years ago, he predicted his own resurrection.
Ryu was "born" when an empire called the "Muuru" found a way to summon dragons, though it was imperfect. One such dragon was the Yorae Dragon, and Ryu was one half of this great dragon, sent through time separate from his other half. The other half was Fou-Lu, still sleeping.
Ryu attacked a sandflier in the desert by accident, and then was found by Nina, one of the people riding the sandflier. Nina and Cray (the other person on the sandflier) were searching for Nina's sister Elina. Ryu had no memory of who he was or where he came from, and didn't even have any clothes on at first. He joined Nina (after finding some clothes) in finding parts for her sandflier while Cray stayed with the craft so it wasn't stolen.
Nina and Ryu headed to the city of Sarai, where they were told where they could find the parts. However, Nina was harassed by a member of the Imperial Army, and Ryu attacked them in order to get them to leave her alone. They escaped Sarai, picked up parts in Sandflier Valley (but not the right ones), and went to a town called Chamba, where they were escorted through the poisoned city by a mysterious person in armor named Ershin. Around this time Ryu gained his ability to shift into dragon form.
The three reunited with Cray, and after a strange shared dream from Ryu, they went off to search for Elina more. They ended up in the town of Synesta. During this time Fou-Lu had awakened and was searching for Ryu. The party left Synesta and went to the border town of Kyojin, where they were captured by the Imperials and were returned to Windia, where they were guarded by a mercenary named Scias, and had an audience with the king, Nina's father. They were told to seek the Wind Dragon, and after they freed Cray from where he was being held, they found the dragon. The Wind Dragon told them of Ryu's dragon heritage and warned them that there would be grave danger if he and Fou-Lu were to meet.
The group then traveled to the village of Chek, where the Abbess confirmed that Ryu was indeed a dragon, and explained a little more about what that meant. They were informed that Ershin was also a dragon, and the incomplete summoning had trapped her in the armor. Ershin's spirit was transferred to a medium, and the group sought the advice of the dragons, who told Ryu to find their human forms around the world and they would give him power to help him stand a chance against Fou-Lu if the two should meet. They moved to an Imperial town on the western border, and were captured. Ryu fought against the Imperial forces, lost control of himself, and transformed into the Kaiser Dragon, his most powerful dragon form. He obliterated the soldiers standing against them, and then fell asleep.
[ Personality ] :
Ryu has a generally pleasant personality. He doesn't talk a lot, unless you start talking to him first, and does have a fun-loving side, as demonstrated by his love of fishing. All this cheerfulness does hide another side of himself. If he's in one of his dragon forms, he's more likely to go berserk and attack things indiscriminately, and the stronger the dragon form the more likely this is. He's still very unsure of his purpose, and mentioning "purpose" to his face might get him to stop and think for a moment, and maybe wonder what he's intended for.
While wandering around during the course of the game, he doesn't have any memories at all, and so doesn't know very much of the world outside of what he's seen directly. His main motivation is more clearly stated in the manga, where he speaks more, and his dreams are shown where he is chasing after an unknown figure (which he later learns is Fou-Lu). He's even asked who this person is and what kind of person it is, and even where this person is, but he just doesn't know. All he knows is that he has to meet this person, because he's "always felt him calling". Since he doesn't really know who or where this person is, he travels with Nina and Cray to help them find Nina's sister. Nina is a very close friend to Ryu, able to calm him down from even a blind frenzy, but he holds no romantic feelings for her. She likes Cray, and Ryu wouldn't ever want to do something that makes his friends upset.
Emotionally and mentally, he's like a child. He knows the difference between right and wrong in a vague sort of sense – basically, killing people is wrong unless absolutely needed – but doesn't completely understand concepts of appropriateness like "don't peek around the rock when the girls are bathing", "watch where you put your arm when you fling it out", and "people get embarrassed/frustrated/flustered/angry when you don't put clothes on". He rushes into things, even going so far as to jump off a cliff to try to save Nina (and landing face first) because he didn't realize she had wings that she could float down on. Most of his expression is in his body language, so even if he doesn't say that he's, for example, upset or angry or something like that, it's fairly obvious from how he stands, because he doesn't really bother to hide his feelings. He doesn't really see a need to, since lying isn't something the really occurs to him. Tact is also not his strong point, for the same reasons.
[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
Strengths:
Okay, here we go.
Being a god (or half of one at least), Ryu is... rather powerful, or at least has the potential to be.
Ryu has lots of skills and abilities which are gained throughout the game.
Ryu has the ability to turn into dragons. At this point in his canon he only has the Aura and Kaiser forms. The Kaiser is the most powerful of these. He doesn't have access to all of them right away, though, but gains them through the course of the game. Ryu has access to many abilities in his dragon forms, ranging across the elements as well as including some healing and revival magic, as well as (eventually) calling on aid from other dragons.
Also... those dragon forms can fly. However, all of them, besides the Infini/Yorae form (final form in the game from BAD END), are only seen as full dragons during breath attacks or other such cutscenes. All the rest of the time Ryu is just in his hybrid form.
For clarification purposes, his dragon form's abilities:
Aura Dragon:
(Cost: 1 AP/level. Decent increase to HP, bit of an increase to attack and wisdom, slight increase to defense.)
- DragonBreath (no AP cost; type: breath; six non-elemental hits, divided among multiple enemies if applicable; affected by defense)
- Flame Strike (2 AP; type: melee/fire; physical fire attack)
- Hwa (1 AP; type: fire; level 1 fire magic on one target)
- Rejuvenate (9 AP; type: holy; medium healing of one target)
- Barrier (4 AP; type: lv. up; magic damaged halved for 3 turns; also reduces the effect of healing spells and stat-boosting spells)
Kaiser Dragon:
(Cost: 2 AP/level. Excellent increase to HP, good increase to attack and wisdom, decent increase to defense and agility.)
- KaiserBreath (no AP cost; type: breath; sixteen non-elemental hits; depends on current HP)
- Aura Smash (3 AP; type: melee; a critical hit that ignores defense)
- Hwajeh (3 AP; type: fire; level 3 fire magic on one target)
- Ahryu P'ung (3 AP; type: wind; level 3 wind magic on all targets)
- Patoh Pah (3 AP; type: earth; level 3 earth magic on all targets)
- Resurrect (30 AP; type: holy; revives an ally with full HP)
- Sanctuary (13 AP; type: holy; removes ability boosting spells on all foes -and- allies)
* His Kaiser form is currently uncontrollable, and as such would only be used in absolute dire emergencies.
Maintaining a dragon form comes with an initial ability point (basically mana) cost, and an additional deduction each turn. Also if a dragon form is reduced to no health, he automatically transforms back to human, and can either keep fighting that way or change to another dragon form. The forms can have their health replenished by using a particular (rare) item, gaining it back slowly by walking around, or by resting at an inn or at camp.
In game mechanics terms, he can't learn magic in his human form at all, only "skills" which are, for some reason, different from magic. Go figure. He learns skills from studying monsters, learning from masters, or transferring them from other party members.
The ones Ryu has are:
- Burn (1 AP; type: fire; deals a weak amount of fire-based damage to one target.)
- Douse (1 AP; type: power down; lowers target's resistance to fire-based magic.)
- Spray (2 AP; type: physical; physical attack on one target, damage based on defense. Deals extra damage to insect-type creatures.)
- Snap (2 AP; type: physical/power down; attack versus one target, decreases defense power)
Ryu is skilled with a sword... and as far as weapons go, that's pretty much it. He does have the "Dragon's Eye", which occasionally grants him with prophetic dreamsa grand total of once in-game pftt-, and a innate ability with animals, letting him tame things that aren't normally tamed (though if they're very wild he wouldn't be able to). He can also sense (vaguely) where Fou-Lu is in his world, though nowhere specific, just a direction at the most, as well as if another Endless is approaching.
Ryu also has an innate resistance to fire-based attacks.
Also, until the (good) end(ing) of the game, he's technically immortal. Supposedly. ... Maybe. Though he can still die in battle due to game mechanics, so maybe not quite so immortal. ... Not really immortal. Hooray for revival skills I suppose?
Weaknesses:
Aside from a serious lack of knowledge of how the world works, Ryu has elemental weaknesses. He deals with cold/water/ice extremely poorly - he has an innate weakness to it. He also has problems with darkness-based abilities - he is the yang to Fou-Lu's yin, in a sense. One of his greatest weaknesses, however, is his sense of loyalty to others and eagerness to help other people. Even if he knows it's going to be a trap, he will walk into the lion's den - because that's just what has to be done.
[ Other Important Facts ] :
Ryu is an overpowered derp I apologize - also Ryu may turn up naked in public at various points through his stay here I'm so sorry…
[ Sample ] :
I apologize for the sheer volume of stupid and cute.
Have more cute for good measure.
[ Questions? Comments? Concerns? ] : Only concerns for your sanity with him running around here…
Though actually is it okay if he comes with a few basic healing items? He can't heal himself so. :( He always has some. Nothing major, just like 3 lowish level HP restores and maybe 2 lowish level AP restores.
… I also assume fish in Vat won't have the crazy restore powers like they do in his world (like salmon which restores 30 AP to the entire party). Please confirm/deny?

… I also assume fish in Vat won't have the crazy restore powers like they do in his world (like salmon which restores 30 AP to the entire party). Please confirm/deny?
